AND we know a 4DS is coming soon, because it's going to interact with a handheld, and Switch Lite isn't it, because Nintendo already said Switch only replaces the massive commercial failure Wii U, which is a home console, thus Switch Lite is a home console, meaning their next handheld, the 4DS, is coming soon, so it can interact with this!!!
Correction, this was a Wii U game, it has to be since the Switch only gets Wii U ports, not 3DS ones, because no one played Wii U games due to less than 1 million people owning one, unlike the 100 million selling 3DS. Please fix your error, thank you.
@rjejr a game can be close to completion and still scrapped. Animal Crossing's app was supposedly done, then scrapped by Nintendo, and delayed more than a year to redo everything, so who's to say this didn't get scrapped as well? Look at Super Mario 64 2 that never came out.
Hopefully, they'll finally reveal Nintendo's next handheld! I badly want the 3DS's successor since Switch Lite isn't it, because Switch Lite is a Switch and according to Wikipedia, Switch is a home console that replaces the failed Wii U- a home console, thus Switch being a home console means Switch Lite is a home console. All in favor of Nintendo 4DS raise your hand! One... two... three... four... five... six... seven- this could go on a while!!
Such a wasted effort putting a handheld focused game like Link's Awakening on a home console! Since Switch Lite is a Switch, and according to Wikipedia Switch is a home console only replacing the failed Wii U (a home console), not the 3DS (a handheld), it means Switch Lite is a home console since it's a Switch and Switch is a home console. Shame I can't play this on the go like its original version. Oh well, if it can't be played on a handheld, I'll just have to pass since I only play handhelds, and according to Wikipedia, 3DS has no successor.
Yes, it's an extremely well selling home console, but I'm still waiting for Nintendo's handheld to drop, so I can finally take these games on the go! Face it, Wikipedia calls Switch Lite a Switch, and says Switch is a home system, only replacing the failed Wii U (a home console), not the 3DS (a handheld), thus Switch Lite being a Switch, and Switch being a home console means Switch Lite is a home console. Again, when Nintendo releases their next handheld, I'll be all over that! Until then, we've got to wade through all these home console releases, even if some of them started out as handheld games.
Not as glamorous as you think, I've worked in game development, and it actually sucks! You don't play the finished product, you have to do repetitive actions over and over. It's not worth it unless you have a degree in programming, and want to use it.
It's great and all that they're putting this on their home console (Switch/Switch Lite), but it's better suited to handhelds- should have been on the 3DS/3DS successor. Look, Wikipedia calls Switch Lite a Switch, and says Switch is a HOME CONSOLE only meant to replace the failed Wii U, and it is NOT the 3DS's successor, so you can stop arguing with me, they're the authority on the internet, and what they say is fact, Switch Lite is a HOME CONSOLE due to being a Switch which is a HOME CONSOLE!
They were planning on putting a handheld game on the Wii U? Clearly this is a Wii U game quickly ported over to Switch like Odyssey was. I'm surprised they'd put a handheld game on a home console, but not too surprised, they ported Link's Awakening to Switch, another handheld game put on a home console. That's great and all, but I think handheld games should stay on handheld systems, and Switch Lite is a home console according to Wikipedia (it's a Switch and Switch is only a home console meant to replace the failed Wii U according to them, thus Switch Lite is a home console). When Nintendo's next handheld comes out, I'm all over that, they've been pushing their home console, the Switch, for a long time now.
Since I only play handhelds, I'm stuck playing the 3DS since Switch Lite is a home console without television output. Look, quit arguing with me, Wikipedia says Switch is a home console only meant to replace the failed Wii U, which is why it came out when Wii U was only a couple years old, and not the handheld line, the 3DS. Since Switch Lite is a Switch, that makes it a home console, and they also say 3DS's successor is NOT Switch Lite, thus Switch Lite is a home console! I only play handhelds now, so when the next handheld comes out, I'll get it and play something, but until then, I guess I'll play some New Leaf, some 3D Land, all the "new" games they've released for their handhelds.
Who cares? According to Wikipedia Switch is a home console, because it only replaces the failed Wii U (a home console), not the 3DS (a handheld), thus Switch Lite is a home console, so just hook the thing up to a television to play it. It'd be a bigger deal if Switch Lite were a handheld- quit arguing Wikipedia says it, so it's fact, Switch Lite is NOT A HANDHELD!
But I don't want to buy another home console, I want a handheld already, and according to Nintendo, their fanboys, and Wikipedia, 3DS has no successor, because Switch Lite is simply a Switch, a home console, and I want to play on the go with a handheld! Come on, Nintendo give me another handheld system to play already, the 3DS is REALLY old!!
Who cares? Just dock it! Oh, wait, this supposed "home console" that only replaces the failed Wii U (another home console) can't be docked or display on a television, which despite that is still considered a home console on Wikipedia. Hmmm...
@Roronoa11 ain't happening, the 3DS will fail to reach GBA's level (a system only lasting 3 1/2 years before its successor launched, which is why GBA is so low). It'll go out quietly like it has been- discontinued, then Nintendo finally admits the Switch Lite really was the 3DS successor after all.
Nintendo and their fanboys: "Switch is NOT the successor for the 3DS, it's got a long life ahead of it"
Nintendo *shuts down every meaningful app while insisting it's still "alive" leading fanboys to echo the statement.
Face it, the 3DS has been dead since Switch launched, it's had pathetic releases in 2018, nothing by Nintendo themselves in 2019, and Switch Lite is its true successor despite what Nintendo (and Wikipedia- likely being edited by fanboys anyway) says.
@Sgt-Jack-V the NES's release is also debatable, because only New York had access to it in 1985, because it was test marketed there between October and December, the rest of the country wouldn't see the NES until 1986 when it went nationwide. I first played it in 1987 after a friend got it for Christmas in 1986.
@Teksetter 1986, as the cabinets came out in 1986 after the NES went nationwide (it was only sold in New York in 1985, the test market, no one else outside New Yorkers had access to NES games).
"... if you don't have an NES at home, you can play the game for yourself on Wii, Wii U, or 3DS via their digital stores..." What's a "Wii U"? Never heard of it. I did hear about this one tablet add-on for Wii.
This is just INSANE! Japan is no longer a handheld focused country, the home consoles Switch and PS4 are dominating the 3DS and Vita! It's amazing that after 30 years of Game Boy and DS lines dominating Japan that a home console would take over the market for the first time since the Famicom, which debuted before Game Boy! WOW! I never thought I'd see only home consoles dominating Japan, and handhelds nowhere to be seen! Mark this era down as a new time for Japan, handhelds are officially dead there, home consoles finally rule Japan and the West!!!!
@Brianst0rm just leave your system on continuously, it'll count as "play time" despite not actually being played- I tried it myself after this, and sure enough after 12 hours of sitting with me not touching it, the counter went up 12 hours. So, all you need to do is leave it on continuously, and it'll count. Kind of stupid really, because if you're not actually moving the controller, you're NOT playing!
Just came by to be Captain Obvious- running and playing are two VERY different things. The game ran for 9,999 hours, but it wasn't played for 9,999 hours, because the user himself tweeted that he let the game run to trigger blood moons, so anyone can achieve this same feat if they left their systems on all night while they slept, because 8 or 9 hours a night would add up fast.
Too bad it's still on a home console, not a handheld. According to Wikiepdia, the authoritative source, Switch Lite is a home console without television output, so no playing it on the go.
See? Switch Lite truly is a home console, because it's not a handheld, because Virtual Boy wasn't a handheld. This device is for a home console, not a handheld.
Oh my god I'll be sooooo happy when Nintendo finally makes the 3DS's successor, because all these home console games on Switch/Switch Lite (also a home console according to Wikipedia, meaning Switch Lite is just a home console that doesn't connect to a television), and all these mobile games are just annoying me! I want to play my games on the go, not on a home console, on a handheld, and I'll be sooooo glad when the 3DS's successor finally gets released in a year or two.
Good god, I knew the Wii U was underpowered, but the Switch makes Wii U graphics look like absolute horse sh**!! Good thing they are porting over these failed Wii U games, they need to be made better than they were originally!!!
It doesn't. It competes with the PS4 and the XBox One since it's in the same generation as them according to Wikipedia, the source for all the internet. Since it's not in the PS5 generation, it doesn't compete with PS5, it's still in the PS4 generation. This is going to be one hell of a long generation, going from 2012 to probably 2028 or later!
Who cares? According to Wikipedia (the confirmed source for everything), Switch Lite is a home console without television output ability, meaning it's still a home console. I'm going to sleep. Wake me when there's a new handheld that comes out from Nintendo, will you?
Nintendo Life, Nintendo Life, Nintendo Life, you continue screwing up, you're listing the thriving 3DS in with the failure Wii U. Clearly with one lasting 9 years the other lasting 9 months, they wouldn't put both together. This is just the Wii U aren't able to, not the 3DS who continues to sell like hotcakes, remember? Remember, it has no successor as Switch Lite is NOT the successor (proven by Wikipedia), so only the Wii U has no more offerings, not the 3DS. SMH...
I just can't get over how Japan is no longer a handheld centered country anymore! I mean since Switch is only a home console that replaced the failed Wii U (a home console as well), not a handheld since it's not replacing 3DS, it means a home console is dominating Japan since the Famicom!
Needs to show it to Nintendo so their next handheld can play it! Clearly Switch Lite isn't the 3DS's successor, because Wikipedia says Switch Lite is a home console that doesn't output to a television- weird, but if they say it, then it must be true, Switch Lite is a home console without the ability to play on a television...
Nintendo: Our 3DS sales are dropping! Clearly, it's not because people are replacing it with the new Switch, it's because of piracy! We MUST change the firmware so our games can no longer be pirated, that'll increase sales of the 3DS!!
You guys need to really watch your edit, you put the 3DS when instead you meant just Wii U. The 3DS is still flying off shelves, and has no successor, remember?
Can you believe it? A HOME CONSOLE now dominates Japan!! Remember when handhelds used to be the top selling systems? Well, since Switch is a home console, not a handheld, it means home consoles are once again dominating the charts for the first time since the Famicom, before the release of Game Boy!! Never in my 51 years did I ever think a home console would be dominating a handheld loving country, but it seems Switch being a home console is doing just that! I wonder what the 3DS's successor is going to do to beat the home console Switch. Hmmm. Clearly Switch is a home console, because it's only replacing Wii U which was a home console, while 3DS a handheld, isn't, so that means there's going to be some handheld to replace it, and it's not Switch Lite, because according to Wikipedia, that's just a home console that doesn't output to a television- that sounds weird, but that is what they call it.
ALL RIGHT! This proves the 3DS is still getting games, because it says right there it's coming to the West, and... Wait, SWITCH? But Switch is just a home console, I want the handheld version of it!! Give me the 3DS version already!! Come on, the 3DS is the handheld, while Switch is the home console!! That's what it says on Wikipedia, so that means that's how it is.
I'll just be happy when Pokemon moves back to 3DS. Fine and all it went to home consoles (clearly this is just a home console as Wii U was never a handheld, and it only replaces Wii U: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Switch ), but I like playing Pokemon on a handheld. Guess I'll have to keep waiting.....
Yeah, I'll skip it since I can't play a handheld game on a handheld (even Wikipedia says Switch is NOT the 3DS's successor, only Wii U's, meaning it's clearly a home console like Wii U and not a handheld like 3DS). I mean when Nintendo makes the 3DS's successor, hopefully they'll port this game to it so I can play an original handheld game on a handheld!
Good god, her parents are billionaires!! How can I tell? She owned a Wii U, something only like 100,000 other people in the world can say! It's not like Wii U sold 10 or 15 million systems, nope, it was only on the market for 4 1/2 months, not 4 1/2 years, because it failed, meaning not even 1 million systems were sold to the world.
This was originally planned for Wii U! WOW! Just like Mario Odyssey if this was planned for 2016, then it was a Wii U game ported over to Switch since Switch only replaces the failed Wii U which didn't even sell 1 million systems worldwide before it was discontinued just 4 months after release! It is a bit odd though given this game was originally a handheld game, not sure why it's only on a home console, and not the handheld, the 3DS. Hmmm...
They HAD to put it on Switch, because only like 100,000 Wii U's were ever sold, so the game bombed in sales. If Wii U had sold like 10 or 15 million systems, that's a different story, but it didn't, so now all Wii U games have to be ported to Switch if they want to make any money on them.
And none of these games will ever be on Switch, because they're handheld. I can't wait until Nintendo releases the 4DS, because clearly Switch Lite isn't the DS/3DS replacement, because it's only a home system that came out simply to replace the failed Wii U, meaning Switch Lite is just a home console that can't connect to a television- strange as that sounds, a home console you can't play on a television? Huh.
People need to stop complaining. Look, Switch only came out to replace the horribly failed Wii U. If people had bought 10's of millions of Wii U's then you wouldn't have Switch right now, and this online service, you'd have Virtual Console with hundreds of different games from past systems. Blame yourselves, because you didn't buy Wii U, so Nintendo killed it after just a few months on the market, and quickly replaced it with Switch.

Re: Zelda: Link's Awakening Pre-Orders Updated With Extra Freebies On Nintendo UK Store
Re: Feature: Super Nintendo Games We’d Like To See On Nintendo Switch Online
" With the SNES Classic Mini, the Virtual Console on Wii, Wii U and New Nintendo 3DS,..." what is this "Wii U" thing you speak of?
Re: Random: Teen Uses 3DS, Wii U And A Fridge To Tweet After Parent Confiscates Her Phone
Re: Turns Out Eiji Aonuma Teased Zelda: Link's Awakening Switch Remake Back In 2016
This was originally planned for Wii U! Hmmm...
Re: DuckTales: Remastered Is Leaving The Wii U eShop On 9th August
At least Microsoft and Sony will still have it available. Wait a minute...
Re: Review: Ittle Dew - A Colourful And Funny Little Zelda-Like
They HAD to put it on Switch, because only like 100,000 Wii U's were ever sold, so the game bombed in sales. If Wii U had sold like 10 or 15 million systems, that's a different story, but it didn't, so now all Wii U games have to be ported to Switch if they want to make any money on them.
Re: Feature: Best Nintendo DS Games
And none of these games will ever be on Switch, because they're handheld. I can't wait until Nintendo releases the 4DS, because clearly Switch Lite isn't the DS/3DS replacement, because it's only a home system that came out simply to replace the failed Wii U, meaning Switch Lite is just a home console that can't connect to a television- strange as that sounds, a home console you can't play on a television? Huh.
Re: Two More NES Games Join The Nintendo Switch Online Service In August
People need to stop complaining. Look, Switch only came out to replace the horribly failed Wii U. If people had bought 10's of millions of Wii U's then you wouldn't have Switch right now, and this online service, you'd have Virtual Console with hundreds of different games from past systems. Blame yourselves, because you didn't buy Wii U, so Nintendo killed it after just a few months on the market, and quickly replaced it with Switch.
