I'll stick with "MyMemory" branded ones on the MyMemory UK site. The 512GB card I bought has been £63.99 for ages and has lifetime warranty and performs better than my 400GB Sandisk card. Really wish other companies would release 1TB cards . . .The price usually plummets when theres more competition.
@jsty3105 Na .. its fine ... I'll still ask NINTENDO why their FIRST PARTY games arent as cheap as SONY FIRST PARTY GAMES that are a) NEWER and b) BETTER. Thanks for your concern though. Ur unenlightened contribution has made a real difference.
Better than usual from Nintendo but wish they would try to at least match PS4 Store discounts. When the likes of God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted 4 are permanently down to £14.99 now (and even lower in sales), eShop still seems out of touch with the competition.
Not a roguelike fan at all. Only one ive ever persevered with is The Persistence on PSVR (oh and the Niflheim area of God of War which I loved .. which this game kinda reminds me of). Really enjoying this though. Wont change my opinion on the previous rogue likes I loathed before but this is certainly worth trying if your not usually a fan of the genre.
@HollowNight I guess I stand corrected. I was actually giving the older "fans" (you know, the "20 year supporters") the benefit of the doubt. If you grew up with Pokemon and your bout 30-40 years old now... and review bombing a game based on kids japanese cartoon. . . youve got um ... issues.
Millennial gamers sure are a toxic, joyless bunch. Had never played Pokemon until I played Lets Go Eevee and Pikachu with my 9 year old. Not really my cuppa but any sweet/innocent game your son invests in and lets you tag along is a winner if your a parent. Watched him play few hrs of Sword and Shield and it really is great fun. (He even insisted I choose his "starter" . (Yup, im down!)). . . Couldnt see past Sobble's adorable lil face. "Review bombing" ... pointless waste of time. Go play something u like and cut the negativity out... it gets tiresome.
Never played this until the 1.03 patch came out today. ONE thing really bugs me and ive done it 3 times in the first 20 mins. Lots of times when the + prompt (for compendium/demon info) pops up on the bottom right corner of the screen during gameplay, I tend to instinctively push + to read it straight away ... the + prompt also pops up just before or during cutscenes ... meaning when I instinctively push it, it actually skips the cutscenes. Having the same button for skipping scenes/readin stuff is just stupid!!
Pretty pricey package for couple of 16 bit games. I expected Wonderboy 3 style HD visual options when this was announced .... but ... other than the usual crappy filters .... nothin!!
Auto boost, auto accel ... auto everything ... Not my cuppa. I used the drift controls which are appalling. You cant turn ... just drift.... want to correct your direction slightly? tough .... you drift? Ive came 1st every race ive tried and I doubt i'll go back to it. Theres something a bit cynical and desperate about watering down a beloved franchise and tossing it out for the masses with sneaky in game purchases. Never payed any micro transaction and never will.
Loved Other M. So did many others. Think Edge and Gamestm both gave it a 9 if memory serves. I didnt mind the narrative at all and found the gameplay to be great. Just wish it was nunchuk compatible. . . then it would be possible to move and go into 1st person mode at same time, although that might make it too easy.
... my lite has SAME issues ALL 6 of my joy cons have!! What is it with them!!!?? How hard is it to get a frickin "joystick" right. Thousands of complaints ... "I know ... we'll stick to our guns" ...... amateur hour ... AGAIN!!
Deal I plumped for was 512GB (MyMemory's own make) from MyMemory.co.uk ... only £62.99 with LIFETIME guarantee. Very good quality and MUCH better value than the BIGGER brands.
Still find it incredible we used to pay £30-£40 for 700kb games that last half an hour. I paid £40 in 1989 for Wonderboy in Monsterland for SMS ... takes 40 minutes to complete. Even more incredible is that prices for standard editions of modern games are roughly the same price as they were 30 years ago.
Really enjoying this. The music and way the music is triggered reminds me of The Snowman. PS .... Anyone know how to get the gardener to wear his sunhat?
Just finished the 3rd (slime) dungeon in this. Its amazing but I wish I hadn't revisited the DX version so recently. Played it at beginning of the year. The Switch version is almost identical (so far) to the original and it seems a tad stale knowing everything that happens.
The ability to reassign more buttons would also have helped. L and ZL BOTH do the dash and R and ZR both do the shield. It helps not having to assign Sword, Shield and feather separately like in the GB one but the ability to reassign the 2 (wasted) shoulder buttons would have been better too.
ALSO ... the CRANE "GAME" is SSSOOO INFURIATING. I swear I line it up perfectly but that pesky shell always slips out. The ability to save right before playing the crane game though means you can cheat (without losing rupees) if you don't get anything ...
@Rikimaru
... It doesn't. If my daughter is playing Mario Kart 8 and my son then opens Mario Kart 8 on his Switch... My daughter's is cut off. It only permits u to play it on ONE Switch at a time. PS4 allows u to set up one console as a Primary unit ... And another console can be used also. I leave the Primary account on my son's PS4 and he plays on his profile, and I sign in under my profile on the 2nd console. Means we can both play games online together from one purchase.
@sikthvash ... no, I mean for 2 Switches to be able to play the same game at the same time from one eshop purchase. Both my son and daughter can download Mario Kart 8 (for eg)... they can both play it on there Switches at different times. BUT only one can play it at a time. They've both got the game on each of their switches from one purchase ... doesn't seem like a big deal to allow them to play it together. Ive got all my PSStore games on 2 PS4s (my sons and mine) and we can play everything together simultaneously from the one PSStore purchase.
PLEASE make it part of the family deal to be able to play digital downloads on 2 consoles simultaneously.... a la PS4. Paying full price twice so my son and daughter can play together seems s bit stingy.
Enjoying this but there are some seriously annoying things. When u enter the map screen the only way to exit it is by pressing "B", which also makes you jump automatically when the game restarts !!!???? Seems like such a schoolboy error and crazy to think any dev team would release a game without rectifying this.
I played a Link to the Past couple months ago.... wasn't quite as good as the game I remembered as a 14 years old. There were few instances where hidden key items essential to proceed are not signposted at all and could have someone walking around Hyrule in circles for days if they don't stumble across them. Really enjoyed it although I played Minish Cap again immediately LttP after and actually preferred that to ALttP. Think its time for people to accept Super Metroid is the REAL greatest Snes game EVER. It really is as fresh as the day it was released.
Thank god ... couldn't have lived with myself otherwise!!! My voice actors are required to be above questionable deviances ... or else its just a "no way, man!" .. "No frickin' way!"
Can someone not make a cheap one of these. Surely a small hdmi, upscaling adapter isnt exactly cutting edge technology these days. The premium price really doesnt do the developer any favours.
@Joe-b Never completed it back in the day. Couldnt get through the maze as never found the bell. Doubt I could have beat the dragon even if I got there. Complete it easily now but have to cheat and use rewind button on Retroarch.
WB in Monster Land was my fave Master System game. Still play it every few months. Never played the arcade version of the game. Hope it plays the same.
Not my cuppa. Played Symphony of the Night for first time few weeks ago and, after persevering, ended up really enjoying it. Had Super Castlevania 4 on Snes in the 90s n always thought it was sssooo slow and boring. Played it again last week and it seems even worse than before. Never understood the acclaim it received.
Never touched a Pokemon game until my 9 yr old son dragged me (kicking and screaming) through Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee co-op. Quite enjoyed them. Now I watch this guy unwrapping Pokemon cards on Youtube with my son and we both get REALLY excited (yup, me too ... i know) when the guy unwraps fancy GX cards. Cant wait to take my boy to Detective Pikachu in 4DX (no less) tomoz.
With Wonder Boy 3 remake and Monster Boy both offering incredible Metroidvania experiences, a remake of the original (very basic platformer) seems an underwhelming prospect. Had it on Master System ... was mildly fun but greatly overshadowed by WB in MonsterLand and WB Dragons Trap. Still, reasonable price point AND YOU GET TO GO ON A SKATEBOARD!!!!! .... A SKATEBOARD AH SEZ!!!
Simply awful to the extent where its pointless. I've got pretty decent VR legs and rarely get any sickness. Got Labo VR and played Zelda VR on my PSVR today also. The main problem is that the screen isn't in a locked position. I can't even read the text on the corners of the image as every time I adjust to view it the entire screen moves with me. Only way to play this is if you can lock your head into position and not move an inch. Shame you can't disable the gyro and lock the screen.
The trailer for this really turned me off .... turn based card game.. UUGGHH! Only turn base game ive ever liked was Steamworld Heist. Really loved Quest though and would recommend it to any sitting on the fence. . . its not typically my style of game to be honest and never thought i'd enjoy it at all. Went back to 100% it but still can't find 1 pesky treasure in the Lost Woods style section. If anyone can help it would be most appreciated. My son watched me play it and had a go and really wished there was a 2 (or 3) player co op. Bit of advice... healing potions bought from the merchant are a finite source so try only to use them sparingly. Ive only got two more battles at the colosseum to finish the whole game and have plenty of revive kits left ... BUT .. finding these battles impossible without healing potions. 9/10
Can't be any less reliable than my 4 "PAIRS" of official Joy-Cons. EVERY ONE of my 8 joycons has issues with ZL/ZR not working so cant connect in tabletop mode and the LEDs don't flash on ANY of them either.

Stunning game but it really chugged on PS3. Irrelevant to me but hopefully Switch version will run smoothly like the PS4 version.
