I don't live close enough to any of these malls to justify the trip, sadly.
Good move except for one thing, this is certainly not enough malls. They should expand a bit more.
King of Prussia Mall! Sweet!
ROAD TRIP!!!!!
no not really, way to far of a drive for any of them. I could save the gas money and buy the games/prizes and have my own version
It's not as extensive as last year's as far as locations, but its good to see they are still doing this.
Yay! The closest one is 572 miles away (approx, 9 hours). I won't be going.
Not too bad of a spread, hit the 4 corners and a few in the central corridor.
I may actually be insane enough to drive into Queens on the 25th when my kids have a half day of school. They need to go shopping for their mother's birthday anyway. I used to do all my Christmas shopping there when I was a teen. We'll see.
I don't live in america, but I'd bet it's worth the ticket.
Why not Ontario Mills? That place is huge and a landmark.
Closest one to me is about 2 and a half hours away, so won't be going, but it doesn't really look like I'll be missing out on a whole lot.
Of course they never come to Michigan...
I wish Nintendo did this for the UK, may help them attract the attention of those who are unaware of the console.
When I go into Game, the entire left wall of the shop is dedicated to Xbox and the right wall is PlayStation. Both have a playable console with latest game. The Wii U and 3DS are on a small shelf in the middle. Nintendo needs to do something to address this as most who shop at game are casuals, and parents - the ones likely to buy Nintendo.
3 1/2 hours to Southcenter Mall in Seattle via I-90 westbound... pass.
@FragRed my GAME store has a Wii U stand to play Mario Kart 8 but everytime i go there, its always empty
but its good for me cuz i get to play the wii u lol
THIS NEEDS TO COME TO THE UK
everytime i see a wii u stand, i cant help but play it, its just good i get to have fun when i go outdoors.
Braintree! Might be worth it to take a trip down there to see what Nintendo's up to.
@LordOfGamez Wow that's both impressive and sad. Though maybe Super Smash Bros would get the crowd in right now, seeing it being the next big game.
It's skipping my current city (Atlanta) but I'll be home for the holidays (Dallas) so I'll get to check it out after all! HOORAY
Yes, King of Prussia!!!
Hilariously I actually live right by one of these locations! But the Gamestop there is tiny so I'm wondering where they're going to hold this.
More marketing please Nintendo.
Should make huge investment in this excellent idea. This would get kids and parents excited about Nintendo. They should do this in every major shopping mall.Genius plan, poor execution.
@LordOfGamez My GAME store got rid of its Wii U the day the Xbox One launched.
They did something like this in Westfield Derby where I live a few months ago. It was half dedicated to Wii U and half dedicated to 3DS. The awesome thing was that it was 75/25 in the Wii U's favour in terms of people there. It was awesome to see. I hope they do it again for Christmas here in England. Finally, I went to an Argos here in Derby 2 weeks ago to get a present for my Sister in Law and they have had a Wii U demo station there since the Wii U launched and they moved it next to the new PS4 demo station, I actually saw a young adult look at both consoles and actually chose Wii U over PS4 and that made me happy. Last week, I went in to get headphones for myself and the Wii U demo station showed trailers for already released games like Mario Kart 8 and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and also upcoming games like Smash Bros, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker and Splatoon. Not that relevant, but cool non the less...
@Grumblevolcano My Argos has kept the Wii U since launch and just added the PS4 and put them both next to each other...
They don't even have enough of these at the E3 Best Buy promotion, let alone this. They're not even doing one in the same state as me, let alone within a reasonable distance for me to actually travel there.
I'm still wondering why they don't just have their own permanent store in the Mall of America. Microsoft, Apple, and Disney all have their own stores in there.
I'm going to be at the mall of american during that time, I'll be sure to check it out!
@Grumblevolcano oh... the nintendo section of my GAME is actually pretty small compared to xbox one and ps4 and they just think both are more important..
This is such a smart idea from Nintendo. Bravo.
The last two Nintendo tours haven't visited Ohio, WTF! I would love to go to one of these but traveling more than 4 hours is beyond what I am willing to do!
16 malls? I think 35 is reasonable but that is pathetic.
@Yorumi Then you're watching the wrong channels cause I've seen a ton of commercials for DKC, Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors, Bayo 2, and definitely Smash within the last year. Bayonetta 2's commercial I only saw once though because the channel it was on had limited ad space that Nintendo was competing with themselves for due to Fantasy Life and Smash 3DS.
@Yorumi Well that's weird cause Spike, Comedy Central, and Disney are where Nintendo usually likes to advertise. I remember seeing Hyrule Warriors on Comedy Central at least once, and both versions of Smash probably 10+ times.
Believe it or not, but I'd honestly say I've seen more Wii U ads this year than 3DS ads. As far as the 3DS goes, I've seen Smash a bunch of times, and then Kirby a few times. That's it.
@HylianJowi fellow bostonian, eh?
@LetsGoRetro Indeed!
Oh man I will most likely be dragged to queens mall, not that I don't want to go but I'm really antisocial.
Lol california nearly has a fifth of all the malls on the list, and they are all in westfield.
Woah! Kansas! That was unexpected. They never do any of these here! I'll have to pass on driving 3 hours to Overland Park, though.
@HylianJowi
Sweet! I thought it was pretty much all UK people on here. Malden born and raised, now living in Peabody.
Thinking of checking out that Braintree setup, also!
@LetsGoRetro Haverhill here. Little bit farther for me, but probably worth it — could get my holiday shopping done the same day!
I would be happy if they just put the demos they put in the stores on the eShop. I don't want to have to stand in Super Target, Walmart or Gamestop just to try a game I am interested in.
The first thing I do when I purchase a console is try out the demos. It helps me figure out what games I want to buy and fills in that dry spell after putting down so much money on a console. The lack of them on the console (and their limited usage) probably hurts more than helps. A kid that is going to play a demo a thousand times is not financially able to purchase the game in the first place. Most of us that are, will buy the game if it really has us playing the demo that much.
Honestly, if they were really smart they would create a share play mode like the DS (and I assume the 3DS) had. If I own Mario Kart 8, let my friends download a version that lets them only play online with me using the base cart and koopa for custom races. if I own smash brothers, let a friend be able to join in and play 1 on 1 battles with a Mii Fighter against me. Make it so I can visit my friends Animal Crossing stage as a guest character and explore with them.
