Another week begins and the European Nintendo Download Update details are now available - slightly later than normal - for us to peruse. This week brings Nintendo Selects discounts to the 3DS eShop along with a fresh retail release, while on Wii U we have some new eShop entries and a retro Konami title. There are also lots of HOME Themes for 3DS and various discounts, so let's get to it.
Wii U eShop
Momonga Pinball Adventures (Paladin Studios, €5.99 / £4.99) - A twist on pinball that previously appeared on smart devices. There's a story mode with nine levels and three minigames - Panda's Dream in which you float through the sky, the Pachinko-inspired Guachinko, and finally Arena for 'survival-mode pinball'. We'll roll into a review soon.
Rakoo & Friends (Moving Player, €9.99 / £8.99) - A blend of racing and adventure with 60 solo levels promised, this version ups its game over the smart device original with the addition of multiplayer; we'll bring you a review, as always.
Wicked Monsters Blast! HD Plus (Corecell Technology, €7.99 / £7.19) - This appears to be a HD re-release of Wii retail title Wicked Monsters Blast, which takes the shooting gallery concept and spins it off into multiple mini-games and challenges. We'll see whether this is still harmless fun for the family in our review.
Wii U Virtual Console
Konami Krazy Racers (Konami, €6.99 / £6.29) - A Game Boy Advance title from an era when all major publishers contemplated mascot-driven kart racers. This one has a pretty cool cast that includes diverse figures such as Goemon, 'Cyber Ninja' from Metal Gear Solid and even Castlevania's Dracula. We'll see whether star power is combined with fun racing in our review.

3DS Retail Download
Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden (Bandai Namco, €39.99 / £29.99) - A fighting game that's enjoyed the demo treatment on 3DS, the key modes are the Story option which follows the original manga, while there's a separate Adventure mode to also take on. Multiplayer will also be a key feature, and we'll have our review with you very soon. Available from 16th October, pre-order downloads include free theme and copy of SNES title Dragon Ball Z: Super Butoden 2.

The Mysterious Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (Joindots, 800 Nintendo Points) - Based on the literary classic, this is setup as a game of investigation; at this moment we're unsure if that's actually just code for hidden object game. We'll look closely for a review.
That's everything for this week's European update - let us know what you plan to download in the poll and comments below.

Here's hoping The Mysterious Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde will be faithful to the NES original. Right? RIGHT!?
Glad selects have gone download as well. Makes Mario Tennis an interesting option now.
@EonCow HA! I was gonna say the same thing!
Snoopy and Adventure time home themes? Nice!
Will definitely download Mario Party, Yoshi's New Island and Link between worlds at some point.
I assume this Nintendo Selects offer is permanent for the time being?
"Konami Krazy Racers" for GBA is a decent Mario Kart clone. Very tempting.
That DSi release is a disgrace, compared to what the US has been getting.
Nothing for me this week... again again again again... Eww Konami!
I'd buy Link Between Worlds and Star Fox 64 3D but I have them already. And I paid less than 20€ for Star Fox. My brother bought Mario Tennis for 3€. Unfortunately there were only two of them and he bought the second one for my sister. I'm kinda hoping for as good of a deal before I'll buy it.
@BrizzoUK Couldn't agree more! I already have A Link Between Worlds, Star Fox 64 and Yoshi's New Island, but at £15.99, Mario Tennis Open is mightily tempting!
Do we know if these eShop Selects prices are permanent?
Nothing again but that's not new. Nintendo, please give us a Nintendo Direct to reignite hype.
Wii U left for dead EVEN on the virtual console department...
Hey Nintendo, don't expect people will buy your home console at launch again with the way you've been treating the U...
At least give us some news, even if it's some nice Xenoblade videos
@Tsurii I know...need...more...hype...
Pleasantly surprised the selects discounts have come online too. Will def get a couple.
I'll absolutely get Momonga Pinball Adventures, if the Wii U version is good. I played it on the iPad, and a console version will be better than 90% of that VC crap many people seems to be want to replay on this site.
€20,- for Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is an absolute steal!!!
Really? Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde? Apart from the obvious jokes about the NES game, why would anyone want to make a game linked to a name with such a bad reputation in the gaming world? Free publicity?
Hasn't ANYONE seen Nintendo Everything?! It says the Nintendo Selects 3DS Eshop games prices are permanent!!!!
Woo Adventure Time themes! Hopefully we get Regular Show themes too.
@Desy64 speak for you self, I got plunty of content for my U, and some I have yet to pick up.
not everybody has unlimited funds to get everything at launch FYI.
The Selects titles seem to be at ShopTo for 13.85 with free delivery.
@Uberchu yes
@SanderEvers I bet it is!!!!
Envious of dutch people now...
@Sakura Wow, that's a great price for any of them, I'll have a look - thanks.
I'm kinda tempted to get Star Fox 64 3D, though I've heard that the music isn't as good as the original, so I'm not sure about getting it. I'll give the demos a try and see what they're like.
And then all America gets is a discount on some random shovelware released 4 years ago.
@Desy64 I've gotten a lot of milage out the U, but yeah, the way they're keeping us in the dark, always mentioning NX over U leaves me a bit burned. GIVE US SOME NEW INFO TO GET HYPED OVER!
Whoa, I never thought we would get Konami Krazy Racers! Everybody should definitely check it out, it came out before Mario Kart Super Circuit and is without a doubt far superior.
@whodatninja SPECIALLY after the underwhelming E3 and Starfox delay...it's too much...
A Snoopy and Woodstock theme? Here's hoping in comes to NA!
I wonder if Nintendo will ever grace us with that other Splatoon theme?
Poor showing for the Wii U this week, Konami Kart is all I'm getting (a pity the latest mobile game looks so basic as this looks very decent).
Has Selects been announced for the US? I recall it being EU but I could be wrong.
Does anybody have a valid explanation why the US has to wait until Thursday morning but EU gets their news on Monday, even though it all starts on Thursday? Sony only announces there update when it updates so I suppose it's more of a question of why EU is early rather than US is late.
Why are DSI games overly priced? Joindots seem to just convert old hidden object games from pc to the 3ds. This game seems to be from 2010.
Not a great week.
Wow! I can't believe Konami Krazy Racers is finally available on the VC!!!!!!!
I've been waiting for that game for such a long time!
It was the first game I bought along with my GBA (along with Super Mario Advance) back in the day! So many memories!
Now if only it could be made available on the North American VC........
@BigBabyPeach
Totally agree!
Krazy Racers has so much personality!
Tight gameplay, good graphics, fun soundtrack, and a true celebration of Konami's rich gaming history (before they self-imploded....).
Nintendo Selects discounts may empty my pocket if they also convert to US list... I already am in much trouble because of the Star Wars hype!!!
Wait, the Nintendogs games were still full retail price over there?
I think they have been cheap downloads ever since they were put on the eShop here.
I have Mario Tennis Open physical but it is so brilliant I will download it too for that price. So I can play it on the go. I bought it on day 1 and so much to unlock still. Mario Party 3ds is really good too.
On another note I bought mario dance mix with mat for Gamecube yesterday...OMG it is SO MUCH FUN!!!!
Those SAME games on discount. Really!?!? EUGHHHH give us some good games please.
I got Mario Tennis Open from ASDA, sealed for £5, about a year ago. It's not very good... Really enjoyed Mario Party & LBW though, which I got free on Club Nintendo a while back.
Oh and, if anyone for some crazy reason buys DBZ but doesn't want the SNES game I'll take it!
Someone needs to get the memo to Nintendo of America that it makes sense to put old games on a special program after a certain amount of time, even if only digitally, to drive interest in the system for late adopters. I think that some fence-sitters might pick a system up if they could get releases from at least the first year of the console's life at a digital discount.
Aww.. I was kind of hoping for the Yoshi's Woolly World 3DS theme to come out the week the game would finally release in the US. Japan's had that theme for a good while now. Oh well, nothing for me this week.
Konami Krazy Racers!? Oooooh! That's going straight in my basket!
Still have the Krazy Racer cart somewhere, brilliant game. What exactly are the home themes doing, aside from some background image and a couple of jingles? I wonder why people buy them, tbh.
Oh, Nintendo making sense for once and offering Nintendo Selects' price on eShop! I will download Star Fox 64 3D, although I'm not sure if the name in Europe is still Lylat Wars.
Great! Konami Krazy Racers, I was waiting for that one!
Surprised to see a vc game from Konami with all the news about them going totally mobile lately. That said, there's a ton more classics Konami is sitting on still!
I feel it's time for me to play Link Between Worlds!
I might get Zelda for 20€.
Surprise, surprise! The Wii title Secret Files: Tunguska is suddenly scheduled for an eShop release in Europe TODAY. While it cannot yet be downloaded by the time I write this, it's listed in the eShop already. I think that's the first third party release of a Wii game on the eShop. Makes one hope for more, especially as publisher Deep Silver was a fairly strong supporter of the Wii, including high quality mature games.
On the other hand, Konamy Krazy Racers is yet missing. Perhaps it'll appear later or Nintendo made some last minute release changes.
I see the new games but not Nintendo Selects discounts!! Wait, today the new games and tomorrow the discounts? Why? :S
If I have preordered Dragonball Z from Amazon UK will I get the SNES bonus code? I cant seem to find any information to confirm one way or the other!
