Re: Find Your Way Out Of A Maze In The New Nintendo Labo VR Minigame

I'm not really interested in Labo VR, because of the technical limitations (I own a Vive, Index on the way), but I absolutely love that Ninty is making VR games and are trying out stuff.. Makes me hopefull that we'll see proper VR from them in the future (years, not decades)

Until then I'll live with DolphinVR and hopefully mainline dolphin will support VR soon.

Re: Pre-Orders Now Live For Hori's Dragon Quest Slime And Daemon X Machina Switch Controllers

I'd really like the HORI joycons, if they had battery, bluetooth and gyro.. Though I doubt they'll be useable as one handed controller..

Since launch I've been wanting joycons akin to a sawed off pro controller, that's also optimised for docked/tabletop.

I love my pro controller (not as much as gcn), but the comfort of playing with singlehanded controller is unbeatable and it can rival kb&m for shooters (almost)

Re is still the best RE game made, closely followed by 0 and 4.

Tank controls: essential, you can dodge around zombies while using the knife.. If you know what you're doing. The controls are spot on and as precise as old school Mario bros.

Fixed camera: also essential, blind angles and corners gives atmosphere. See Re4 and onwards for what you miss with 3rd person, it becomes more action and less survival horror.

Ink ribbons: yes, because you need that feeling of "don't die, don't die, don't die" Quick saves and constant checkpoints is for kitties

*: haven't played Remake yet, but still bust out the gcn for this once in a while. Knife fighting and sub 3hr playthroughs when my RE skills were at it's highest

Re: Video: Trine 4 Is Looking Absolutely Beautiful

The stereoscopic 3d was fantastic in the old games, Unfortunately they aren't planning on implementing it in 4.

That makes me a sad panda, and sad pandas don't buy stuff, they just sit there looking for someone to blame..

(I'm obviously talking pc here)

Re: Move Aside Netflix, Disney Wants To Bring Its Own Streaming Service To The Switch

kukabuksilaks

And this is how piracy will climb back up again, every bloody company wanting to have their own subscription based streaming platform because: muh money..

I'm willing to have 1 or 2 subscriptions, but who the f@ck wanna Pay for 20 different platforms to get what you can get from ~3 today..?

Bloody greedy publishers crapping in their own pie, and the consumer will get the blame in the end.

@Anti-Matter

I'm one of those gamers who doesn't really care about AAA or not.. But I also wouldn't smear butter on my tv before I play a game.. AAA or not..
This will look worse than the first Google cardboard (but hopefully it'll have less drifting). at best it'll be awful with interesting game mechanics, at worst it'll be unplayable for more than 3 minutes at a time.

Re: Video: We Weren't Sure We Wanted A Zelda: Link's Awakening Remake, Until We Got It

kukabuksilaks

When I first played through SM3DW certain passage really made me want a new top down Zelda with that engine (look), this is pretty close just more plastic-like.. I don't mind it, I think it looks great, and it'll be a day 1 buy from me.

Haven't played Links awakening since the mid 90's, so it'll almost be like a new game for me.

Since Bleh of the Wild have been bought up in the comments here I'll use this opportunity to once again crap on the play-doh weapons, annoying food crafting mechanics, lack of different enemies, the non-effort way they increased difficulty and the total absence of something that resemble a dungeon (no, those 15 minutes first playthrough divine beasts doesn't come close). It's the first Zelda game that I own and haven't finished.

Yup I'm a sour, old and grumpy git, Bleh of the Mild could've been a fantastic game but sadly there's no shovel to dig it out from under all the crappy shortcuts and bad design decisions.

Great now I'm pissy and annoyed because of a game I haven't played in over a year.. Woop woop

Re: Nintendo Participating In Virtual Reality "VRM Consortium" As An Observer

kukabuksilaks

My most played vr games (as in hours) are Nintendo games, amazing how well they work and super frustrating at the same time, because it shows that 3rd person, top down/god view and diorama-like vr games are incredibly good in VR while 98% of New 'made for VR' games are 1st person only (I'm still completely mindboggled as to why Bethesda removed 3rd person from Skyrim VR and Fallout 4 VR, and I refuse to buy them until they reintegrate it or it gets modded back in)

Back to Ninty; I do Hope they're experimenting with VR, because VR needs Ninty (or at least I need Ninty in VR) , but first Ninty needs hardware that are actually capable of running VR
