Wii U practically absent. Rerelease of an existing wii game and what could be an interesting free to play game. I'm hoping they're saving Wii U announcements for E3.
I would have paid.$50-$100 extra for a stronger console. This has really been a problem for many developers. Suppose I'll be purchasing a Ps4 soon and I might pick up this game.
I've tried to talk my 13 year old into this game, but he wants no part of online play where he can't speak to other players. That's the consensus among all of his friends. I can't convince nor am I going to try anymore. Maybe he will get to play a downloadable demo and change his mind.
It's awesome you responded to my comments. As far a who could do this right, Wayforward would do well, but I think Drinkbox would really push it appropriately and would likely mix humor with nostalgia for the ultimate experience.
Three things. First of all, the article is excellent. I have played the first 2 games countless times years ago and this article is making want to break out my Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and give them a shot.
Secondly,.I wasn't aware of Sega shooting down the indie remake that they gunned down.
Thirdly, I believe there is enough of a market for this game that a reboot would sell well. It would need to cover all platforms of consoles and.handhelds also including Steam and upcoming services. They would have to stick closely to the original to keep the.nostalgia factor. An announcement of this game a couple of months ahead of time for anticipation, and teaser clips leading to the release could mean instant revenue. I could easily see 300,000+ downloads.
I am a huge fan of "Load/Restore" feature in the virtual console games because I suck, but I'll finally finish this game now and on the glory of the gamepad.
It's time to give this a try. It's had an interesting appearance that puts it above many eshop titles especially because that genre isn't flooded on the eshop. My 13 year old and his friends will enjoy it.
And that my friend is how you let Sony and Microsoft take a free shot on you during the number one console selling time of the year"THE HOLIDAYS". We can only pray they have multiple insanely must have Wii U titles.
@abbyhitter Your feelings are the same as mine. I read, see, and hear about it, but I'm not sure I'll like it. I hope it's amazing and that it sells well. Maybe a home console or store demo will persuade us. I am glad to see others excited.
I think the "NX" could do for Nintendo what the iPhone did for Apple. I think this could push traditional business in a Big and good way. I imagine free to play games will likely have some Nintendo advertising. I'm excited and I think the Big N is about to take off in a way we've never seen. They have the entire gaming worlds attention because everyone is afraid of how it will be, but deep down we all know it will be a Giant. It's all speculation, but we know it's true.
I can see the world waiting each week for their regional downloads as we do now. It is exciting to think about the hype and the amount of fans they will reach now.
Push current hardware and software with deep price cuts to beef up the install base before the home run hitters are released. 3ds history shows that taking a huge loss to put your system in more households will ignite sales. The return should make up for the loss and increase profits. That's if it is highly advertised.
@buildz I completely agree, and I am dying for them to do this. Shouldn't take very long to make, and would satisfy a fan base that has been waiting a long time for greatness, and should financially be a much needed gain. Would be awesome for everyone.
Amiibo great idea , followed yet again by terrible ideas. This is a repetitive trend and they think they are doing well with the hype over people trying to get these, but the reality is that they are upsetting loyal customers. This company is powered by loyal customers. If you can't bring enough for everyone, don't bring it at all. If.your limited on supplies then you need a loyalty program. I know I'm rehashing what everyone else is saying, but I've had it and so far passed pissed that I just don't care anymore. I guess I should give up. Same OLD company, same old ways. Plenty of places around the world need work. Hire, build, supply, satisfy. The majority of us are unsatisfied and have become tireless.
SEGA, old school 2d Sonic is your key. Also couldn't hurt to make a Streets of Rage game, be it a sequel, prequel, or revamped existing game. Then port them to 3ds, Vita, and all the home consoles. Make sure you make an amazing game. Stay in your wheelhouse.
@JaxonH That's really good hearing that from someone who sounds invested. I plan to pick this one up and stick with it and maybe I'll have a similar experience. Thanks
@FritzFrapp Excellent statement. NOA is swinging and missing again. "If you build it, they will come". If you don't build enough it's lost sales and irritated customers who really want it and are left to the thieves of eBay and Amazon. Top if off with lost software sales and a hit to revenue. More units would likely help resolve this.
Nintendo and American retailers are having to deal with the previous existing supply on store shelves and the "New" products will drive those prices down . The smaller "New" model will only push them further. We'll know in a couple of weeks depending on how far prior model prices fall. This is likely why the American market was a latter one for the new model.
All these opinions, I think we should all complain that there hasn't been any mention of a Metroid game for this generation. Nintendo is too cautious and needs to stretch their legs. You have so many franchises and you should definitely make a game for every franchise for every generation. Produce and sell what you own, that's the point right. Nintendo has the sluggers, but they have to swing the bat to hit the ball, but you have to swing or nothing will happen. Maybe a walk. You gotta swing the bat.

I always want to play Contra, but then I do and I remember how unforgiving and difficult this series is and how much I suck at them. Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, start. I could only get past the end of the third level in Hard Corps, but I do love Contra games.
Wow! Now everyone calm down. If they were accurate, they only represent 3 of about 30 holiday shopping days of the Christmas season. Albeit the biggest 3, there's still 27 days, and there is no way we know how accurate this information is. Let's not lose our cool over what might be very skewed. If these numbers did carry some truth, It's still just 3 days. Microsoft shareholders are still ultra pissed about the price drop. Nintendo is watching closely.
Should make huge investment in this excellent idea. This would get kids and parents excited about Nintendo. They should do this in every major shopping mall.Genius plan, poor execution.
Looks fun. About time a studio really took advantage of this system. The frustration mode is simple and genius. I can see others copying that idea and I wouldn't blame them. This game will be bought in my house.
I have a tie between New Super Mario Bros Wii U and Super Mario Galaxy 2. I always felt like they did really well building on the prior game. The prior games were awesome also. Too many great Mario games-Super Mario 3, Super Mario World.
Nintendo should be pursuing Tell Tale to create a Wii U version now after reading most of these comments. I think this will leave most fans wanting the Tell Tale series. Who knows-Nintendo may have wanted this game from Zen to test the waters and hear the fans opinions. Genius if it were true.
This group doesn't make bad games. History proves their games are usually fun, have sound controls, and always has impressive looking visuals. My wallet is ready.
Should categorize this poll into groups, best story, game play, villains, levels, items, ect.-Just a thought-Skyword Sword really gave me the best emotional connection, Ocarina of Time had such an open world feeling to it-not that the prior 2D versions didn't.
