I got DQ 4-6 and 9 on DS
And 7 & 8 on 3DS
The problem with porting these versions is the work around the double screens, even though it was not heavy invested in some of those.
And yes, the mobile ports are poor "imitations"

Agree, I'll just play them in the old systems, but would be great if they were available at their best in the Switch too.
I know DQ is not as "known" as FF in the west, but I'm surprised they have made 0 effort to port 4-9 on Switch either.

I used to love Square, but serves them right with all the dumb decisions they have made as of late.

And Pixel Remasters not being on Switch and missing the GBA content

Astral Chain Physical New ran out yesterday a few hours after deal went life so you didn't miss it if you just got the code a few hours ago. It was your only option.

I expected sales to be great despite all of its shortcomings. I will regretfully, not be contributing to the problem.
BDSP not having megas, Battle Frontier, Distortion World, Secret Base decoration, no expanded Pokedex, no EXP Share toggle all contribute to not making this game the definitive experience for Gen 4. I have no issues with the graphics (they have really grown on me), but initially it was a slap in the face that they were not the Gen 8 graphics when the previous remakes were all made using that generation's engine. All of the missing content hurts too much for me to feel good about purchasing this. I feel like I would not enjoy this because I would keep wanting it to be all that it should have been. Going back to 1 use TM is also in my opinion a great move. The GYM leader rematches and tougher E4 are all very welcome and positive changes. No HM is great too! But sadly, this is not enough to get me to bite

For me the top 4 are pretty clear
1. HGSS
2. Platinum
3. Emerald
4. BW
ORAS would destroy Emerald if it had the Battle Frontier and how Secret Bases used to work.

7% is the median amongst tax rates so is not actually "high."
I guess it would be more appropriate to say:
Switch = 321 usd = 272 euro = 232 pound
Since in Europe tax is already included in price
The difference in price can be attributed to them having higher sales tax than US

I also hope the GBC versions of games are prioritized over the GB variants

The prob with GB and GBA games is that a lot of them were ports from NES/SNES. It doesn't make sense to have inferior "duplicate" entries in NSO so I wonder what the list will look like when a lot of great games were licensed.

That is the best you can hope for until maybe when eShop is winding down

New is too bright and lacks contrast, plus looks blurry.
Models do look better/more detailed
I also like camera angle, but the other "improvements" are a step back in my opinion.

Labor shortages are mostly in service/hospitality industry because for ex servers are tired of their employer paying $5/hr with no benefits so they refuse to go back to work under those conditions. I don't know where you live, but kids taught at 4 does not happen where I live. That is normally reserved to middle school. Maybe if parents stepped up and did their job it wouldn't be necessary for teachers to have the "talk" with their kids. Perhaps this will result in less teen pregnancies.
Gas up: Inflation has risen, so have wages. The prob is that companies are forced to pay workers more, but they don't want to part with even a tiny bit of their profits so they raise prices even more than they raised salaries. Greed is inherent to the system, not the fault of any president.

US energy dependent: well, we are always selling petroleum to other countries instead of using it ourselves. In regards of climate change: fossil fuels will run out. The virus is a tough guy to control. Masks are not 100% effective true. But if i sneeze and had a mask on, I literally have a barrier that will make it harder for you to get particles from that sneeze. And if you had one too, then that is another barrier to make it harder. Is really that simple, but you have people making a huge deal about wearing masks and that their liberties are being infringed. Vaccines are not mandatory, but Biden has admittedly made a good job of making them readily available to whoever wants them, when other countries are struggling to get their hands on enough doses.
Stop giving your loyalty to a political party. They are not worth it. Look at individuals and see how their ideals line up with yours. And don't be so passionate/fanatic about a candidate. Almost all of them are all liars and don't care about you, only $$$. Look at different news sources to extrapolate all reporter bias out and think critically.

In retrospective, 4.2GB seems too small, but for this title to not fit in an 8GB cartridge is... mystifying.
Considering BotW is 14.4GB, Legend Arceus seems about right.
However BDSP should be nowhere close the size of SwSh.
Consider that the original was less than 1GB.

In regards of transfer, Home support will not be ready until 2022.
Lots of missing info, but I'm satisfied with this trailer. There will be more in near future as they ramp up advertisement.
I do like what has been revealed so far and think is shaping up nicely. However, I'm waiting to see if all Platinum content will make it in. If not, it will be a hard pass for me.
I do think EXP Share will be present, just hope is the toggle version and not the SwSh route. They mentioned "faithful" remake with QoL so I imagine is there.
I also think the National Dex will be Gen 1-4. More is always welcome, but I personally would be content with that roster.
Same for "gimmicks." Mega Evo would be nice since region's professor specializes on Evo, but is not a must for me.
I'm basically hoping for a definitive Sinnoh experience so this has to top Platinum!

I think is hard to descend in graphics so I would them in chronological order:
Platinum, HGSS, BW, BW2, XY, ORAS, SM or USUM
Platinum is the definitive version of Gen 4, maybe these remakes will change that.
HGSS are the definitive version of Johto. So many amazing QoL features added!
BW might have best Story, but by far, in my opinion, the worst pokemon designs in the entire series. The story also forces you to play exclusively with new mons. BW2 are sequels.
XY are the easiest. Intro to Fairies.
ORAS too much water, jk The only thing keeping me from saying this is the definitive version of Hoenn is the missing Battle Frontier.
SM have better story than USUM, but USUM have more content/mons. No GYMs. They are both extremely similar so pick 1 or the other, not both.

Hahaha, there is no way I'm purchasing this without the above mentioned content. They will have to wait for my purchase and I believe many other people after searching online to see if is worth it if they don't reveal it in trailers.
After this present I'm fairly optimistic as I think is shaping up well.

Hmmm... review started off in such a positive note with visuals. However, it seems like "gameplay" is not tight. Pass for me.

My bad, I meant you didn't list it.
A lot of these would never happen in NSO because of licensing.
There are more chances of any FF getting on NSO than a those games.
The "consolation" is that SE will probably release the Pixel Remasters on consoles.
I hope they fix the font situation before they port it though.

You completely neglected to mention FF 4-6

The trees do look a little better in texture, I agree. And their color palette is indeed more in line with originals. Lucas also has more details.
However, the rest of the background is FAR worse. Look at the grass. There is no contrast. The whole background is just a blurry, washout mess. I am reserving judgement until future trailers as these pictures were obtained from "filming" a Switch screen, not actual game footage.

I think 4K and exclusive games should be saved for a Switch 2/next-gen, not a Pro.
But to boost sales Nintendo really needs a stronger chip (maybe when they run out of Mariko) that helps FPS of struggling games, while maintaining battery life.

I don't think is fair to count the Switch Lite in these numbers vs previous consoles, as it is not a "home console."

Actually, I believe is fair for developers to ask the public where they would like to play their games. It cost money, time and resources to port the same game to different platforms. And most people would not double dip.
SE is full of it though in this instance because they know fans have been clamoring for this.

If someone has a problem with extra content they are welcome to abstain from it. Is not like someone is pointing a gun at their head to use Yang at the final dungeon of FF4 instead of the usual 5 party members. Inversely, forcing me to play with only those 5 usual party members does "limit" my experience when another version offered this. I suspect many people, myself included, will turn away from this release if it has this limitation.

I used the word "hinted" because of their use of the word "may" but I agree with you, most likely 1-3 are directly taken from the original NES releases. However, the individual pages for 4-6 do not have similar statements so hope remains.
EDIT: Ah ok, I see. I thought your problem with my statement was the qualifier "hinted" and not a definitive "no."

But FF 4-6 pages are vague

I would like that FF Collection. Well, I don't really need the entire collection. I will gladly pay yet again for 4 and 6! And I think it makes sense to release them on the Switch since they are not in NSO and 7-10 + 12 are on the platform already

As far as this article's topic, not revealing Switch as a platform is information withheld on purpose. It's simple business. They are trying to get you to double dip.

I understand the Switch is behind in terms of power so all games are not possible there, but some people like to compromise on graphics, for portability, I think it is great to give people more choices. These also helps developers as some people would not be able to play the game if it wasn't because of its portability.

Too bad it obv won't have Nintendo exclusives but seems promising.
The other bad thing is Dock sold separately, but if you play on PC you can pick up right where you left off.

I have a 512 GB card and I think it will be enough as I buy 1st party and 9GB+ games all physical.

Alternatively, a backwards compatible Switch 2 may make getting that size more sense

I believe reading 10% wiggle room space was the magic number for files to decompress if necessary.
So 900 GB used storage should b fine on that card and leaving 3GB on Switch internal is ok too
