Going to try and wrap up my Maddening Silver Snow run on Fire Emblem. With how slowly I’ve been going through that particular route, I probably won’t be able to. Might crack open Dragon Quest XI as well.
I've been looking forward to this one since I saw it on the Nindies presentation--but I won't be buying it for the Switch, since it's out on Apple Arcade. I've got it downloaded onto my phone and will be giving it a try after I finish Mutazione! It's still early but Apple Arcade is shaping up to be a good complement to my Switch, since it has a good number of the indies I've been wanting but haven't been able to afford because there are too many freaking amazing games coming out this fall (I'm going for SWitcher this week, and possibly that new fitness adventure game depending on reviews... I need something to get me back into exercising a bit!).
I thought it was fine. I really just wish we’d seen the ponyta (and other species) interacting more with each other. Ponyta, at least, are supposed to be herd creature, right? At least we got some of that at the end. (Two floofs does not a herd make. Although I would also like to petition that we rename Gen VIII Gen FLOOF. We’ve got Wooloo, Cottonee, Alcremie, and now Galarian Ponyta... there’s so much floofiness in this Gen.).
Also, it probably would have been better to have shortened it to four hours or so. I think it was good that it tried to mimic actual wildlife observation studies but the gamer mentality isn’t as patient on average as that of the scientist.
She's one of my favorites! She's really a well-written character, though. Her supports are among my favorites and she's one of the few students I'm actually tempted to romance, despite not being into the romance aspect of the game. Fortunately she's one of the same-sex options so I have the opportunity to S-Support her if I end up going for it.
Euuuurgh, though, some of her lines are absolutely heartbreaking. Only thorns left on this rose, indeed.
@Patron - Okay, this has to be trolling. And not particularly well-done trolling, either, if you're claiming that the fanbase is dwindling. This game has sold ridiculously well. Can you ditch the icon? It's pretty clear you're trying to troll people and you're certainly annoying the heck out of actual feminists like me.
Fire Emblem Three Houses for me. Maddening mode is a blast so far! After that I’ll probably take a break for until Infernal mode is released, I’m on my fourth playthrough (Church route) and feeling burnout start to hit.
I’ve also been trying out Apple Arcade. There are a lot of games on there that I wanted to get on the Switch but was having a bit of trouble budgeting for, so it’s been great so far. Blazed through Sayonara Wild Hearts and loved it so much I bought the soundtrack immediately afterwards. Might try NeoCab or Overland next.
Overland is here already? Man, that’s a tempting one.
I’m not usually big on multiplayer games, buuuuut I have a friend who is absolutely obsessed with Dead by Daylight so I might pick that up to play with him depending on how it runs on the Switch.
Everyone on the fence about buying 3H, I really can’t recommend this game enough. It’s a great introductory point to the series and an absolutely phenomenal game as a whole. I personally almost exclusively in handheld mode—it’s so easy and relaxing to pull out my Switch during my lunch break or while I’m waiting for an appointment and explore the monastery or set lesson plans or mash a group of bandits to a pulp. It’s the first game since Xenoblade Chronicles 2 I’ve sunk over a hundred hours into, and it took quite a bit longer to do that with XC2.
I have one already due to also wanting a full set of the pinks, so I went with the import method. Both sets are great. I think I’m up to six complete sets of joy-cons and might have a problem, lol.
I honestly have no interest in aPro, unless it includes some very drastic changes beyond graphics and battery and the like. My regular Switch is just what I need for personal use and for work.
I can understand why people want those improvements, sure, but it’s not something I myself care much about.
As for the Lite, that thing is going to print money due to families with kids and people who just prefer playing in handheld (if not for needing the docked mode for work and being addicted to mixing and matching joy-con colors, I’d have probably been an ideal customer for one myself).
These would work really well for me—I’m always on the hunt for cheap controllers for work. (I’m a librarian, and frequently run programs at the library I work for using Switches.)
I usually ignore the cheaper/pro Switch rumors (has a month gone by in the last two YEARS where there hasn’t been at least one article about said rumors?), but launching something like this by the end of June without having announced it by now would just be ridiculous, even considering Nintendo’s fondness for surprises. A console is far different from Tetris 99.
Aaaaaand... done! I enjoyed the demo, even though I was terrible at the game (still interested in purchasing it and playing more, though!), and was happy to give my feedback on it.
We actually just held a tournament at the library I work at yesterday! Unlocking all of the characters on multiple Switch consoles over the weekend was exhausting. My coworker handled one but I was left with the other three... and I am really, really, REALLY bad at the game. I was only able to fully unlock one Switch and mostly unlock a second (which meant we only had three Switches at the event rather than four, which made timing a bit of a concern). Still, everyone had a blast, so it was worth it!
Does anyone know if, by using one of these, I could avoid racking up data fees on my phone while I’m traveling? I’ve got a three-week trip to Africa coming up and have pre-ordered the edition of Let’s Go: Eevee bundled with the Pokéball Plus, so I’d be thrilled to be able to use the controller to catch some Tropius that I might have otherwise had to miss out on.
@DawgP Well, I'm buying it because I'm a librarian and it'll work well in my library's collection. That reasoning might not work for you, though.
That being said, Prima Guides are generally pretty reliable and have good tips that casual players can benefit from both pre- and post-balance patches.
Does anyone know what the extra 144 pages in the hardcover version contain?
I preordered Torna and DBFZ before Amazon took away the discount, but I couldn’t get the physical version of Undertale through them so I still have one game left to shell out for this month.
Neigh from me, but it's good to have games like this on the Switch. I've been reading/listening to interviews with the woman who runs FEMICOM Museum recently, and it's pretty interesting stuff. http://www.femicom.org/
Iconoclasts for me! Also, definitely share that treat dispenser if you manage to cobble one together—my cat (and most of my foster cats) absolutely love the RC cars and fishing pole from the variety kit, but they’re not exactly made for them.
I'm still wrapping up the main storyline of Xenoblade Chronicles 2--I just keep getting sucked into sidequests, I can't help it! I have Wolfenstein II waiting for me after I finish that, though, and then I might bite the bullet and buy Octopath Traveler.
@Innerclimb The battles can take a while if you haven’t figured out all of the mechanics yet. The game explains them but there’s a lot to keep track of. Once you start regularly using Driver Combos, Blade Combos, and Chain Attacks, though, things speed up considerably.
I’m going to be running a library program with LABO the Saturday after next! It’ll be an all-out Robot Wars tournament with the RC cars... we’ve got a lot of people already excited about it (librarians like myself included)!
Clawesome! I've been pawfully curious about this game--from what I've heard it may not be purrfect, it's a good fit for someone feline up to a bit of a challenge. This might just be a furst-day purrchase, although I have too many games to play right meow as it is.

I always love a good nindies video! Wonder what the last-second surprise will be this time? Cadence of Hyrule ending up being a ton of fun!
Also, I agree with @chardir, we need news about the goose (game)!

Tales of Vesperia, The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince, and maybe some Smash.
