I still have mine and a copy of X-zone pal version in english with box and manual.

That game is worth quite a bit..

Now add 3D Land to the select range so I can get a physical copy at a reasonable price.

Now make the replacement useable in Scandinavia..

Just spent over 7000 stars on things I didn't really want or already have in one form or another.

(I live in Denmark and had a uk account because our club Nintendo closed in the 90's. Normally I use my stars when I'm going to the UK and get my stuff sent to the hotel or where ever I'm staying, sadly that wasn't possible this time as I didn't have the time.. Really wanted that Dark Moon Diorama )

Compared to how long I've been waiting for this game Q1 isn't that far along..

(Funny, not many years ago I would have just got it on pc, now I make myself wait just to show devs that there's a market on Nintendo's platforms..)

I won't argue that WOW belongs there (haven't played it myself but that seems to make me the minority), I'm just a bit surprised that it's there now and not Space Invaders, Asteroids or even Snake as the latter could be seen to have been the catalyst to kick off mobile gaming.

when the (probably awful) american version of the movie launches and there's still no localization, then you can get salty, until then relax and don't let a "we haven't heard anything yet" tweet ruin your world (it seems like this tweet was the end of the world for some of you guys..)

sell your Wii U, bury it or destroy it and go buy a new one when the game comes, I'm still expecting this to reach the west, if it doesn't then I'll get salty too but I won't get rid of my U over it there's still to much enjoyment to be had with it..

Mass Effect 3 U = released alongside the trilogy on other platforms and was full price.

Assassins Creed 3 U = bugged and not just a little and had the added bonus of framerate issues.

Batman Arkham City U = Granted, nothing really wrong with this title.

Tekken Tag tournament 2 Wii U Edition = It is the definitive version but was already released on other platforms in September 2012 and it's a Tekken game meaning it's a niche title.

Darksiders II U = nothing wrong with it (as far as I have experienced) but the game isn't anything special and was already released on other platforms.

the majority of 3rd party games on the U have been missing content and features, had framerate issues, many bugs and/or launched later than on other platforms (launch titles are excused of the latter because that's understandable)

Imo they're losing out on software sales, there's quite a bit jp exclusive games I'd like to have but I'm not buying another console (or two) just to play them.

if they removed the region-lock maybe pubs/devs like Atlus would finally release their games with dual audio (or more), I've opted out on more than a couple of localized games due to bad english voice acting (yes it annoys me that much ).

We all have different tastes, I didn't like this. I also wouldn't have liked it for Shulk or any other character, it just annoys me and I can't give any other reason than I already have. (Haven't played the dubbed Xenoblade so I don't know that voice, I'll look it up though because you made me kinda curious. )

If I get to choose jp voices then fine but I can't live with a voice that's so "weak" (I lack the right english word light/wuss-like), and no I'm not all against Zelda voice acting it just need to be right, I can mention too many localizations where the va is just nightmarish while the OG is good, I really don't want Zelda to end up in that pile of games where the va ruins my game experience..

I agree with your points regarding the orb mechanic, could be without

on the Wipeout/F-ZEROthing, I would much rather have it move in the direction of X-treme G (especially XGIII), the best futuristic racer imo, nothing beats breaking the sound barrier while blasting your opponents with your railgun in a co-op campaign..

With all the things this review lists as flawed or badly ported I would have thought the score to be lower.. but it goes in line with other reviews here, where games that are no more than decent can recieve a 7 or 8.

still getting it when it shows up here, been battling myself since may not to get it on steam. I've been looking forward to this for a long time..

@ColdingLight you'll probably get a zelda sale too, sooner or later, just as we get the three games I mentioned later.. but we live in a world of instant gratification so I want them NAOW! just like you want the Zelda sales.

you might say your club N suck but it's better than nothing, if I lived 100 miles south of my current home I would have a club N to join, I even get codes with Ninty purchases but can't use them.. that's seriously annoying..

Oh and a lot of the Eshop pricings aren't corrected to the € or £ rate so a $14.99 game will cost 14.99 € or £ that's quite a bit more..

Ninty games hold their price way better than most games, oot3d still cost £30-40 here..

50% off after only a month! that's why I only pre-order Ninty games, I would feel seriously robbed if I had bought it at full price..

Consider getting the Gamecube version instead of Archives, I have both and the GameCube is superior imo. I bought the Wii version started it up, played a bit and then switched to the GC version.. I seem to remember the Wii version looking worse and not being full-screen. but I've only had the Wii version out of the cover that one time on launch day so it's slightly blurry in my memory..

(you'll need a GC or a Wii of course)

As with every thing that happens in the north with nintendo (or doesn't happen!) I blame Bergsala (ok maybe not the sales of tomodachi life).

1 example: I've been looking to get OOT3D and for the past month none of my local retailers has had it in stock, not because they haven't ordered it from bergsala but because bergsala won't ship more copies before the get a "large" order (whatever that means). Even most of the online retailers are out of stock (except the ones that have too high price tag, I'm not paying $10 more for a game I already have in 2 versions than I did for MK8!)

I really wish Ninty would stop working with Bergsala and just take over themselves... I'm almost positive that they would see better sales and more awareness of their products in the north if they did...

@evanescent_hero the Wiimote has a small IR camera in it, it's tracking the IR leds in the sensorbar that's how it knows where you're pointing. so yes the wiimote does have a camera.

That being said, my opinion on the animemanga part of the discussion:
there shouldn't be a ban on sexualized animemanga, it's not like the characters are forced to participate or are hurt by being drawn that way, if YOU don't like it or get offended by skimpy clad DRAWNANIMATED girls that looks like they're under 20 then don't buy or watch these product! it's simple really!

Then you say: THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN, THE POOR CHILDREN..!
to that I say, sure kids shouldn't play or watch sexualized games or shows, and I mean KIDS! now teenagers that's a different story, (remember teens is defined as 13 - 19 year-olds) teenagers are naturally curious about the opposite sex (for some it's the same sex), as they should be, this has to do with hormones and human nature, if you make everything sexual a taboo for people under 20, then how in the world are these "kids" supposed to develop a healthy sexuality as they grow up? making teens repress their hormone amplified natural lust, shield them from everything with a bit of bare skin or slightly sexual content and not talk with them about sex and all the "crazy teen desires" they have is just plain wrong, I would even go as far as calling it unnatural..

All these purists that like to give the impression of sex being bad, disgusting, something you don't talk about and that it belongs in a marriage and only when it's about making kids, are just as twisted as the people they think are destroying the moral fabric of society imo, they're just another kind of twisted... If you grow up learning that everything slightly sexual is wrong how will you know what is "normal"?

I'm not saying teens should watch tentacle-pron and play games with skimpy clad characters with giant boobs, just that you're not doing them any favours by pretending that sex is non-existent or harmful for people under 20. there's not many things in this world that are free, enjoyable and good for you so don't rob your future generations of this by making it a taboo.
as a grown man and a father I'm glad I didn't grow up in a sexual inhibited society/family and I'm glad my kids won't either.

tl:dr: thumbs up Japan!, rant about people with the twisted thought that sex and sexual desires is unnatural and something that shouldn't be talked about.
Can we get back to talking about games and when Xenoblade Chronicles X will release in the west now?
