Nintendo of America has uploaded a new trailer promoting a number of existing games in the Switch library as well as multiple upcoming releases, due out later this year.
It uses games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Cuphead, and Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age to promote the fact the system now has well over 2,000 quality titles to enjoy, while driving home the point it has games for every gamer.
Nintendo Switch has over 2,000 titles and plenty more on the way! From Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to Mortal Kombat 11 to Pokémon Sword & Pokémon Shield, you’ll find something to match your style on Nintendo Switch.
Take a look at the trailer above and tell us if this makes you want to buy and play more Switch games.

This video really highlights how fantastic the Switch’s library really is. There’s a lot of trash, of course, but that’s true of every console/platform. The sheer amount of good stuff massively outweighs the bad. Nintendo is really firing on all cylinders right now, and that’s great to see.
Oh, i don't need to watch the video above.
It will have some rated 18+ games i don't even want to know.
I'm content with just the full list of Switch games from playasia.
I have already know my choices.
Should’ve gone with 2048 instead. nerd giggle
I’m actually impressed with Nintendo highlighting third party content. It drove me nuts during the Wii and DS era where great exclusive third party games like Zack and Wiki, Henry Hatsworth, Little King Story etc never made a blip on Nintendo pr.
Nice commercial. Glad they're focusing on just showcasing the great games and not showing a fake "scenario" for a group of people... not that all those commercials are bad, but in my opinion this speaks big volume to people who want a new game system.
One metric f ton of games on the switch, tons of quality ones! My wallet... it bleeds.... my backlog.... she screams.
Edit - If Reggie still promoted Nintendo - “Hi I’m Reggie, I’m about kicking a**, and taking names. And the Switch has a f***ton of games.”
And almost 220 of them (not counting NES CGC titles, of course) are on my account already. More than on any other console I own and have accounts on. But probably fewer than in my eShop wishlist yet.
Switch is Switch.
It hurts not having money to buy games and seeing that commercial. So much beauty.
It's nice that the "Switch has no games" crowd has finally been shut down...
They have evolved into the "Switch has too many ports/indies/shovelware" crowd instead!
I personally have more games on Switch than on any other single console I have ever owned. And this is only partly to do with the Switch launching after I finished college and started working full time.
I’m at 128 annnnnd counting!
Smash, Mario Kart, Zelda, Mario Odyssey, Hollow Knight, TWEWY, Splatoon 2 and Katamari Damacy. Wow, I’m on 8. That’s a whole lot to go but tbh, having a PS4 and fairly powerful PC cuts into that number quite a bit. I mostly just have a Switch for exclusives and the occasional game that I just feel is more suited to the Switch.
Except COD which is a shame 😔
@nessisonett The switch has pretty much replaced steam as my go to for indies, they tend to suit handheld perfect. Also can not see myself spending 100 hrs in front of a fixed screen to play any traditional RPG. But big AAA's its either PC or for a more laid back controller action game console at a push
Too bad I splurged my money on bit coins and gave them to a homeless guy before they went valuable. You're welcome, DONALD TRUMP
Half of them are steam garbage shoveled out. Let me ignore or hide games in the store!
Zelda, Kirby, Arms, Overcooked 2, Mario and Rabbids, Snipperclips, Mariokart. 8. Almost there!
The only thing more surprising than a Nintendo System having so many games is Nintendo’s advertising being so good. Good to see.
@ThomasS @tendonerd
It’s nowhere near 90% but It doesn’t matter. As long a system has lots of good games and lots of choice it doesn’t matter how many bad games it has.
Look at the top 5 best selling Consoles - PS2, DS, Gameboy, PS1, Wii. Drowning in rubbish. Nobody cared.
But the three on the thumbnail of the video aren't even out yet (Well Smash is but Banjo Kazooie arent playable yet)
Also quite a few of the 2,480 games are just crap
@electrolite77 This is the thing people seem to forget, the more popular a machine is the more crap sadly gets released on it as everyone wants a piece of the pie, back in the SNES days I had a Magicom (I don't do things like that now), so I used to get shedloads of titles for free - and believe me, the amount of crap that was released on that machine...
The cream still rises to the top though.
So much good stuff! I wish I had more money and time. Because next year seems to be as good as this one.
@Bunkerneath can you read? Even the article clearly mentioned existing and UPCOMING. Shoo!
So much games and not enough time to play.
@ricardosteve wow, someone really got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
@HobbitGamer 2048 is a fun game on 3ds, the switch version "physical contact" (strange name!) is better with two player mode.
But i do get the joke.
I have said it before, I will say again: it is a great time to be a nintendo fan!
"It uses games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Cuphead, and Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age to promote the fact the system now has ""well over 2,000 quality titles"" to enjoy, while driving home the point it has games for every gamer."
Well over 2000 quality titles? That is like saying the NES had over 700 quality titles out of the roughly 715-720 they licensed. A lot of them were tripe as are the Switch games. I am happy we have so many games and I am a big believer in Nintendo and their approach to quality and game play but this is stretching the bounds of reality.
I wish Nintendo would stop using stupid metrics in their marketing. Sure, it now has a huge amount of good games, but numbers in themselves are completely meaningless. I mean, sure, it has over 2,000 games. Steam has over 30,000. Android and iOS surely have more than 2,000. What's the point of this? This is all meaningless.
The real question here is how many games are legitimately having decent entertainment value. I know, this will vary from person to person, but we all know there's still a lot of shovelware and cheap mobile ports on the Switch. The important fact is that there is enough good games among those 2480 games for most people.
Nintendo should drop their fixation on advertising the number of games on their platform. What it really ends up highlighting is that a good chunk of those are garbage, and the fact that the e-shop is a mess and makes finding good games difficult. There are true gems in the Switch's library, both indie and AAA, but those are often lost among all the mobile-like shovelware.
The only problem is the lack of curation on the eShop. There's a whole lot of shovelware amongst those 2,000+ "quality" games.
@Qwertyninty COD can stay away.
@Zidentia then go play playstation. No one person will like the same game. They are saying they have a variety. You clearly have no understanding of what's going on
@Realnoize a majority of those games are good games actually. While PlayStation has a majority of crap games. That's Nintendos point.
@Dirty0814
I have a right to my opinion. If you want to troll and bash Playstation you are on the wrong site. Try an intelligent response next time.
@Dirty0814
Well, everyone has a right to different opinions, of course, but personnaly, I didn't buy a Switch to play ports of cheap mobile games. My point is that there is still a lot of awesome games on the Switch (as there are on other platforms as well), but there is as much, if not more, crappy ones not really worth of our attention.
You say that "a majority" are good games. That would mean over 1,200 games. I mean, really? You know 1,200 games on there that are actually worth playing? That you'd actually pay for? You tried them?
From what I've seen, for every Zelda or Mario Kart, there are at least two or three (if not more) Bouncy Bobs. This ratio still makes for a lot of good games. But let's not pretend that the majority of these 2480 games is all good games.
These numbers are meaningless. There are enough good games on there for everyone. That's what's needed to be said. It could have 100,000 games, if it doesn't have ones I'd be ready to pay for, it doesn't mean a thing.
@Dirty0814 blasphemy!
