In January, Nintendo revealed a fourth house would be added to Fire Emblem: Three Houses as DLC. It's titled 'Cindered Shadows' and focuses on the Ashen Wolves – a house in name alone, as it's comprised of disenfranchised students who reside in the Abyss beneath Garreg Mach.
This latest wave of Expansion Pass content is now available. To celebrate, Nintendo has shared an oil painting by the illustrator Jun Suemi, featuring the four new characters from the Ashen Wolves house.
If you're interested in trying out this new DLC and don't already own the Expansion Pass, it'll set you back $24.99 / £22.99 / €24,99. It includes a complete side story (separate to the main story), a new location (the Abyss), four new characters to recruit, new quests, new activities, new paralogues and new classes in the main story.
There's also a free update, bumping the game up to Version 1.2.0 and allowing you to invite Lady Rhea to your tea parties. You can read the full patch notes here.
Are you looking forward to getting to know the fourth house? Have you played through the existing DLC? Leave a comment below.

Is it now called Fire Emblem: Four Houses?
Sounds cool.
The artwork here is done well but I'm feeling pretty mixed about the character designs.
Nice! I should catch up on my backlog before revisiting 3H, though... no matter how gosh-darn tempting this is.
Haven’t even started the main game yet. Lol. Is the dlc worth it or is the main game pretty substantial?
I have to work on progressing in the story, haven't played all the through the game yet.
I'm in the middle of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth for now, but I'll be back to FE once I'm done.
Welp guess I'm buying the expansion pass
Might be getting this, but don't know where to find the time to play it.
I've always wanted to have tea with an Evil Dragon Goddess !!
Let the games begin!
@AG_Awesome It's substantial all by itself; 3 full very different playthroughs that can range from 40-70 hours each are part of the main game. Most of the DLC is extra features/ quests threaded throughout the game- nothing necessary, but enhances everything and gives you more chances to earn gold/renown.
This last bit of DLC is an additional 10 hour story that also adds new battles (paralogues to the main game) and expands your hub world. It's again- not required, but nice. You'd probably want to start the main game and see how much you become invested in it before you decide to get even more of it.
Looks like I’ll be putting more hours into this game again.
Yes!! So excited to play this!
@Retron
Ooh that IS a fun fact! Thanks for pointing that out 😃
@Heavyarms55 From my point of view, Edelgard is evil!
@Maschinenmensch If you don't like it, don't post. No need to rain on anyone's parade.
@Maulbert @Heavyarms55 I believe the right word is "misunderstood".
@Maulbert Well then you are lost!
@Enigminator It was a joke. It's from Star Wars, Anakin says "From my point of view the Jedi are evil!" and Obiwan responds with "Well then you are lost!" or something like that. lol
I was waiting for this whole day yesterday untill I saw it'd get released 3am on the 13th in Europe and not the 12th...
@Maschinenmensch Nobody called you names, kid.
When a so called strategy game wants you to invite someone for a tea party.
Sad to see a franchise going down the stream. It was sooo good. Once.
"They were drawn into the conversation."
Playing though it now. Its not bad, but feels kinda like a predictable Fire Emblem 3H fanfic.
@Tao calling someone a jerk is calling someone a name; learn to read and think critically.
Such an overrated series.
@Heavyarms55 Take a look at the time stamp. I did not see your reply to him until now.
@Enigminator Fair enough.
@Maschinenmensch Again, nobody called you names. Learn to read.
