But if they're in the localization team, after that interview came out about how the new Yakuza Devs go to western teams to ask what is appropriate to put in their games instead of of just doing what is appropriate for their own culture, I say good riddance and I hope they leave this industry altogether.

@Quiet2down Yeah, I could've explained that better. The issue with the OC is that he was simply not interesting. when you have a franchise full of characters people care about but opt for a new guy to be your anchor to the story, you gotta make damn sure that he's captivating. and Cole simply wasn't. he was as generic as they come. They could've made him interesting through his connection with Scorpion, but not even that.

@Kr96 personally, I'd rather deal with typos and odd phrases over completely changing what the characters say.

First one was oaky, but kinda meh. it's biggest disservice was the unbelievably stupid idea of making an OC for a protagonist with a literal Plot Armor for a power.

Yeah, to be honest Kieran is the best developed rival we've had probably ever. I only played a few pokemon games (Gale of Darkness, Sun/Moon, Sword/Shield, Legends Arceus), and his arc was one of the most interesting aspects of the story. He was better than a guy who's haply to battle you or someone who's a jerk for the sake of it.

@Crono1973 yeah... I can believe that what happened was the result of negligence and not malicious intent, and he could've salvaged some of his image had he just humbled himself by admitting his mistakes. But him getting visibly angry and threatening the lawsuit really squandered that possibility.

@Snatcher I think the issue with Hogwarts wasn't even that it didn't win, but it was that it's existence wasn't even acknowledged. Love or hate J.K. Rowling, you can't deny it was one of the biggest games of the year and it merited being at least a nominee in some categories. It's not a stretch to believe that it was ignored because some people can't stand J.K.'s views.

Seriously, if it wasn't obvious before that this show is a farce, 2019's "The Last of Us 2 Awards" should've made that crystal clear that they're nothing but bought and paid for.
That's not the only issue of course, the incessant celebrity guests that had little to nothing to do with gaming, the constant ads. the fact that many of the winners are just glossed over by the host just saying who won then moving on. I guess it took the blatant disrespect shown to the devs who actually got attempt making speeches after winning for people to see this stupidity for what it is.

The only thing that kept me watching it in the years I did was the possibility of a Smash character reveal.

I don't get how this guy came to have so much influence.
Also, I didn't bother watching this thing hut I read that Anthony Mackie was there? Is he appearing in any upcoming games? And, if not, Why was he there?

The Sega stuff is an interesting announcement but without footage it's kinda meaningless.

@SpaceboyScreams if Maya was a brand new character, I'd just say the design of the **BELLY DANCER** wearing an iron bikini on top of her shirt just look kinda dumb and leave it at that.
But she's not, she's a pre-existing character, who's been around for at least a decade, and she was singled out to have her outfit changed because God forbid a charcater whos meant to be an Alluring Dancer wears revealing clothes. Nevermind the fact that her sister's design (and every returning character I've seen) was completely unchanged.

after I saw the atrocity that was that Maya redesign, I'm not touching this game. censoring characters is a sure-fire way to lose support.

That trailer feels like a Hollywood trailer.

I can't be excited for this. Not after the devs censored jokes in the first game ans blatantly lied about it saying nothing would be censored.

@HaileySheridon My guess, is, they don't really want characters made for Toddlers to be beating the snot out of each other. since those are usually made to teach very simplistic morals for very little children. and seeing Dora in the game would lead a parent to buy it and then complain to Nickelodeon when Spongebob Ran her over with his boatmobile.

I'm kinda surprised st the comments. I don't usually play f2p games but I've been addicted to this one. Playing it every day. At thus point, I got every character unlocked (except endeavor).
I levitate think this might be the best anime game to come out this year.

@Lady_rosalina I wasn't aware of the artbook. But I really shouldn't have to look for a an external source to confirm this. specially when the game heavily suggests that by having those two at the end. (not only implying that they were different variants, but that they were killed by Singularity.)

and even if they are all still in the same continuity, this is a lose-lose situation. cuz if they aren't, that means the Bayo from 1 and 2 were different people and both got killed by Singularity, and if it's all one character, then the Bayonetta we know and love became a ***** and just stands there with her mouth agape watching her other versions get killed off.

While I wish we could've seen his vision. I remember.
But if I'm being honest, Bayonetta 3 damaged the franchise to me. I enjoyed it while I played it but it ruined almost every character, and ended in such a way that I now have no interest in a Bayonetta 4. Not to mention that it retroactively made the continuity of the past 2 games worse by implying the Bayonetta 1 and 2 are AU versions and not just the sake person.

@SpaceboyScreams I just don't see it happening. Specially since they'd have to concede a lot of thr creative decisions to Nintendo. I just don't think that's realistic.

Personally, I wasn't on board when the announcement was first made, but if there's anything I learned from adaptations like Mario and One Piece is that Japanese creators figured out that, in order for hollywood adaptations of their franchises to work, they need to retain creative control, Nintendo did with Mario, Oda did it with one Piece. and I'm sure Nintendo will do it again with Zelda.
A Live Action Zelda is perfectly doable so long as they pick on of the more grounded looking games like Ocarina of Time or twilight Princess (my bet is that it's gonna be an OoT adaptation).

@Twilite9 sorry dude,but everyone who says "Ghibli should make the movie" is coping hard. When has Ghibli ever done licensed movies like that? Thats just not how they operate.

@GinMiguel I don't know if I'd count Dark Link as a "Villain" since he's usually just a shadow with no personality.

@HammerKirby Does Zelda even have 4 villains in a single game? It's usually Ganondorf and sometimes one more guy (Like Ghirahim, Vaati, or Zant)

sweet. I was actually getting close to running out of space on my 1TB (and by that I mean, I had 80GB left). I've been going out of my way to get physical copies of all my digital games. but it'll be great to have the extra storage.

@Znake yeah, people were quick to turn on Konami when they dropped him, and while there's A LOT you can criticize Konami for, Kojima wasn't exactly faultless. Specially with the constant going over budget, the problems with game scope, deadlines and the how he treated his coworkers.

Gavin, I mean no disrespect, but that's an horrible take. Not only does the Switch has a huge library that absolutely SHOULDN'T be left behind, but the Switch struggles to run even some of it's exclusive games that would benefit from more powerful hardware. are we suppose to just buy those again?

also I still have a huge library of games to playthrough, if the Next console has backwards compatibility, it's a day 1 buy and I'll transfer all of my stuff to it, if it doesn't have it, then it's a deal breaker.

I was looking forward to this. But then the devs revealed in an interview that the reason the English dub was cut was because they were changing parts of the script. That usually means "updated for MoDeRn AuDiEnCeS" which pretty much guarantees I'll never touch it.

@Cashews I disagree. personally, the Octopath style never clicked with me, but for some reason, I found the look of Star Ocean more appealing.

@JohnnyMind meanwhile here I am. being ever so unfortunate that there's almost never a portuguese translation (though knowing Brazilian translators, they'd probably just translate from the english text).

I would've prefered Tomb Raider Anniversary, but I will commend the whole "Switch Graphics between OG and Remaster on the fly" feature. The only game I've ever seen doing this was the Asterix and Obelix XXL Remaster.

I'll probably pick this up. Hopefully if it's successful we'll see a return of the OG Lara.

slightly annoyed that Mio's M costume wasn't already but I'll take Leisure Eunie and Sena any day.

I'm not only super happy they're bringing it to the Switch, but I'm elated that they DIDN't do that stupid white outline around the characters that they started doing in Color Splash.

Aang seems to have gotten one of the biggest overhauls so far (though to be far, every veteral from the first game has improved a lot). and Ember looks really good too!
