….this is news the day after I bought a GameCube because I missed all my old games 🫠 I know this is just a rumour but it feels long overdue

@UltimateOtaku91 Vinted is pretty good for games too. Mario RPG for £30 the week after it came out, and if you have old clothes you want to get rid of you can keep the funds in your Vinted account and put it towards a game.

I sold my copy and jumped back into the older games. Sword and Shield are so much better, as is Arceus

I've been thinking/hoping for Super Switch. 'Super' is still used for games and it's a reference to how massive Nintendo was during the SNES era

Tomb raider’s still coming out in February right!?!

Ignoring my opinions on the games, I really enjoy how this review flips back and forth between the negatives and the positives and doesn’t just throw all the big issues in at the end. It’s well written and I’m glad this wasn’t thrown together as soon as the game came out

@canaryfarmer glad to hear it - I’ve been a little worried seeing all the bad press and I was hoping to get it around Christmas! But I bought the metal gear solid collection and didn’t see what all the moaning was about if I’m honest.

I know this is unrelated to SMRPG, but is anyone going to review Hogwarts legacy?? I assumed it's trash because it hasn't got one yet, but nobody seems to be saying anything about it. The only thing i've seen is that it's got load times and it isn't as bad graphically as people were expecting

@MSaturn I completely agree, plus it'll be hard to get a voice right for Link unless he's silent for the whole film

@the_beaver I bought the collection and that’s the one I’ve played the most so far - it’s the best of the 3 ports because it’s the newest game so it doesn’t seem as dated. I’ve always preferred 1&2 because of the setting but it’s a great game.

Personally I think this style works really well with the source material. There are a lot of odd characters and lighthearted/dark contrasts in Zelda games. It'd be great if a full length came out or a netflix series like castlevania

The cloud resi games work perfectly well and should be put on here. 2, Village and Biohazard are all great.

It was probably my least favourite of all the directs, but it wasn’t awful. A WW/Twilight announcement would have been amazing but Nintendo never do the expected. Tomb Raider gives me a reason to get rid of my PlayStation, and I’m really surprised more people aren’t happy about that coming out.
I’m like 400 hours into TOTK without intentions to finish it and I’ve got such a massive backlog of games, I can’t really moan about things not coming out when I don’t have time to play the things I already have.

Seven was symbolic in ancient near eastern and Israelite culture and literature. It communicated a sense of “fullness” or “completeness” (שבע “seven” is spelled with the same consonants as the word שבע “complete/full”).

Still buying. Amazing games.

Lots of stuff I wasn’t expecting - and considering how old the switch is now they’re probably just gearing up for the next console so holding back on a couple of things. Or who knows? Maybe it’ll be another couple of years.
I thought it was good, really looking forward to a lot of those games.

An alternate land like Termina would be great, Totk is a bit darker than BoTW but they could go darker

@Vortexeo I can’t imagine owning a console other than a Nintendo one, and haven’t for years. However MGS1+2 are such incredible games. I replayed the first one last year and the story still holds up

I wish they’d do a nod to OoT if you have it on the switch online service. I’d love nothing more than to be scaling a mountain and have ‘HEY! LISTEN!’ yelled at me every five minutes.

I’m only commenting on here because I decided to buy RE7 after weeks of considering it. All the reviews are terrible, but having played 2,3 & 8 via cloud I thought I’d give it a go. I thought I’d try for a refund if it was unplayable. My internet is by no means amazing but the other 3 didn’t really have any issues.
I’m about 4 hours in. I have had one laggy moment that lasted about 5 seconds. No daft load times, no stuttering. The same performance as the other three.
Maybe I’m incredibly lucky, maybe they’ve improved performance. Thought I’d mention it as so far I don’t think it deserves the low score, but understand why it was given.

@Friendly yeah I think it’d really suck if they changed the format the games came in and you couldn’t play the current ones. So many great games and decent remakes

Games and indeed consoles haven’t jumped in price at the same rate as wages. Back when I was in primary school OoT wasn’t much cheaper so I think that’s completely fair
