@RailX In my opinion, the DLC missions where some of the best in the entire game. "The Trouble with Clones" is basically a prototype for the super powers in Saints Row 4.
@Magician They just did a physical release of the Vita Version with Limited Run Games so chances are pretty high that they do the same for the Switch Version in 6 month.
@myMaudlinCareer @TechGuy One the one hand I can understand not wanting to give money to hostile people. On the other hand you are punishing the whole team for something a few of them (or most likely just one person) said/did.
I personally mostly ignore stuff like that. If I stopped buying stuff from companies that employ bad people I probably couldn't buy anything anymore.
@jerichofr Sorry to be blunt but that's silly. Metroid Prime isn't my favorite game in the series but it isn't even close to a traditional FPS. I would argue that you do more exploring an less shooting in Prime than you do in Super Metroid.
The power of the dedicated screenshot button on the switch I guess. Most people on the Wii U who found this probably didn't care enough about Miiverese do take a screenshot and post it.
On the Switch it is a lot easier and Twitter integration means a lot more people will actually see you "achievement".
@justin233 Ken Watanabe might not be a recognisable name to you but if you have ever seen a Hollywood movie with an important Japanese side character (like a businessman or Samurai) it was probably him 😀
Tokyo (or Japan in general?) is just crazy with it's advertising. My recent trip to Tokyo started with a Star Wars branded ANA flight (the plane was painted in a BB-8 colour scheme and everything from napkins and seat covers to the greeting of the passengers was Star Wars themed).
The Skytree is one big advertisement for The Avengers. The Tokyo Tower has a seperate area that is modeled after One Piece. Even the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) had Detective Conan experience. Most stores, especially in Akihabara, are a confusing labyrinth of giant posters and screens playing trailers for anime or games on full volume.
@MH4 Pearl missed the point of the splatfest and thought it was simply about which animal you like better and she seems to be oblivious about Marina beeing an octoling.
I remember Marina being cheeky about it and saying something like "Octopuses can camouflage. You could be standing in front of an octopus right now without even noticing".
@WaveBoy Even better: They should just sell the empty cases for 5€. That way you can have an extensive collection without even paying for the games! Most collectors wouldn't notice anyway because they never open their games. They loose value if you remove the shrink wrap after all!!
@rushiosan No, they said it was pointless even if you can read Japanese, because most of the games are terrible.
In addition it is interesting to know that most games are text heavy RPGs. If most of the games were fighting games or side scrollers it wouldn't really matter if you could read the text.
@twztid13 Splatoon 2 has a Singleplayer campaign. It takes about 5 hours to complete the first run. After that you can replay all the levels with different weapons. If you don't like PvP there is also a PvE mode that is pretty good (but only available at specific times for somw reason).
Right now the digital version is on sale so you get Splatoon 2 + Octo expansion for the same price you would normally pay for the main game alone.
@BionicDodo @MrMac Widescreen support and "fixing the camera" would mean that they would have to redo the prerendered backgrounds. If they don't have access to the original assets they would have to rebuild the whole game from scratch.
That said, I agree that they could have done more with the remaster. They didn't touch the backgrounds at all. Removing the color banding and cleaning up some artifacts shouldn't be too hard with modern image processing software.
@Taffy Nice try, but it would me more believable if you wrote "Having a MALE Octoling is historically inaccurate". There were no male Octolings in Splatoon 1.
EDIT: In the actual game I mean. I think the sunken scrolls had pictures of male Octolings.
It has 100 levels and you can play user created levels as well. Gameplay seems to be exactly the same. The biggest difference to N++ is that there is no music.
In what way are the Joy Con "not quite as sophisticated as the Wii Remote Plus"? Wii Motion Plus just added a gyroscope which a Joy Con also has. The only thing missing is the IR camera. But in Skyward Sword they didn't use it. The pointer for shooting arrows etc worked the exact same way as in World of Goo for Switch.
In docked mode the motion controls will work perfectly fine. I just hope they can come up with a clever way to use traditional controls for the people that hated motion controls and for handheld mode.
@thesilverbrick I just wanted to write the same thing regarding Metroid. But I have to agree with @Paraka that it's crazy that anyone could be angry if Retro was working on the next Donkey Kong Country.
@MadCow74 on one hand I can totally understand that someone wants cloud saves or save backups and it is standard on all other plattforms On the other hand, how could we ever play a big RPG on an NES or SNES. The battery in the module could die at any moment!!!
@shaneoh I don't care how many achievements I have in a game in general. But I have played a few games were they were either put there as a joke (e.g. some achievements in Portal 2) or were they were like mini puzzles you had to solve, which was quite fun.
I get it simply because the German version is censored and the PC version has as stupid geolock even though it is perfectly legal to buy the game abroad and import it yourself.
As the Switch is the only current console that I own, this is the only legal option to play the game uncensored.
@thesilverbrick "biodegrade" is just [removed]. I have 30 years old books and packaging cartons that look like new. On the other hand I had a camping chair that I used once and then stored in a dark and dry place, but after five years all the plastic parts just crumbled away.
Getting the Labo stuff wet will destroy it pretty quickly but the Switch doesn't like water all that much either.
To all the people who say this would be too early: We don't know how long the game has been in development. They can work on more than one game at once. Plus Sun/Moon used the same engine as X/Y so the engine programmers could have started working on a new engine years ago.
Plus you all sound like the people that said "Revealing a new console in fall and releasing it in spring is not enough time to build hype" and "If they skip the holiday season and release in March, it will never sell". We all know how that turned out
@Arcade_Tokyo How do you pay for the games in a Japanese arcade? Unfortunately, arcades were never popular here, not even in the 80s and 90s so my experience is limited to Italian arcades in the late 90s where you had to buy special tokens. My only visit to a modern arcade was Dave and Busters in New York City. There you have to buy a card that you load up with money.
I'm still hoping that they announce some new OS features at E3. But knowing Nintendo they will probably announce nothing and than release a Direct one week later
@Shard1 Just look on the back of the charger. If it says "Input: 100-240 V" it should work almost everywhere without a problem. My European Switch charger does say that. You just might need an adapter so that it fits into the wall socket.
I still don't get Japan when it comes to sex/nudity. On one hand they have no problem sexualising teenagers in media including stuff that is also AIMED AT teenagers. Plus nudity seems to be used for comedic effect a lot even in mainstream media.
On the other hand they still censor all their porn.
@MegaMari0
"So part of the pitch process for new developers or new publishers who come on board with Switch is to not just pitch us a brand new game or a brand new concept, but to use that opportunity to prove their background, their aptitude as a developer and whether they’re going to be able to navigate through what can be a complicated process of going through the development cycle, and certification, and all of that. So that’s part of our evaluation."
This fits the developer of Vroom in the night sky perfectly because they have been around since Wiiware and have released several games on the 3DS and WiiU eShop.
I know nothing about the quality of their other games but going by quantity alone they had a good relationship with Nintendo for years.
@BionicDodo I'm quite happy that they sacrificed the 3D and instead went for nicer graphics. It is probably the best looking 3DS game I have ever played.
A store near my workplace put up the game too early, so I have already finished the first chapter. So far it is way too easy and I think I can already guess what the big plot twist will be at the end of the story but I'm really liking the characters, especially Pikachu.
Really great game! I beat it on PC without killing anyone (aside from the mandatory mission targets of course). I love games that allow you to do that.
Why do you all want old games coming to the Switch? How about some new stuff I haven't already played?
I'm hoping for some release dates on games from the last showcase (I'm especially looking forward to Flipping Death. I was interested from the start, but after playing Stick it to the Man recently I'm even more excited).
What I find weird is that Nintendo of Europe doesn't advertise this Nindies Showcase at all. I hope we don't see just a bunch of US exclusives.
@rdrunner1178 There are loads of SNES Classic Mini available on amazon.com and several different European Amazon sites. Most sellers have fulfillment by Amazon and the prices are all around 100$ which is the RRP.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Cloud Services Explained By Diablo III Associate Producer
@Nincompoop I think it was said (or at least rumoured) that games must explicitly support cloud saves for it to work.
2K probably just won't implement it. I'm sure Nintendo will have some kind of size restrictions for cloud saves.

Re: Saucy Brawler Skullgirls 2nd Encore Is Coming To Nintendo Switch
Thanks for announcing this a few days after I bought the PC version, because I couldn't find any info an a Switch release 😩
At least it was on sale (7,50€ for the game including the 2nd Encore DLC) so I might buy it again on Switch.
I really like the art stile. Most 2D fighting games seem to stick to late 90s arcade pixel graphics but Skullgirls has very hi res sprites.
