Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch Has Started Well - Now the Real Challenge Begins

remlapgamer

I'm usually a day one system guy, but sadly this time around I will likely hold off for a long time. I personally feel burned really bad by Nintendo not releasing a Metroid on Wii U and then holding Nintendo back for Switch when that was the primary reason for purchasing the console. They've broken my trust and although they don't owe me or any other fan an apology, it wouldn't hurt especially if they would openly explain and take ownership their actions. I still love Nintendo and the new Zelda has been awesome, maybe after a price cut

Re: Delivery Issues Spoil Nintendo Switch Launch Day for Unlucky UK Buyers

remlapgamer

Good thing just decided to wait on purchasing a Switch 😃. I was slightly disappointed because my Wii U version of Zelda BOTW ordered from Amazon Prime was supposed to arrive Friday and will likely be here any minute from the United States Postal Service.
Since I have been reading all of these comments I'm not feeling so disappointed anymore and think I'll stick with store pickup in the future.

Re: USPS Recovers Lost Package Containing $10,000 in Rare SNES Cartridges

This was a wreckless way to handle this. Just to think if the address wasn't written inside the package this could've ended really bad. Maybe enough bad publicity from this will cause them to come up with an action plan to resolve this like a lost and found system. I will always put my address inside the package for future shipments to cover me after reading this. I have to say they have never lost anything I've ever sent.

Re: Nintendo Switch eShop Purchases Will Be Tied To Your Nintendo Account

remlapgamer

@UK-Nintendo
That's honestly refreshing to hear that because I was actually unsure about the other systems policies and allowances pertaining to software purchases. I'm so close to purchasing a physical copy of Zelda for Wii U and I'm anxious to wait and get it with Switch if and when I get one. That's been my hold up on preordering Zelda because of the eShop results and being able to purchase again for Switch with a discount. Thank you

Re: Nintendo Switch eShop Purchases Will Be Tied To Your Nintendo Account

remlapgamer

My BIGGEST question goes back to the same one I've asked a probably 10 times and usually gets tons of backlash from is "If I download Zelda Breath of the Wild on the Wii U eShop now can I download later at a discounted price or possibly even free on the Switch". I really wish Nintendo would clear this up. They have clearly stated that the game content is identical and that there isn't a difference in the Wii U and Switch version except the pixels depending on how it is being played.

Re: Nintendo Switch Appearance Earns Positive Impressions Among Super Bowl Commercials

@impurekind
I love your statement. I wish some company could of used it and made a commercial to enlighten some the viewers who were unaware of the Big Corporations true intentions.
I'm from Birmingham, AL and I can definitely say the women, men, soon to be transgendered, and all races and walks of life have an equal opportunity in my workplace. I work for a large automotive corporation and more than half of our managers are women. They have their position because they are awesome at what they do, not because we pretend ours and everyone else's workplace needs to treat our employees equally, we've been doing that for two decades now since our inception.
A great number of those adds were trying to win over viewers by caressing topics people are most sensitive about in recent times. The reality is that most these companies really are monsters and don't care about women's rights and immigration.
It's funny how there wasn't a commercial about possibly losing Obamacare.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Will Not Feature HD Rumble

This is exactly why I've been screaming about people purchasing the Wii U or the Switch version and not getting the other version free or with a reasonable discount. Nintendo is 100% telling us the two versions are exactly the same. Not kind of close, not really close, but the exact same game. Give us a reason to purchase a Switch in the future by either giving us that version free or with a reasonable discount because it's almost unethical to charge $120 for the EXACT SAME GAME on two systems. Show your loyal fans some love.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Guide Highlights Range of Puzzles and Side Quests

remlapgamer

@8itmap_k1d
Why would they charge you twice for the exact same game released at the exact same time. I didn't only say for free, I also said a "possible discount" would be fair offer to customers. There are tons of people posting they just plan to only pick this up on Wii U. I think Nintendo would be wise to offer a discount for the Switch version to customers already owning the Wii U version as an incintive to purchase a Switch. I honestly believe Nintendo will offer this in the future.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Guide Highlights Range of Puzzles and Side Quests

remlapgamer

@Link1309
I don't think it's wanting something for free quite as much as it is me paying for the same thing twice. It's a common courtesy and practice. iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, any new movie you purchase usually offers a slightly higher price for the Blu ray-DVD-digital copy. I also said get the game for free or a "possible discount" for the Switch version. I have double paid for countless games Nintendo has released over the years and they did offer discounts on Wii U virtual console games you already had registered on Wii so Nintendo understands where me and many other fans are coming from. From a business perspective you'd think Nintendo would highly promote this incintive to attract more fans to make the Switch over to the new console. Not giving getting the game for free or a discount would be a reason to not move onto the new console.

Re: Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition to Include Touch Controls for Portable Play on Switch

remlapgamer

I only played the demo because I got my panties in a wad when they postponed Wii U version and said the hell with this game, but I guess I'm ready to come back around and play the WI U version. Still no plans to pick up Switch until they really really wow me. I do hope the Switch version turns out better than WI U one because the bottom line is everyone can agree the Wii U version was great.

Re: First Impressions: Revisiting Hyrule in Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch

remlapgamer

Has there been any word about the possibility of anyone purchasing the Wii U version and getting the Switch version for free or at a discount? I'm not trying to sound cheap, they've already said there isn't a difference in the two games so why should we pay for the same game twice? If not, then that's something to definitely consider a downfall for purchasing a Switch.

Re: Guide: A Breakdown of Confirmed Nintendo Switch Games and Release Dates

remlapgamer

I'm not blown away like they expected us to be for the launch, but I think they are working on the games we are expecting. The lack of third party is truly my biggest concern still. I'm holding my money til they begin to deliver on those games we're long overdue for. Metroid!!!!! Along with major 3rd party games that get released on the other systems. My expectations are reasonable and possibly a little high but I preordered Wii U a month in advance for Zelda, Metroid, and major 3rd party support and almost 5 years later we are finally about to get Zelda on Wii U. Deliver the expectations and I'll jump on board.

Re: Nintendo Switch to Introduce Paid Online Service in Autumn / Fall

remlapgamer

@shani
well first of all the reason I believe that it is okay that we pay for this service is because the servers don't run themselves secondly I'm more willing to bet that Nintendo will also provide games in a similar fashion Xbox Live and PlayStation Plus members receive on a monthly basis. Nintendohas been standing on the sidelines of online gaming since it's been in existence this is a major step in the right direction to be competitors and possibly provide an excellent online experience

Re: Poll: One Week to Go - How Are Your Nintendo Switch Presentation Hype Levels?

remlapgamer

Release date and price.
Confirmed third party games.
Online capabilities/gameplay.
These are all very and equally important to me.
I would have added Nintendo games but those will obviously be in well numbers.
I can say this much, the expectations are at a maximum and could prove to be devastating if they don't deliver the biggest event possibly ever as a company. Here's hoping for the best.

Re: Mass Effect Producer Says There's No Plan to Bring Mass Effect Andromeda to Switch

remlapgamer

@JaxonH
I know they charge$60 a year, but they also provide monthly free games with annual membership purchase that greatly surpasses what Nintendo offers.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Nintendo fanboy, but I'm also a realist. I believe Nintendo envy's what the competition has accomplished with online play and membership perks.
Maybe Nintendo will consider taking off the gloves and take a leap forward with online gameplay.
Here's hoping for the best, especially if I pull off another day one console purchase

Re: Mass Effect Producer Says There's No Plan to Bring Mass Effect Andromeda to Switch

remlapgamer

Had extra time and money due to lack of Nintendo and lack of Zelda and purchased a PS4. So we're covered. Anything Nintendo will obviously be purchased on a Nintendo console, and anything AAA that's not Nintendo will be PS4. Also anything with online compatibility will most likely be PS4 also because Nintendo is still trying to figure out what the interwebnet is. Sorry, but online gaming has been huge for 10 years + and Nintendo just, well, doesn't get it.

Re: Feature: Hopes and Dreams for Nintendo's 2017

remlapgamer

@Clownshoes
Mr. Vogel really nailed Nintendo's dejavu of mistakes. I think they are always aiming for lightning in a bottle like early Wii years, but that kind of planning can be devastating to a loyal fan base. Nintendo is a Really, Really, stubborn company and unwilling to make the best decisions more often than not. My gut tells me this console will fall short, although I really hope it does well.

Re: Guide: The Best Nintendo Gifts For The Holiday Season (US Edition)

remlapgamer

Wii u bundled with Mario kart and Nintendo Land $359@ Amazon? Wii U Mariokart bundle $299 @ Best Buy and Target? I'm so disappointed in this old fashioned and set in their ways company unless their secret goal is not sell Wii U units so more people will purchase a Switch. Most people aren't buying consoles last-minute and certainly not at this price.

Re: Analyst Firm Notes Hype For Switch, But Worries Nintendo Is "Not Prepared" To Take Advantage

remlapgamer

@audiobrainiac
"Even that piggly wiggly I knocked over in Yazoo". I agree with your statement. This time will be much better if they can have enough consoles ready at the launch. That scares me because I firmly believe Nintendo tries to strike that perfection of having just enough console so people erupt into chaos trying to find one and it ends up being media hype/free publicity over us fighting to find one. Happens time and time again with Nintendo and many other companies. Let's hope they are ready.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st December (North America)

remlapgamer

@mowerdude
Your speaking for me exactly. PS4 will be garnering our household until Nintendo releases the new Zelda, and we plan to pick up Switch when they drop the price. I know it doesn't sound loyal, but we bought our Wii U expecting Metroid, Zelda, and more Mario than we got.
