Re: Talking Point: Which Feature From Each Smash Bros. Game Should Make A Return?

mrjelly

I agree that Ultimate had the best classic mode, but that was about it for that game.

Trophies I absolutely loved in Melee but with the internet and easy access to information about games and series etc I think they are redundant now (I hate to say as I loved reading about the strange different characters and games, but there's no mystery now).

Equally I don't know what a second Subspace Emissary mode would do, as great as the first one was.

More battles based arcade modes like Smash Run, Target, Run, that Ultimate one from Classic mode where you out run something, they are all brilliant.

StreetSmash was ok but I just want StreetPass again so I ticked that.

Cut the roster to 6 - 8 well thought out balanced people that can be model swapped for other characters.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Super Mario Bros. Wonder?

mrjelly

I honestly don't see how this is so different from NSMB. It seems a lot easier with the badges and very different art style and crazy levels.
But this feels like it was a 50/50 on whether to call it New Super Mario Bros Wonder or make it an add on Deluxe.
I could be missing something big but nothing seems new.
The persistent narrative connecting back to World makes no sense over NSMB U either.

I'd happily be convinced otherwise but until then it's Tears and Dread for me (which sounds horrendously dark)

Re: Metroid Games You Need To Play Before Metroid Dread

mrjelly

@NinjaWaddleDee
Agree with that, I started with Fusion which was the most recent at the time and enjoyed it so went back. There's no need to scrap to play every single one.
I liked other m and it was very interesting. Give it 5 years and we'll be being told 'other m, the missed classic!' Just like Doshin the giant.

Re: The Beta For Mario Kart Tour Doesn't Seem To Include Proper Multiplayer Racing

mrjelly

I think this type of multiplayer works for mobile as people may be called away or lose connection so this makes it more seamless.
The thing that ruins it is that if you beat someone at mario run they don't know, it would keep the competition if you got a notice saying 'hey your friend beat your ghost on mario circuit's then you beat theirs etc.

Nintendo mobile is part genius (mario run controls) part horrendous (microtransactions) but will ultimately just be vapourware anyway as they're taken down from the various stores.
And the persistent connection takes out the main place to play these, on the train!

Re: Build And Play Together In Super Mario Maker 2's Multiplayer Modes

mrjelly

The story mode looks brilliant!
@Dohogerse It would seem from they're description you need at least one person online to play multiplayer, a new low in the definition of 'local' multiplayer. It's a shame you can't play and create local. Still the beginning pack seems good (no doubt story add-ons to come, themes, item updates, odyssey items)
What I'd like is a bonus mario run mini game, use the switch vertically!

Re: Animal Crossing Is Now 18 Years Old

mrjelly

I remember the sarcastic animals and absurd fact you were in dept with a greedy racoon!
The idea of having four individual saves that interacted asynchronously was brilliant.
I'd love the newer ones to have that in

Re: Rumour: Home Run Contest And Stage Builder Returning To Super Smash Bros.

mrjelly

Ah I thought this seemed quite sparse compared to previous smash Bros games. Classic and multi-man basically. It's a shame if these are all going to be drip fed. Spirit mode is basically a load of individual matches as apposed to a full adventure mode with it's own levels. 'I'm fighting kraid!' (over sized king k tool), I'm fighting a Kremlin! (Small king k rool).
But classic mode in ultimate is so good, it was about time it got a revamp and there's so many surprises in it, it's easily the best mode, plus all the characters ultimate has. It's lack of modes has made me appreciate the Wii u one more though.

Re: Video: A Look At Pokémon Snap's Cut Stages, Pokémon, Sequel Ideas And More

mrjelly

@BenAV
Unfortunately that is very much a possibility. Or just part of another game.
Seriously though this was laughed at initially if I remember as an on rails boring cheap cash in, why do people really want a sequel or is it just some internet tunnel vision campaign where any great stuff that is brought out will just be eclipsed by'oh classic, obviously no snap love'
Why don't they just do a shoddy Waluigi snap game and shut everyone up
I'm seriously excited for the direct though!

Re: Ori And The Blind Forest For Switch Spotted In UK Wholesale Database

mrjelly

@tech7
Yes I'd want more competition, not a 'two horse race'
I would love xbox/sony to get on the switch bandwagon and release similar docking consoles, there's so many good games on both I'd love to play on the train!
We've always got Soulja (?) boy's console and the creators of project cars hahah.
It appears MS have been turning the xbox into more of a 'service' for a while, leveling the gap between being on xbox or windows, the two are the same now. But of course I'm sure they have some more stuff coming out

Re: Ori And The Blind Forest For Switch Spotted In UK Wholesale Database

mrjelly

@MasterGraveheart
I didn't think about RareReplay! also... Killer instinct anyone? Ah too late, I'm too excited now
I'd love to see some boxed versions of cuphead, rarereplay and killer instinct. I suppose this may be the end of Xbox one consoles, but it'll be fantastic if all the games jump ship to Switch!

Re: Feature: Getting Reacquainted With Zelda: Link's Awakening, An Irreverent And Often Very Silly Classic

mrjelly

@DanElectrode
I agree, I'm not sure I understood the article when it said the silly stuff meant it wasn't as moving. It's nice to have a game that doesn't take it's self serious all the time. Marin's song and the mysterious wind fish always used to grip me.
I'd love to replay it as when I was younger I never got the references to a fat moustached man collecting mushrooms in the forest or turning into a raccoon!

Re: Yacht Club Games Has Delayed Shovel Knight: King Of Cards

mrjelly

@ilikeike
Well spoken! Shovel knight is so good and it's no Biggie to wait a few more months for a nice neat complete physical edition! There's plenty more to be enjoying in the interim. I do hope the amiibo rubbish doesn't lock out too much fun stuff without spending an extra however much.

Re: NetherRealm's Brutal Response To Fans Who Want Shaggy In Mortal Kombat 11

mrjelly

@shoeses
I totally agree, waluigi has got out of control, he's a sub mediocre character who will be similar to Luigi and mario, piranha plant is something different yet there's such a call for waluigi. whatever is announced, there'll be little appreciation unless it's boring old him!

I can't believe people called it insulting he was a trophy, not oh good work on an amazing game all, wow! king k rool and Ridley, wow
