Re: Stardew Valley Creator Working On Version 1.6, Includes "Some New Content"

@premko1
Agree. Time moves way too fast!
I normally have to do a blind run and then restart after planning out what I'm doing for the day.
It's not chill
I also understand not wanting to abuse the system by just eating food to replenish energy while having time frozen.
But maybe there can be a compromise by significantly slowing down that timer.
People who think it's too slow can just go to sleep early.

Re: Review: Limbo (Switch eShop)

jamesthemagi

The "narrative" fits the cool aesthetics, but the puzzles, and by extension, the gameplay, are nothing that special.
It's more "fun" to witness the creative/gruesome ways the game kills the main character.
A 6/10 for me and definitely at the $1.99 sale price.

Re: Nintendo President Reiterates That Switch Is "Just In The Middle Of Its Lifecycle"

jamesthemagi

I can't see the current Switch(es) doing well after this holiday. I think the scheduled games and the current shortages will work in Nintendo's favor this whole year.
Despite splitting the user base, I think a revision makes sense more than ever. They can't release a Switch 2 among shortages. Just look at how the other 2 are struggling. However, they can release a "pro" and if they momentarily run out of chips, they can fall back on the other models.
Maybe by 2024 conditions will be better and they can start thinking about releasing that Switch 2. But the pro would boost sales in the meantime. People would double dip with Switch 2 after the release window.

Re: Kingdom Hearts Cloud Collection Arrives On Switch In February, Pricing Revealed

@fafonio
Those "bloated" GB were never going to make it into the Switch version. Considering the graphics need to be tone down and optimize the redundant code they can definitely fit it in a cart. Worse case scenario the cinematic "games" could be downloads while the gameplay ones are in the cart. In addition, I expected KH3 sold separate or if their lazy behinds thought it was too much work then release that 1 alone as a cloud. There are no excuses for this trash they are putting out. The Switch is more than able to handle KH1 & 2 and let's be real with the amount of sales they would have gotten a 64 GB makes sense for them to "invest" in.
Edit: I see you actually considered this option in a comment further down
You can't please everyone of course, but the option of the cloud is almost as bad as no game whatsoever. If this bombs, as it should, watch them blame it on the "customer" not supporting them instead of them making such terrible choices.

Re: Switch Exclusive Shin Megami Tensei V Has Already Sold Over 800k Copies Worldwide

jamesthemagi

Considering the 40% off physical sales I have seen, I guess this was to be expected. I am personally very disappointed with this "performance." It is definitely a game deserving of way higher sales. However, I recognize this is a fairly niche series. This clearly demonstrates that Atlus has failed to make it as mainstream as the "spinoff" series Persona. Guess there is still time to increase those numbers. Sucks it was released so close to Pokémon BDSP.

Re: Video: The Best RPG Ever Made Still Isn't On Switch

jamesthemagi

@enigmaxtreme
Most likely FF6 will come next year if Pixel Remaster come to consoles.
Earthbound Fandom has been highly vocal about Mother 3, maybe they finally listened
Chrono Trigger is latest "rumor" from "leaks"
Super Mario RPG is mystifying though, it was in SNES classic edition so idk why it's missing

Re: Surprise! Nintendo Has Added A 'Most Played' Section To The Switch eShop

jamesthemagi

This will mostly feature new games that are long and hurt short games.
eShop is in dire need of a review system. If Nintendo is scared of cursing in the presence of little kids they could apply a filter that keeps users from posting profanity. At the very least a star system, that could be overall or broken down into categories.
But I guess is too much work for them, just like folders in UI and themes.
Sigh

Re: NEO: The World Ends With You Has 'Underperformed Expectations', Square Enix Says

jamesthemagi

@358dayswaterson
Plenty of games that have partial downloads (ex MK11 has 26GB download aside from cartridge) They could have done that with all of the "movie" games if they wanted to do the Story so Far.
Besides I had realistic expectations and never expected KH3 as part of the package.
They could have also split the games into 1 & 2 so 2 different cartridges.
Plenty of solutions, before having to resort to cloud versions.
Their lost because they do not get my money, along with I'm sure many others.
