Huh. The difficulty hike isn’t something I expected. Now I’m tempted—I always sail through Pokémon Nuzlockes, despite self-imposed restrictions I might add on item purchase or use... I already had this on order for the library I work at, might check it out once it’s through processing.

The easier and more straightforward online components are, the better. Nintendo doesn’t have a great history of that.

What happens, happens. If we get a partner direct, then that's nice. If we get a first-party direct, that's nice too. Either way I'm sure there'll be some interesting games, like we got in the Indie Direct.

I just took over the Switch collection at my workplace (library) and this is going to go out at BotW levels (we have SIX copies and they’re all out right now) early on. I don’t know why, but the community loves the Let’s Sing and Let’s Dance games. It won’t have quite a much staying power though, so I’ll probably only buy two or three copies.

Oh my goodness, this one’s actually really cute. Each of the BaB Pokémon gets just a bit better than the last! Unfortunately I’m not comfortable going to my local mall right now. Might order this online despite the price.

@Tourtus No, people pitch a fit over the masks as well. I work as a librarian and we’ve had a belligerent patron or two who didn’t want to wear one (fortunately our state has a mask mandate) since we reopened to the public. We’ve been very lucky overall, though, and it’s been limited to that. My cousin, for example, is lightly immunocompromised and once had a woman purposefully cough in her face when she asked her if she could please put her mask on while they shared an aisle in the grocery store (this was a bit before the mandate, but still).

Wasn't the diorama a kickstarter bonus? Weird that it's being sold separately now...

@AnotherGoblin I have Apple Arcade but there are some games I’ve double-dipped with. Plus not everyone has an iPhone. So I like it when AA games get ports.

Haven’t played this particular game yet, though. I’ve heard mixed things about it so I don’t know if I will. I have too many other games on my backlog, even if it is on AA.

I liked TLJ. The retconning in TFA really grates on my nerves, personally. But whatever, people like what they like and don’t like what they don’t.

With how often they give their games away I’m going to have the full catalog eventually, lol!

Interesting anime style. Closer to the game’s aesthetic than I’d expected. Definitely looking forward to this!

I’m enjoying this but man is Bullet glitchy. That’s okay because it just means that I have more time to stop and pet him, but still. Be sure to pick a color that stands out for his collar, since he blends in to the environment really well.

Overall not the best game but a diverting five-to-fifteen-hour experience, depending on how much you replay it. Worth the price for me personally but I’ve told a lot of people to wait until it goes on sale.

@Anti-Matter is there a confirmed cartridge? I don’t want an empty box with a download code.

Thought it would probably be her! I’m happy. Twintelle would have been a good pick as well but Min Min has been the breakout character from the game.

This looks like a lovely game. If it runs well on Switch and follows through on it’s interesting premise, I might pick it up.

@JR150 As has been said the DLC characters were already picked. But since Ninjala is a (new) Nintendo franchise I wouldn’t be surprised if it got a later slot on the roster. It wouldn’t be the first time an unreleased game build was given to Miyamoto to play so that he could do Smash research.

@Rayquaza2510 June is Pride Month in the US and a number of other countries! Pride celebrations are held throughout the month including parades and rallies (although many have been cancelled this year for obvious reasons) and we honor LGBTQIA+ history. You guys in Europe (assuming due to the site, forgive me if I’m wrong) have LGBT+ History Month in February instead.

Very excited for this. If it runs smoothly then it’ll be a perfect 3AM in the basement with the lights off horror game. Switch works wonderfully for that sort of thing.

When I game for the first time I played it on mobile. Later played it on 3DS and then in the Switch—it’s always been one of those games I just enjoy going back to. The mobile controls are fine ON MOBILE—they suffer a lot from being moved to the Switch. I still enjoyed it, it’s just my least favorite of the three ways to play it despite the bit of extra content.

It’s nice that they’re free.

The Pokémon ones are a letdown since they’re all just watermarked screenshots, but the Tora and Poppy one for XC2 made up for that. That’s stupidly adorable.

EDIT: Oh, wait, just delayed indefinitely due to Covid-19. That means it’ll probably still happen eventually. Whew.

The non genre could use more variety but they always seem to just want to be Pokémon clones. Also, the art style in battles reminds me a bit unpleasantly of app games (I don’t mind mobile games usually, though.). I’ll keep an eye on this for the claims of a good story but will likely pass.

Ah, well, at least another Digimon game is due out soon.

Should be interesting.

I prefer the BotW stables that made it to the last 2019 review period (we’ll find out what made it through that this summer!), although the castle set is quite impressive.

XCDE, Bioshock, The Spirit Within, and The Outer Worlds are all really tempting but I’ve got to budget right now. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but thank goodness The Wonderful 101 was delayed!

@WesEds I disagree on that. I have Apple Arcade and it’s perfect for me. Full of really charming little indies which I’d been looking at for the Switch anyways, so it’s saved me money. I haven’t run across anything on it I’d call shovelware yet, although it certainly isn’t for everyone (and that’s fine!).

As you might guess from my avatar, I really liked this game. It deserves the success!

@Henmii Hollow Knight is fantastic but a very different experience. Sometimes you just want something soothing and sweet and short and Gris is perfect for that. Sometimes you want something where you’ll find something new every time you turn it on, and probably die a lot if you’re anything like me, but see yourself getting a little better with each death—HK is phenomenal for that. Both games are very different experiences and that’s all right.

@Lady_rosalina I don’t think it’s a bad thing to have exclusives. I’d prefer to be able to play any game but that doesn’t look likely, lol, and I’m fine with that. But the Bayonetta games weren’t made by Nintendo, and only 2 and 3 were published by them, so they already have fans from other systems.

I like what Nintendo has been doing with a lot of newer indies: timed exclusives. Best of both worlds imo.

@Wilforce The Mario rumors have Kotaku’s Jason Schreier backing them... his record for leaks is pretty much spotless. I’m inclined to believe at least the ones he’s reported on.

The backlash... isn’t great, but really this might not be the year to play any AF pranks if you can help it. Tensions are running rather high right now.

That being said, maybe this will push them into porting it over to the Switch because there’s clear interest in the project.

I don’t mind reading, but I might wait on a sale just because my backlog is a nightmare right now (but with the current situation I’m making some progress through it, at least).

@MasterJay I think a Prime 4 announcement is honestly less likely than an announcement about BotW 2, considering that they restarted Prime 4 from scratch. I’d say we’re due for news on Silksong (although that might be saved for a Nindies video) and Bayonetta 3, though.

Probably nothing Ninty is publishing for them, so no Astral Chain 2 or Bayonetta 3. I’d love to be wrong, though!

The absolute dream would be Scalebound, or a new Okami since they teased that a while back (if seemingly jokingly).
