Re: Feature: What We Expect From the Super Smash Bros. Final Video Presentation

mystman12

Alright guys. I'm gonna be at work when this comes on, so I'm giving my final prediction now. And just a note, the last time there was a Smash Direct, I predicted Greninja and and City Trial mode for Smash... Look what happened! I know what I'm talking about!

So, my predictions this time are, King. K. Rool will be a new fighter, and, at the end Sakurai will announce Kirby Air Ride 2. You heard it here first! It's totally going to happen! TOTALLY YEAH!

Re: Review: SmileBASIC (3DS eShop)

mystman12

@KomrathDE I learned programming in Petit Computer. It's certainly not the most up-to-date language, but it's helped me understand the logic and kind of thinking you need to use when programming!

Anyways, SmileBASIC is soon going to become my most played 3DS app! I'm working on a pretty big project that I'll probably never finsish, but hey, I still enjoy the programming so who cares?! I honestly don't mind the touch screen keyboard, especially since I have an XL. Plus I'm pretty slow and steady when it comes to programming, so the slow typing pace doesn't phase me. SmileBASIC probably has the best keyboard on any 3DS app too, with copy/past functions, L/R for shift, autofill suggestions, and a few other nice shortcuts, so again, it's not as bad as it might sound. (There are also a few workarounds where you can type code on a PC and then transfer it via audio cable, but that might be even more cumbersome than just using the touchscreen.)

Miiverse is also an amazing part of the app. People can go on there with questions, post pictures of their code, share games, it's amazing how easy it is to get help through it. Finally, there are already some great games available that immediately make this worth the $10. Solid Gunner, Spooky Maze, Bub, Celeste (Although this is also available on Pico-8), Strawberry Storm Striker, Yuki no Reigndeer (Perfect for Christmas, and one of my personal favorite games so far!), and, of course, GSi Live - The SEQUEL!!! (Shameless plug) Not to mention all the great tools that could be made. Basically, buying this game is a no brainer. Even if you have no plans of programming, you still have tons of games and apps you can try out, and if you are interested in programming, this is a great place to start and having it with you all the time is one of the coolest things out there. (Programming while waiting in a long line is, for example, pretty cool feeling! )

Maybe I'm a bit biased since Petit Computer was what got me into programming in the first place, but I think this is a must have for all 3DS owners!

@Not_Soos I'M HERE KAR2 CONFIRMED THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW THAT'S WHAT IT IS AGGGGHA HYPE!

Hasn't even looked at the article yet

Edit: Okay, I've actually read the article now. My hype levels for KAR2 are starting to rise again. This, coupled with the huge amount of KAR concept art on HAL's website (Has more than any other game), is really hyping me up. I mean, it still probably doesn't actually mean anything, but... MAYBE IT ALSO DOES I DUNNO!!!!

Re: Minecraft Wii U Edition Has Been Rated By PEGI

mystman12

It's weird seeing a title published by Microsoft releasing on Wii U... Regardless, great news! I'm happy with the PC version, so I probably won't pick this up, but it's great people who want it won't have to settle for the lackluster clones anymore.

Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd October (North America)

mystman12

I voted for Gravity Falls, I'll probably get it physical though. I found some gameplay on YouTube and it looks beautiful! I'm pretty sure that the game, even if it doesn't end up being great, will still be fun to play through, especially as a big Gravity Falls fan!

Re: Review: Explody Bomb (Wii U eShop)

mystman12

So it's basically just trying to play two different games at once? If I wanted to do that I'd use my iTouch to play flappy bird and my 3DS to play something else. There, now I've played this game!

Re: Human Resource Machine Coming To Wii U Soon

mystman12

Hmm, looks really interesting, I'm definitely picking this up if it's good! The programming aspect looks pretty cool, although the trailer didn't exactly make it clear how the game works, but I trust them enough to make sure it's fun.

Re: Feature: The Wild And Wacky World Of WarioWare

mystman12

DIY is easily my favorite in the series. I have no idea how much time I spent making microgames, but it had to be a lot! It helped teach me some programming basics too, and while I've since moved on to a bit more advanced things, (Like Petit Computer) I still occasionally go back to DIY to make another microgame. Plus, I use the music editor for a few things too. I've recreated a few songs, and I'm making the music for the Future Pinball game I'm working on in DIY.

Other than DIY, my favorite "normal" (If you can call any of the games that!) game in the series is easily Smooth Moves. Maybe it was because it was the first one I played, but I mean, it makes amazing use of the Wii Remote, most of the microgames feel totally unique, and the multiplayer games are amazing!

Re: Chieftain Bob Meets Gunman Clive, You Won't Believe What Happens Next

mystman12

@technotaylor98 Dude, don't disregard the entire game because of this. It's not the main plot point or anything (The game practically doesn't even have a plot) and it's totally avoidable. Yes, it's wrong, but a lot of games have a little bit of sinful content that you should be able to see as wrong and just ignore. Of course, if there was an oversaturation of it, or if it was a big part of the game, that would be different, but as it stands this is just a dumb quick addition you can easily avoid. Plus, I don't think it's in the 3DS version. (Don't take my word on that though)

Re: Chieftain Bob Meets Gunman Clive, You Won't Believe What Happens Next

mystman12

Oh my gosh, just...

Look, apparently this is becoming the norm nowadays, as much as I hate to admit it and as much as I disagree with it, so can you please stop reporting on it every stinking time a video game does it?! All it does is create controversy in the comments, and it gives a game news coverage that it didn't do anything to earn. I feel like a lot of devs do it now just for easy publicity, because they know if they do it, a bajillion news sites will report on it. Even though, like, it's basically absolutely not new at all and we've already seen it a billion times now.

Re: 3DS Homebrew Hacker Turns to YouTube App As Latest Workaround for 'Tubehax'

mystman12

Well, I have the YouTube App, and I don't think Nintendo will force me to get rid of it or update it, so once Nintendo's next handheld releases and my 3DS is obsolete, I guess I'd like to try some of this stuff out. If Nintendo does force Google to update the YouTube app though, I hope they also force them to make it actually good. Like, improve the video quality, and the fact it can't play 3D videos in 3D is ridiculous.

Re: Poll: Where Do You Stand on Miiverse and Its Planned Changes?

mystman12

I'm kind of glad Nintendo is trying to make Miiverse what they want it to be, instead of just letting it become totally different and not at all unique. All the things people won't be able to on Miiverse as much anymore, (Chats, roleplays, big discussions) are all things you can do on any regular ol' forum. Hopefully after the update it will become significantly more unique, more game focused, and less cringeworthy.
