I've never played a game in my life where i've been so excited to die and start over again. I struggled my way through to one glorious victory, but now 1BC seems 5 times harder, i love the game but i give up.
The Switch can't even run Daggerfall at 60fps or Heroes of Might and Magic 2 or Tetris. Surely i got yas all there ey, ey, ey. (I feel so clever, they didn't pick my trollin')
@rjejr Xenoblade X as a game was just too laborious. The scenery was beautiful but i felt like the game was a forced narrative, a fetch quest and a grind. Breath of the wild feels like a joy to play in all aspects and Nintendo found a way to make grinding fun (or non-existent) with the shrines. I get your comparison but Nintendo really nailed it with BoTW (with Monolith's help). Btw- original Xenoblade Chronicles is a top 10 game for me
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Yeah i'd say Super Metroid is still the only example of gaming perfection there is, although i've always ranked Ocarina just ahead of it. I've beaten Breath of the Wild but only just started it really and even with its faults it could be the greatest ever. I actually get more of a NES Metroid freedom vibe out of BOTW and i think that's great
It's pretty clear why Axiom Verge is not getting the green light. Nintendo doesn't want anything to take away from their imminent announcement of a Retro-developed 2D Metroid for Switch releasing between September and October. You heard it hear first
The failure in sales of the Wii U was a blessing in disguise. I preferred the ds and 3ds to the wii and wii u anyways but the sales situation warranted a closer internal look at Nintendo's strengths. The Switch is closer to what i've always wanted from a system
If portable power was super important to me, i'd lug one of those $3000 Asus or Alienware gaming laptops around with me, but it's not. Which is good, cos the chiropractor's bill would probably match the cost of the laptop
After seeing the basketballers in the Switch reveal EA are looking forward to seeing grid iron players take off their helmets and set up the Switch and Madden next to the field post-game!
To be quite honest, I think the rabbids need to be left in their warren. I've never encountered anyone young or old with true adoration for a rabbid. UweBollSoft are at it again?!
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Amen! Pretty much every Nintendo game I've sat on the fence of buying, I would have definitely bought if they were reduced to half price beyond their new release window. Animal Crossing is still full price years later, Donkey Kong T:F the same, I'd give the maligned new Star Fox a crack as well at the right price. I didn't pay much attention in my economics classes in high school but surely any profit made is better than none!
Even though Super Metroid is the dictionary definition of insurmountable, just to play another 2d Metroid with those mechanics would make me happy. If it's good enough for Nintendo to flog off the 'New' Super Mario platformers, surely they can toss us faithful fans an old school Samus bone every so often
It's just like all the ads for those medieval strategy games on mobiles that have heaps of cgi models only to look like Populous level graphics in game. But at least they say "Not actual gameplay footage"
Loved this game! It had a surprisingly large amount of attack diversity for being limited to a controller with only two buttons. I felt the fun was in mixing up your attacks like being artists of brutality, spamming your way through would've made it boring
This whole spelling debate is redundant. The grammar standards of the world are so poor these days that spelling colour as color is irrelevant, every1 noes wot it means
I remember playing quite a bit of Tetris DS online a few years back and found that I started dreaming never ending Tetris games in my sleep. This guy must be hallucinating tetris pieces during the day after playing it that much!
Playing 3 player co-op on a multi tap on Secret of Mana back in the day is just about as good as I've got out of gaming. The battle mechanics were amazing. I'd love to play this next one although it's a bit of a bummer it's only single player
What an annoying comments section. Most people go about on their merry way of piracy in the privacy of their own life. When ppl try to justify it or 'clear' their own conscience with technicalities it's plain silly. Everyone does it, just admit it and move on
Didn't vote but the 3 most life-changing were:- 1. Ocarina 2. Zelda 2- (the best combat system imho) 3. Zelda 3 Maybe it's a bit silly to argue over what's the greatest, cos they are all great in their own right. Can't wait for the next one!
I'm about 95% thru xenoblade chronicles, hopefully i can get it done b4 the new one comes out. I'm a little frightened about the scope of X considering theres been times i've spent 4 hours in the menu just crafting gems/ sorting weapons/ organizing skill trees etc without moving forward in the game- but i suppose 4 hours spent there saves you 20 hours later on
@bloodycelt FFT for $50 ain't so bad really, but i see your analogy. In 1994 my family bought NBA Jam for $140 Aus. Street Fighter 2 was $140. In the 80's NES games were between $80-$100 each. Now in 2015 i haven't paid more than $70 for any Nintendo game. I feel like the prices are getting better. Btw- NBA Jam was worth every cent and more!
I don't see any need to whinge about pricing here, i don't think they'll be skimping on content. FE:A is the best game i've played in years so i'll pay whatever for everything i can get in the series next installment.
If this one flops i'm gonna start learning Japanese so i can play the games when they're first released. Could've played new Xenoblade and Fire Emblems if i used some initiative!
I am pretty sure the whole doge thing is making fun of an Asian person who misspelt dog as doge and their inability to construct proper english sentences. Then it took off and now anything can be made into a broken-english doge sentence for cheap laughs. Personally, the hilarity lasted about 1 millisecond when i heard it 3 years ago
Haha. You ppl blame Miyamoto when he DOES allow mediocre games to be released and now you also blame him when he DOES NOT help the release of an awful game. You should blame him for keeping the video game industry alive while you're at it- 'Now I have no social skills cos Miyamoto got me addicted to these stupid games'
I hope Splatoon's success inspires them to keep bringing new stuff to the table. The resources spent on some of these half-baked spin-off games coming out could be better used on fresh ideas
I think everyone is missing the point here. Nintendo is not cool anymore. Even if they brought out a system 10 times stronger than PS4 public perception would still say they suck. The only way Nintendo can turn it around is to dig into their massive warchest and give J.R.R. Martin a brown paper bag with a billion dollars in it, to write Link as a main character into the storyline of Game of Thrones. This would completely change their public perception and eventually rake in the $$
These people seem so entitled. Sometimes in life you have to 'grow a pair' and do it on your own. If i were to ever develop a game it would be the opposite of zelda, mario and doom. Cos ya can't beat them
