@chiptoon I don't think it's that simple. If it was only ports connected to nothing then sure, a swivel seems pretty trivial. But these ports are connected to passageways for data and electricity, which don't spin themselves.
@Serpenterror Yeah maybe I was wrong to characterize N64 as a win. But it did sell 33 million units and I would say is more widely loved and respected. Gamecube sold 22 million and the Wii-U 13.5.
@Drew250 Me too. I would get stuck somewhere and my brain would just be in a frenzy: "how do I proceed??" And I would go to sleep with that and usually wake up the morning after with an idea of something new to try.
@EaglyBird True, true. I agree. It was also Team Cherry's whole shtick the whole time, even with the first game. Every interview they said something like: "oops, we tried to make this little thing but then we accidentally made it 1000 times bigger and we wanted to make it really good so it ended up taking 10 years instead of a month."
I am trying to say something positive, I don't know if that's evident Let them cook!
@MrJellySandwich I feel that they did a great job with TOTK. I enjoyed BOTW more, because it was so different and new. But TOTK was awesome, and is the more complete game in my eyes, out of the two.
@Pat_trick I feel like we say that with every generation, and with every generation that is exactly what happens. Nintendo matches more or less with the power of the previous generation, while the new generation is already halfway over.
It disappoints me too, but I guess they know what they're doing. The Switch was awesome.
Played the demo, I think it's really cool. I recommend trying the demo. Not sure if I have money/time for the full thing right now, but I definitely want to play it in the future.
inb4 Anti-Matter: "question, does this preview make you feel more excited about the new SMB game" Answer: "no, I still prefer style of Kitty Blox Hunky Fighter for PS3."
@Friendly BG3 isn't that interesting for me personally. Zelda is a lot more my type of game. But I think it's getting more hype than TOTK. It's the highest score on metacritic for a PC game ever, if I'm not mistaken.
Also I'm with the IR pointer guy. I miss it so much, now that NL made an article about it it popped back into my brain. Great pointer in Switch 2 pretty plz, Nintendo...
Thanks for the comments, guys. Given the excessive amount of talking, cutscenes and handholding that you all described I will not be downloading. These things turn me off a game completely.
@CRASH64 Dude, how many man hours were poured into this game in 6 years of making it? This obviously is going to be a labour of love and great care. That costs a lot of money. The hardware has its costs: stronger hardware allows or requires things like higher resolution assets, which cost a lot to make. But it's far from the only cost in making a game. This game cost a ton to make, no matter if it's on Switch or PS5.
Whether that warrants a $10 price hike, that people can argue about.

Woah, he buffed everything.

Re: 'Moonglow Bay' Looks Delightfully Cosy, And Launches On Switch Next Month
Heavy inspiration from The Touryst, I imagine.
Re: Review: Balatro (Switch) - Devilishly Compelling Cardplay, And A Clear GOTY Contender
Curious to see what LocalThunk the developer adds to the game in the next months.
Re: Review: Balatro (Switch) - Devilishly Compelling Cardplay, And A Clear GOTY Contender
@FantasiaWHT I played about 20 hours of the 2nd demo, not sure how many in the first demo, and have 40 now in the full game.
For me this game has plenty staying power. And 90% of deckbuilders/roguelikes don't grab me like that.
I agree about flushes vs straights though. Straights are not super viable. Just not a big issue for me.
Re: Feature: Avoiding Co-op "Frictions And Frustrations" In Roguelite Restauranteur 'PlateUp!'
What a deep-thinking dev. That was fascinating.
I haven't played the game but enjoyed watching it being streamed.
Re: Nintendo Shares Hit Record High, Apparently Thanks To 'Switch 2' Fever
@Serpenterror Yeah maybe I was wrong to characterize N64 as a win.

Gamecube sold 22 million and the Wii-U 13.5.
Re: Nintendo Shares Hit Record High, Apparently Thanks To 'Switch 2' Fever
Nintendo alternates between financial success and failure with their consoles since the N64.
N64 - win
Gamecube - fail
Wii - win
Wii U - fail
Switch - Win
Will Switch 2 break the curse?
Re: Suika Game Gets A Special Christmas-Themed Update, Here's A Look
@Joeynator3000 yeah, gives you another music track most importantly.
Re: Feature: Zelda, "Linguistic Chaos", And The Challenges Of Bringing 'Outer Wilds' To Switch
@Drew250 Me too. I would get stuck somewhere and my brain would just be in a frenzy: "how do I proceed??" And I would go to sleep with that and usually wake up the morning after with an idea of something new to try.
Man, this game...
Re: Feature: Zelda, "Linguistic Chaos", And The Challenges Of Bringing 'Outer Wilds' To Switch
I love this game. Anyone who gave up, I encourage you to give it another hour.

Re: Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition Finally Blasts Onto Switch Next Month
Top 3 of my favorite games of all time.
Don't learn anything about it, just go in blind.
I hope it's good on Switch.

I second Rauru.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 21st)
SMBW is awesome so far and is a pleasant surprise. I thought I was tired of 2D Mario but this is proving me wrong.
So creative, so highly polished.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 30th)
@Judgedean ooh that looks cool, I might try it.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 30th)
@120frames-please You know, sometimes I look at your username (and the old one with the 60) and it pisses me off.
But I'm now realizing that I am exactly the same sort of framerate snob.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 30th)
Playing Cocoon on PC for the framerate and sharp visuals. Fun and trippy so far.

Re: Review: Chants Of Sennaar - Enchanting Anthro-Puzzling With A Side Of Frustration
@theModestMouse the game remembers your guesses for you, and writes them on the screen when you see that word again.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct Showcase?
It was better than I expected. But I'm waiting for 3D mario.
Re: Random: Someone Created A Zonai Dragon In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
@Friendly and imo:
BOTW was ground-breaking, and incredibly fresh.
TOTK is not, it's just really good

Re: PlayStation Exclusive Platformer Tomba! Is Getting A Nintendo Switch Release
Funny to see that I'm not the only one, it's like everyone got stuck somewhere in this game
I remember being stuck for a long time in the very beginning. There's something with the windmill...
Re: PlayStation Exclusive Platformer Tomba! Is Getting A Nintendo Switch Release
Tombaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Re: Random: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Devs "Too Occupied" To Play Elden Ring

Re: Feature: The One Thing Wii Did Much Better Than Switch
Yes yes yes. I've been missing this so much. RE4, Splatoon, Pikmin, Metroid Prime. Just way less fun and intuitive without it.
Re: Review: Disney Speedstorm - Great Courses And Characters, But Stutters On Switch
@shake_zula oh wow, I could not figure it out by myself. Some guessing + googling and I found it. Smart NL, smart.

@CharlieGirl so inflation does not exist?
