Really looking forward to Deaths Door as I've been having a blast recently replaying Hyper Light Drifter and looking for another top down Zelda-style game to play.
Just hoping it won't be another s***ty port to Switch like GTA and is actually finished without needing to wait for updates to patch bugs.
Nintendo have a track record of treating their classic games worse than community efforts at emulation and game improvement patches. I can't see NSO being more than aimed at casual gaming until Nintendo's mindset changes in this area.
Can't help but feel disappointed that Suda51 couldn't have found a Japanese studio to partner with as it could affect some of the unique flavour of his games to partner abroad. I understand why he did this though.
Those affected by screen flicker often don't perceive the flickering but would experience eye-strain and headaches from extended use of these kind of screens.
I had issues with Samsung smartphones that had OLED PWM flickering and so try to go for LCD displays where possible - so will avoid the OLED Switch and go for the original Switch or Switch Lite.
@Cia good idea to try to play the game sand learn about it as you play it! Seamus Returns for the 3DS has remixes of the Norfair theme and a few others with some original music too. From the trailers for Dread the music seemed atmospheric.
The areas look very similar - but will probably be the ice world, lava world, plant world, rock world, industrial world, sci-fi future world, etc with remixed soundtracks of the older games
I really enjoy NMH3 and like the open world. If it was just button mashing battles the whole game it would feel very repetitive and the activities give variety. The frame rates and pop up of the open world remind you it is a video game, which is the kind of self-aware themes the No More Heroes series includes.
I wanted to like SS but after half way through the game it felt a drag with annoying controls, outdated game design, and way too much padding between the most fun parts of the game. It does have some excellent dungeons and boss battles, but that's not enough to feel motivated to finish the game. Nintendo could have done more to remove additional frustrations, but did things like locking fast travel behind an amiibo.
8 is fair as it has a lot to offer fans of the series. It's definitely fun if you enjoyed NMH1&2 and does improve on them, especially the controls for the battle parts. Hope there will be patches for the open world frame rates in future.
A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time's fairy fountains are my favourite because I enjoyed those games so much. The orchestrated versions in later games are less memorable for me.
After the Wii era I lost all my purchased games when its eShop closed, so it is nice to have some favourite physical games you know you will be able to play. Theses are mostly physical Zelda, Metroid, and Castlevania games with other games in digital form.
Super Metroid on my new Super NT - absolutely delighted with it. Would love to play Psychonauts 2 but will wait until I get a new PC with specs to handle it.
The creator of AM2R went on to work on the Ori games - so Nintendo do squash potential benefits to itself with its ban hammer. I'm hoping the Prime 2D team can release the game with the copyrighted assets removed as it was shaping up well.
I am disappointed that NMH3 didn't take many creative risks so won't buy it even though I really enjoyed 1, 2, and Travis Strikes Again. Glad Suda51 is moving onto a new IP next with more opportunity to be creative and original.

Re: Random: Look, It's The Smash Bros. Director Masahiro Sakurai On A Horse
Honestly I saw this and initially thought it was a BotW mod to put Sakurai in the game riding a horse in Hyrule

Re: Random: Brie Larson's Back In A New Metroid Dread Instagram Ad
It was a very good advert in terms of showing the new OLED switch as well as Brie's comments on the positive characterisations of Samus.
Personally, I don't really like the attention paid to the gender of Samus as I prefer thinking of the character as the power suits.

Chris Pratt will voice Samus in the Metroid movie

Re: Talking Point: Do You Have A 'Way' You Play Certain Switch Games?
Metroid Dread + headphones in handheld mode is my preferred way to play that game.
Re: Nintendo Leaker Suggests Pricing Of Switch Online's Expansion Pack Could Be Tied To "Licensing Costs"
Would prefer to just sign up for N64 in this case without licensed games as I would only play Zelda and Starfox anyway
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed
Depends on quality of the N64 emulation - which is notoriously more difficult to emulate that 8bit and 16bit games

Re: Review: Metroid Dread - Quite Possibly The Best Metroid Game Ever Made
Glad the boss fights test the players - that's the right decision for a metroid game and especially one called Dread!
So looking forward to playing the game now!
Re: Arc System Works Reveals Its Debut Trailer For River City Girls 2
This first one was really fun so will probably pick the second up too. Disappointed that a physical release is so difficult to buy.

@Clarice thanks for the tip to watch the UK Nintendo channel version instead - much better!
Re: Metroid Dread Overview Trailer Keeps The Hype Rolling Ahead Of Next Month's Launch
TBH I preferred trailer 2 with atmospheric music and gameplay rather than this one with naff lines like "morph into a ball with the morph ball"
