Unless you live under a rock, you've probably heard about a game called Elden Ring over the past week. It's the latest title from the team at FromSoftware (the same developer behind the popular Dark Souls series).
If Elden Ring wasn't already enough of a challenge for most players, one guy has able to increase the difficulty by adding a Ring Fit Adventure controller (known as the Ring-Con) to the fight. Yes, that's right - modder and Ring Fit enthusiast Super Louis 64 has returned, this time for Elden Ring.
It's not just some sort of experiment, either. He was actually able to successfully defeat a boss (Bloodhound Knight Darriwil) on his first attempt. Too easy.
If you are curious to know how this Ring-Con mod for Elden Ring works, Super Louis has explained what's going on in a follow-up video on Twitter. He can't run unless he's actually moving, he has to squeeze the Ring-Con to attack, and squat to heal. It's quite the workout! You can view the full fight over on his Twitch channel.
Super Louis 64 has previously used the Ring-Con to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. You can see him exploring the land of Hyrule in our previous post.
Have you tried out Elden Ring, or will you be sticking with Ring Fit Adventure? Tell us what you think of Louis' skills down in the comments below.

Elden Ring Fit Adventure - now there’s an crossover for ye.
This is one of the easier bosses in the game imo. Still an incredible feat and an incredible game!
Using the jogging controls for an open world game is a brilliant way to stay/get fit!
Sometimes players just need that thrill, and the internet as proven that more then once, people will do crazy feats to get it. (Or just for the brag rights)
@EdwardElric Really? Found him a bloody nightmare along with crucible knight!
@nessisonett I'm with you. Didn't have nearly as hard of a time with him as I've heard from others, but definitely died 10+ times against him.
Finishing Ring Fit Adventure is more impressive.
"When you squat, you heal"
Need to put that on a pillow
That sounds extenuating but I'm happy for him
That's hilarious. Good for him though
That boss was tough with the PS5 controller nevermind a controller shaped like… omg… A RING. I GET IT.
He'll probably attempt to play the game on the Wii Balance Board now. Such incredible coordination to be able to play a game as difficult as this in such an unconventional way.
Here’s the RFA sequel we were waiting for
Very cool! I hope someone shared the Twitter post with the Ring Fit people and Nintendo Company. The Joy-cons are probably the most multifunctional controller ever devised.
Beat this guy today. Not the hardest boss ever (although definitely more of a challenge than Adan was, lmao), but I can confidently say I wouldn't even be able to land a single hit on this dude with the Ring Fit controller.
Nice to see the longstanding tradition of mastering From Software games with absurdly impractical controllers continues.
There are easier ways to get fit than fighting Fromsoft bosses!
Until someone does this with the Dreamcast fishing rod, then I'm not impressed
This is my first time hearing of anyone using Ring-con on something other than the Switch so I was impressed just by that. I'll assume it's PC and not PS or Xboxen.
Can't wait to see people try this with every Labo toy-con.
Been watching videos of this game having recently got into Dark Souls through the remastered switch version. I have to say this looks an amazing game, and definitely has similarities to BOTW. Can’t wait for the sequel to BOTW (and can’t help but wish they would release DS2&3 on switch).
See this is why the Gid Gud thing is just a meme, these games are not as impossible as a lot of people make them out to be.
Yes they are less forgiving and failure is more punished than most modern games.
It's the difference between redoing a level after a death or respawning flickering on the last solid ground you stood on.
@nessisonett Good to know I'm not the only one. Needed like 20 tries to defeat him
This is very inspiring!
Fun fact, this boss is 10x easier if you do the Blaidd quest (the half-wolf guy). You can summon him to help fight this guy and its sooo much easier
