@Jimmy_G_Buckets If they release a Switch 2 in the future that is backwards compatible, I see them creating a Selects line where they can sell 1st party games 50% off as regular price.
Bayonetta 3 Legend of Zelda Breath of Wild 2 (35th Anniversary) Metroid Prime 4 (prob too far out) Pokemon (prob on 2/27 announcement) Earthbound would be great!

@Cosmofantasmo I'll recommend some older games not mentioned here you can look into: Bravely Default Conception 2 Children of 7 Stars Corpse Party Back to School Dragon Quest (VII) Fire Emblem Awakening (Fates Revelation, Valencia) Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance Kirby Planet Robobot M&L Dream Team Miitopia Prof Layton (Series starts on DS) Pokemon XY, ORAS, USUM (HGSS on DS) Pushmo Shin Megami Tensei IV, Devil Survivor 2 Stella Glow (like Luminous Arc and FFTactics) Super Mario 3D Land (Duh!) Legend of Zelda (Link Between World, Majora, Ocarina) Tomodachi Life Yo-kai Watch 3 Zero Escape: Virtue Last Reward (9Hr, 9 Person, 9 Doors is on the DS)
DS Advance Wars Dual Strike Chrono Trigger Digimon World (Dusk or Dawn) Dragon Quest (4-6, 9) FF Tactics A2 Golden Sun Dark Dawn Magical Starsign Pokemon Mystery Dung Explorers of Sky Suikoden Tierkrais
I tried not to double dip with franchises found on Switch and pick from my favorites. 3DS is an amazing handheld!
@Ralizah Mobile gaming has taken over so much of the market in the past few years I am all for Nintendo (or anyone else really) to continue making quality handhelds. The industry is unfortunately moving away from this though Even Nintendo has entered the mobile gaming market
@Kirbo100 If they can figure out how to rework the UI of some games I would love to have 3DS games on Switch Loved Bravely Default (just hated how the mid-end was handled) Also agree on the FE and SMT As cheesy as it was, I enjoyed Conception 2 Kirby Planet Robobot which is way better than Star Allies A sequel to Tomodachi Life Prof Layton series Stella Glow will never happen
@Ralizah With mobile games taking over, handhelds were fighting a loosing battle I myself much prefer physical controls, but people enjoy the convenience of loading up games on their phones The Switch really was a genius idea It was the only way to save handhelds
Yeah that sucks! Hopefully it will spring up I really enjoyed it Picked up on release as I figured 3DS was on its way out and would die soon Good luck!
I would like to add Miitopia and Yo-kai Watch 3. Cpt Toad is fine on 3DS, but is available on Switch so its inclusion on this list makes no sense. Every other amazing game I can think of came out before 2017 or the franchise is represented on Switch currently.
@Heavyarms55 I would love a route where: 1. All 3 lords confront Rhea and she goes into exile 2. All 3 lords deal with TWSitD 3. Edelgard dies saving Byleth and Dimitri 4. Claude joins Dimitri in stopping an invasion from his father 5. Ferdinand becomes ruler
A Selects line would go a long way of boosting sales if Switch successor is backward compatible. It would also encourage household to double-dip, specially for multi-player games.
@Tandy255 Yes, Selects are also on eShop The prob with Selects is that they are dependent on region because is based on sales If EU Nintendo branch decides sales are stagnant for a particular game, then they make it a Select. However, if MK8 keeps topping charts, it will not become a Select.
@Tandy255 It is my understanding a lot of work went into Awakening visual. I agree, don't think is worth $60 You can buy it 2nd hand as your way of showing Nintendo your middle finger or wait for a "Selects" line in the future. I'm expecting "Selects" to be priced at 50% = $30. If they go for $40, I'm sure they will go on special at stores from time to time.
@Tandy255 They should be cheaper because there is no 3rd party involved, no cartridge, no case, no plastic wrap, manuals don't really exist anymore but that too. However, stores would drop games if they are cheaper on digital storefronts That's Nintendo for you, they barely ever reduce their games. I disagree with you anyway. Games Don't lose value over time. If sales slow down because most people interested already have it or others are hesitant at the price, I think a sale is the right call until Nintendo decides to do a permanent price decrease with a Selects line. Probably when a backward compatible Switch 2 comes out with sequels for those titles. I do think a whole bunch of Wii U ports that barely had any work done to be moved to Switch should not have been released at full retail pricing
@Res462 You can share games, you just can't all play it simultaneously If you buy a physical game, you don't expect to be able to play it in multiple consoles.
@Jackharvest They can all share games, just not play them at same time Same as if you buy physical, you can pass the cartridge around but impossible to play simultaneously
@Ragdoll72 Is design that way so you cannot play the same software simultaneously. Is the same thing as buying a game physical You can share, but you can't both play it at the same time
@cleveland124 No, it was designed like this on purpose You cannot use 1physical game cart to play a multiplayer game on 2 switches at the same time. Likewise, you are of course not allow to do the same with a digital game.
@Gerald It is annoying, but not at all difficult "Main" Switch is your portable one And the one you always have home would be secondary as it can always connect to internet Is not so bad, at least we can do it
@Friendly Louis! Oh and completely unrelated, but after seeing your avatar I love FE7! I can imagine a trilogy: FE7, then FE6 and a new game or DLC that takes place before FE7, where we see all the heroes and Nergal during the Scouring.
@Friendly Yes, I forgot all about Kingdom Hearts for a sec I don't expect 3, but "The Story so Far" would be awesome! Chrono Trigger would also be very welcome. As well as Tactic Ogre: Knights of Lodis!
DQ 1-3 are available on Switch for $23.97 total So DQ 4-9 for $60 total seems reasonable. FF 7-9 are each $20. FF 10 and 12 have been $20 plenty of times physical. FF 4 and 6 for $20 each or $40 physical seems like a good deal to me!
I would be all over: FF 4 (with the extra content from all the diff versions) and 6 (with extra character from GBA) if they release on Switch. I would also take DQ 4-9
November is not considered "soon", right?
I think the Pro/revision would be worth it with some significant upgrades:
5000 mAh battery
6 GB RAM
64 GB Storage
More powerful chip (to run games smoother, not for exclusives)
If not, I'll wait for a backwards compatible Switch 2 with all of the above or better, along with a larger screen
@Brummieendo90 1st party definitely physical! However, there are an incredible sheer amount of indie titles that are only digital. The profit is coming from raised game prices vs. Wii era. Also, % wise the Switch is selling more software/console
I am including my own personal review for anyone who may still be on the fence. This game is light on "gameplay." You will "guide" the Old Man on his Journey by manipulating platforms. There are no instructions, but after messing around with the control you get used to the flow. Using touchscreen is more intuitive, but at the expense of the TV. There are a few "cute" environmental interactions in an attempt to keep the constant platform maneuvering from getting stale. Playtime had to be kept low at 2 hours or the game would have become boring from the repetition. The graphics most closely resemble a story-book style. They are charming, but not amazing. The music progressively gets better up until the final "act" where it dips in appeal closer to the first few tracks. The soundtrack never reaches a level of utter nostalgia; it is not epic or likely to stick with you, but it is adequate at setting the mood. This is a relaxing experience. It is a palette cleanser in between two huge games. It could also serve as a brief break from an intense, time-consuming game. The puzzles are challenging enough to give you pause, but never anything to make you stuck, angry or looking up the solution. I recommend you complete it in one sitting for maximum emotional impact. The story is touching, but not as deep or powerful as it was hyped to be. I was left wanting more (not the platforms) depth. The foundation/intro was very solid. The resolution was satisfying, even though it was predictably bittersweet, devoid of surprise. However, the body of the story was very hollow. I consider anything above 60 enjoyable. My personal score is 64/100. Overall, is not a bad game. Nothing truly stands out though. Every aspect of it is pretty mediocre. If you see it on sale for $2, then I say go for it, is worth that.
@SwitchForce 4K Docked on a huge TV I understand 4K Portable is ludicrous ppi wise with that size of screen, not to mention it would eat the battery in few minutes. The future will continue tech advances, but I don't expect a Switch 2 capable of a 4K screen. Maybe Switch 3. In any case, I hope for a toggle, when that eventually happens, to have option of lowering resolution to increase battery life. Is not about how much "you" or even I are willing to pay. Selling less Switches for a higher price makes no business sense.
@SwitchForce
Personally, 4K is not a must. I welcome it, but it is not necessary. I much rather the money go towards chip, RAM and/or storage.
Swappable battery is a great idea, specially if they don't want to spring for 5000 mAh and want to pass on that expense to customer.
In regards of cartridge size, I imagine something along the lines of DS vs 3DS, with a nudge so new games cannot fit/run on current Switch. I expect current digital games to also cross over to it.
@SwitchForce Bigger is better of course! My numbers were meant as a min for that price tag. Unfortunately, I think your specs are impossible with your price point And we cannot expect a larger price tag as Nintendo should and actually wishes to maintain a competitive/lower price than other consoles
My wishlist for "Switch 2":
1. Powerful chip: Be able to play more demanding games. Make all current games 60fps
2. Screen size & Resolution: 7.3in 1920×1080 screen with "power-saving" toggle to 720p resolution and smaller bezels
3. Battery: 5000mAh
4. Backwards compatible: to current Switch
5. Internal storage: 64GB
6. RAM: 8GB
7. Better Joy-Cons
8. Price: $400
Nintendo is all about innovation. I think they should continue to experiment. They should keep pushing on boundaries to give us the next brilliant idea, the next "Switch" However, that should be a second line, on the side. The Switch deserves at the very least a direct successor with backward compatibility that improves on performance through a more powerful chip. By the time it is released, maybe 4K TVs will be widely available in the homes of gamers to make it an attractive feature for the console. I am content with 60 fps 1080 p, but more is of course better.
I am not a Nintendo fanboy that needs to come out in its defense everytime anyone bad-mouth it. In fact, I'm very disappointed with how they have handled the Joy-Con fiasco. I had a good image of Reggie prior to this moment. You don't go around talking about internal matters just to make yourself look better.
