Not exited at all for the cosmetic nostalgia bait of wave 1.
Somewhat exited for the "Copied city" like single player expansion.
Ambiguous about wether to get this or get the NSO expansion when this DLC gets added there.
Rather confused about wether we will be getting back gendered characters. Splatoon 3 player characters are genderless. But Callie & Marie are def. girls. And the player character in Side:Order looks girl-shaped to me.
@Sisilly_G Agree, but I think with FEE you do NOT need to scan amiibo X to get outfit X. You can scan amiibo A, get a token (only once), then pick outfit and/or song X (to keep without scanning the amiibo again). This would suit the fact that f.i. there is a Lynn outfit, but no Lynn amiibo
As I understand it, a compatible FE amiibo gives you some kind of token (fashion and/or? Music) once and then you can choose the item you get. Is this right?
@EarthboundBenjy if you can remove a tick and can maintain focus for 30s, anybody should be OK doing this. Steady hands and follow instructions. Also: good light, the right screw drivers and a clean work space.
@Anachronism then why does anybody buy any software if they can pirate it? Because that's what most people do. And one should not "punish" paying customers for the greed of companies (or more likely: individuals looking for a raise or promotion). Companies like those that sell denuvo thrive on fear. Piracy is not a problem. Hurting your customers and making them pay for the extra expense denuvo would cost is.
Do some research before calling anybody "tremendouslu stupid". https://corsearch.com/does-piracy-impact-sales-a-look-at-the-data/
@steventonysmith piracy is not a problem because they would never buy the stuff anyway. Denuvo is a problem, because it inconveniences paying customers. A lot.
@sanderev be that as it may, nintendo does just about nothing to grow a nintendo family from one enthusiast to a system-per-person household. And those are the next generation of players and buyers. New business vs cross selling.
A platform such as the Switch selling for over five years essentially unchanged means that there should be long term scale price - and margin benefits there. Perhaps not as much as apples margins, but still some profit.
Nintendo would lose very little in sales, since who buys the same game multiple times in the same household anyway? Nintendo would even contribute to their core strategy of bringing joy by bringing families together. All the while strengthening the bond young people have with the brand and their families.
Do it. Do it now! Free family cross play! I'll even buy the family expansion pack for this!! (Note; must still work without Internet connectivity)
Nintendo needs to loosen up on simultaneous restrictions. The one thing apple is doing right these days is allowing one purchase to play on up to five devices simultaneously and more if you have a family account. I would love to play more games with my family but buying the same game for times in the same household... I don't think so!
When I left Skellige with heaps of ??? I just never returned and left them for someone else to find. Hopefully Jorund finds them and has some fun before he dies.
I have this problem but with a generic hdmi cable. Will a "better" 2.0 cable fix this? My setup is with a surround receiver and a projector, so no smart things to cause problems.
Kirby movie when? Kirby is the IP that keeps on giving. Which other IP can keep up with this release schedule? Average one per year for 30 years now! Plus KtFW is just SO addictive! Getting 100% in a first try, though you still get a feeling of effort. Such balance! Much completionism!
The EMMI made me think of the xenomorph in Alien Isolation. But in AI I think of it as my irritable friend, that I can sic on my enemies. EMMI would have been more interesting if you could/needed to use her to fix stuff for you at some point.
How about: when the console is EOL and after some years have past since closing their eshop, the server and all its eshop contents become free (not open source) but they would post all of it on github and you could download and host your own. The money to be made has been made. Give it away.
@ReaperMelia @Liam_Doolan yeah thanks Liam, I had NO IDEA! I still hadn't finished XB2 and thought I still had some time before XB3 came, but now this reveal has been spoiled.
And I will definately miss the sybaritic XB2 character style in XB3
Loved salmon run, hated the limited times. With S3 on the horizon, I must say I did not play S2 enough and yet I will have to abandon it at some point in the near future...
@jojobar even if they bought the game, they still need a doctored copy that runs in the emulator, which can only be made in ways that go against the eula. Plus it is so hard to do (I think you need a never updated first edition console), that indeed most people will have downloaded their doctored version illegally. which means: a large percentage approaching 100 of modders are pirates.
I am curious to find out why I would buy this, if I already have the other brain training Switch app. Could NL start doing comparison articles, as Nintendo starts to add semingly very similar titles? (such as mario party (2018) vs mario party: superstars (2021) and maybe upcoming splatoon 3)?
Great to see how many ports rise to the challenge and succeed at preserving most of the look & feel at less than 25% of the Watts. Save the planet, get a switch and have access to all the greatest games!
But do get an emulator for n64, because of the crazy "expansion pack" price...
How on earth did Nintendo think this is acceptable pricing? The “expansion pack” is more expensive than the original product! A more reasonable price would be along the same lines as DLC for a main game, which is about 33-50%, not 130%! If Nintendo wishes to find out how you chase away their customers, this is it! I am even thinking about canceling my current membership over this pricing.
“Wish your pro controller was smaller”? No. I wish someone made pro-joy-con already! With better wireless range and better thumbstick (like on the pro controller), and still include HD rumble and amiibo. Pretty please. I’d buy a whole bunch of those!
The way this works is even more occammy AND respects the animations in metroid games young and old: it is a combination of Samus rolling herself up like a ball PLUS a chozo oribular dimension, that does the rest. It is a dimension that has a different shape in the inside, then on the outside. On the inside, it is shaped like a person trying to roll up like a ball, and on the outside: it IS a ball! And while rolling, she actually stays still. The universe rotates and is later edited out in video for our viewing comfort.
So I WAS planning to buy an OLED model, but now that nintendo had depreciated the second hand price of my current switch, I will wait for the price to drop. Not happy.
Why are so many third party controllers missing hd rumble? Is it more difficult or won't nintendo allow it? It would be nice to get more (and better) options and form factors than what nintendo offers.
So: any pc games that were ported to switch wil run much better and be a lot cheaper on steam deck. That is a threat to pc ports on switch.
But steam deck is twice as heavy as a switch, has worse battery life, probably even worse if you get the nvme ssd and it is not fast enough to make sense as a docked machine; about gtx 1030 performance with some added modern features.
The question is: how well do dolphin, cemu and other nintendo emulators run? If you can play windwaker hd, monster hunter stories 1 and xenoblade x on it, as well as the wither 3 and portal, will it be enough to put up with pc updates, bugs, driver problems and viruses?
The $50 price difference will be negated soon enough when you buy the same games on Steam, where they are cheaper. But for example Doom Eternal on PC does not go well with a controller, at least for me. Oh and it isn’t a PC, it is linux with a compatibility layer. I don’t expect things to go perfectly smooth, like on Switch. Then again, this probably has bluetooth audio!
NVMe does require more power than eMMC, while being a lot faster. It will definitely have an impact on battery life and thermals.
Switch XL? How about “Switch Senior”, so people with declining eye sight will not need to don glasses while gaming. Perhaps in combination with special joy-con that are both arthritis-, rheumatism- AND parkinsonfriendly.
Would make a nice trilogy with the coming nier:re[in]carnation, even though that is a mobile gacha game...
