Just three regular guys at a comic con

Nintendo UK has confirmed that it will be hosting a special Super Smash Bros. Invitational tournament at the MCM Birmingham Comic Con, which takes place this weekend (Saturday 21st March and Sunday 22nd March, to be exact) at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham.

Attendees at the event will be able to watch the quarter-finals, semi-finals and grand finale, but these will also be streamed live on Saturday via Twitch for those who can't make it along. Coverage starts at 2PM GMT, with the final at 4PM.

Even if you're not in the tournament, there will be plenty of opportunities to flex your muscle during the two day event, as Nintendo's PR points out:

It's not just the community players who will be taking centre stage though, as Nintendo will also be hosting a number of tournaments, trials and matches across the weekend, available for all to participate in. Four-player Super Smash Bros. trials on the New Nintendo 3DS and Wii U gaming pods will be taking place throughout the weekend as well as on-stage exhibition matches hosted by the Nintendo comperes which will be themed at random. Guests can also experience the Super Smash Bros. amiibo functionality in an 8 player amiibo free-for-all tournament, as well as an amiibo team-up tournament where players team up with their amiibo to take on opponents, so don't forget to bring your amiibo along to the show!

Monster Hunter experts will also be on hand for special "Learn to Hunt" sessions on Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and Nintendo's Official UK Store will also be present, offering plenty of merchandise and limited edition goodies. Finally, there will be a StreetPass area so visitors can boost their Mii count and challenge other players.
