But you hate the gamepad so much, how could you even use Miiverse properly without touching it. i kid.

@ToxieDogg
That's where you go and report someone making penis jokes out of a perfectly kid-friendly game like 3d World. As far as I know, AVGN have these explicit words in-game which you encounter frequently so yeah it's easier to moderate it by simply disabling the screenshots taken in-game FOR NOW. As for Bayonetta? You don't see that much often. Maybe if there are screenshots which gets reported often in a game per day or per week, that's when Nintendo try to ban miiverse users for posting screenshots for that particular game. AVGN could have reached a specific number of forbidden screenshots reported and taken down to warrant a temporary (or permanent) disabling of screenshots until Nintendo can fix the Miiverse age filtering.

I just read the article and most of your yay-groan-boo comment is pretty much spot on I chuckled. Except I'm a happy Wii U owner with the direct. Probably because after the SNES, PSone and Megadrive era, I went full PC gaming. It's only last 2013 that I came back with the Wii U and will probably get a PS4 down the line when there's more exclusive (or multiplats I preferred) to consoles I'm interested I can't get on PC.

Those N64, Wii, GBA, DS VCs on the Wii U are pretty much welcome to me. Plus I just got a N3DS so I'm set until NX. I can understand those who didn't skip past Nintendo consoles though. There is indeed a drought even for first party games. It felt empty on the first half here in EU for the Wii U even for me who have plenty of backlog to play. I've only bought Captain Toad so far for the major new games. Mario Party? Well I'm not gonna buy it until I find a Toad amiibo and company. I've never seen one Super Mario line on GameStop nor on any major retailers here in Italy including our own Amazon.

These locked contents on games aren't a problem for me if only there's plenty of amiibo from retailers. I'm not going to pay past €15 for one. SRP is 12,99 but most retailers including GS are charging 14,99€.

I'm getting tired hearing the same poopitypooppoop about the gamepad. I admit it's Nintendo's fault they gimped the Wii U hardware to save cost and they didn't properly market it. But it's never the gamepad's fault the Wii U isn't selling like PS4/XOne. The gamepad is awesome. Majority of Wii U owners like it. Any Wii U owners saying the gamepad is crap are in the minority. Here is a poll 20 months ago about the gamepad:
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/07/poll_how_important_is_dual_second_screen_gaming

Off TV play is nice, second screen map or inventory management is awesome, browsing the internet/games/eshop is convenient, touch controls offers new ways to play, gyro-aiming is way better than the right stick aiming.

Some of you are nitpicking on Nintendo not fully utilising the gamepad use on games. Tropical freeze, really? Just one or maybe 2 games? Maybe think for a second that it's not really needed on that particular game? Just like some 3DS games not using the 3D? Or maybe Nintendo is trying to show 3rd parties they are not really forced to use the gamepad? Like they are not forced to use 3D on the 3DS by releasing a 2DS?

I was able to register metroid prime trilogy vc last night. The survey link finally appeared while DKC and SMGalaxy2 appeared within a few weeks. I'm on 9150 now, I was hoping to get another one but my local GameStop don't have Star Fox 64 3D sealed nor REvelations 3D. No way I'm buying an opened game branded as new.

I'm not that excited with Paper Mario U either but I'll welcome it. Fatal Frame would be awesome so is VC crossbuy. Meh on N64 VC unless they magically add gyroscope aiming/controls (on OoT at least). If not, I'll just buy their 3DS/WiiU remakes which is better. Those Wii VC releases are nice, but they better add more rare-to-find games to fill the drought. I don't care that much for the 3DS unless it's Fire Emblem. As for Splatoon and Yoshi's Wooly World, I'm already sold and just waiting for the release date so I don't care what they show in the Direct.
