Judging by the record sales in both the U.S. and Europe as a whole a lot more people agree with me than you. I bet you wouldn't say that if Sony ends up acting on the patent they filed the other week that looks very similar to the Switch. Also you do know that there are other gaming fansites out there that would suit your gaming preferences a lot better, right?

Yes South American countries do get the shaft from time to time but I was trying to point out to him that NOA handles both continents and both continents are bunched into one region called America which clearly you understand.

You do know what a region is right? Nintendo of Europe is in Germany and NOA is in the U.S. There's no Nintendo of Mexico or a Nintendo of Brazil, even though they're in America..

Agree. Everybody seems to forget that it's a home console/handheld hybrid that can be taken anywhere on the go. Can the PS4 and Xbox one do that? No they cannot.

Uhm actually it does just like how the United States is the bread and butter for NOA and hence that's why it's headquarters is in the USA. Sales, brand interest and awareness, and geographical location ALL get considered when choosing where a headquarters is going to be.

I think you might be the ignorant one buddy since Nintendo of Europe is headquartered in Germany for a reason. Just like Nintendo of America is headquartered in the United States for a reason. And no I couldn't find anything for individual numbers for Germany vs. GB for hardware sales. The only reliable stats I could find were for Europe as a whole. So if you have this data like I said before please post it. And yes population numbers matter especially when the country with more people is also historically a lot more receptive to Nintendo. We found out France's numbers today and they're breaking records there, and NOE announced Switch is breaking records in Europe as a whole too. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that with the UK shifting 80,000 units the brunt of those hardware sales came from elsewhere. We'll see who the ignorant one is here in a day or two when Germany's numbers get released. My point Mr. Wise One is that Britain has been seen as less of a Nintendo stronghold than France and Germany.

It's widely known that Brits aren't as enthusiastic about Nintendo as much as France and Germany and I would like proof that the Brits buy more Nintendo products than the Germans because there's more people living in Germany than Great Britain.

Even Brits on this site have admitted that GB is not a Nintendo stronghold, whereas in Germany they love Nintendo.

Edit: Also Nintendo of Europe is headquartered in Germany for a reason.

The Switch version looks like the PS4 version to me and even has some better textures and lighting. That's what 90% of the the people who buy this game will care about, not the frame rate.

Not surprised that Digital Foundry did a video like this though because they're Brits and big Sony fanboys just like Eurogamer, their parent company.

Spawn Wave already opened up the Switch and said the Tegra inside looks bigger than the original X1 so I honestly can't wait until Digital Foundry has to eat even more crow.

What we need to take away from this comparison is that Switch can handle PS4 ports and it can achieve parity which means with good sales the games will come.

Yep all the naysayers who keep bringing up continued momentum forget about Mario Kart, Arms, Sonic Mania, and Splatoon all releasing in the next couple of months. Nintendo needs to keep hitting it hard with marketing and they're golden.

I don't know if you know this but Ireland is not all of Europe 😉 Anyways, it's been reported today that Switch has broken records in France and I would wager that it's broken records in Germany as well.

That's cool you can find a Switch in Ireland, but Ireland has like 500 people, so it's a bit silly to act like it represents Europe as a whole, especially outside of GB.

There were about 50 people at my GameStop for the midnight launch and the atmosphere was hype central. Never seen anything like it for a Nintendo console launch and I've been around awhile. Since launch EVERYWHERE in my city has been sold out including the big supermarkets and places like Toys R Us and Best Buy.

Not surprised that there's still units available in the UK because as you can see from this website there are a lot of Sony fanboys who have complexes about what systems they're supposed to buy. Germany has always been a big supporter of Nintendo though so I want to see the numbers from there.

All in all though I believe Switch is off to a fantastic start in North America and Japan and I'm getting the feeling Nintendo has hit gold again with the Switch.

Oh here we go of course Nintendo Life has to write in their article 20 times how dire of a situation Nintendo is in and how this is their last chance at hardware. Give me a break. Nintendo will never give up hardware. Ever. It's like you Brits need to have Mario on your PS4 so you'll feel better about yourselves. Repeat these words: Not gonna happen.

Anyways this is the most hyped I've been for a Nintendo console since the 64 and I'll bet money that the Switch will come close to matching Wii U's lifetime sales in the first year. Nintendo may have got their lightening in a bottle again.

So glad I'm getting one of these bad boys at launch and I'm stoked about the native PC support. Since it's a Bluetooth connection it'll probably connect to both my PC and Shield TV.

Exactly. The game will have the HD mode, 16 bit mode, first person mode, two new characters, online lobbies and a spectator drop in mode and we still have people whining. I know I'll be all over this game and that box art is dope. To each their own.

Got my neon Switch, Zelda, Bomberman, a pro controller and the official case all paid off. Getting 1-2 Switch and Fast RMX in a couple of weeks and Sonic Mania and Puyo Puyo Tetris when they come out in April. Arms will be my May game and Splatoon 2 will probably be out shortly after. So pumped for Thursday night!

Looks like Eurogamer is trying to protect its credibility and pride because none of this is 100% confirmed yet, especially for retail units. They want to crap on the Foxconn leak because it goes against what they said and they want to cover their butts so everybody doesn't label them as the Sony hacks that they are. We shall find out the truth here real soon. Also I find it funny that they're basing a lot of their assumptions on the leaked photos of the insides because those photos have been used to debunk their own theories/leaks.

That's exactly what I was thinking and that would be so awesome. I also want to be able to add photos from social media or an SD card and use them as my background and screen saver/lockscreen. Being able to make the font different would be cool too.

For anybody that didn't notice it's actually Unreal Engine 4.15 which is the newest version. This should bode well for third party support on the system.

If it has all the modes and online features that the other versions have(having to pay for online makes this more of a reality now) then this is a day one buy for me. Wait until we get closer to release with direct feed footage before you judge the game on its visuals. With Switch supporting Unreal Engine 4.15 I wouldn't underestimate what kind of visuals it can put out even if it isn't going to look exactly like the PS4 version. Can't wait to play as my favorite team Bayern Munchen and being able to play on the go is a big selling point for me, especially with a game like Fifa.

Happy to pay $50 for this because I'm old enough to know that Bomberman is crazy fun. The fact that Nintendo, Hudson Soft, and Konami came together to make this game justifies the price IMO.

Awesome news. I remember the first global test fire and it was a blast and the fact the new one is coming out in the launch month for Switch makes it even better. Also I find it hilarious that grown men are whining about a 11:00pm test fire on a Saturday night like it's 3:00am or something. Also 11:00pm isn't too late for my 10 year old or my three year old either. Both are night owls and on the weekends I could care less if they stay up a little later, especially for something like this.

Yeah I wasn't impressed with the first trailer but this has grown on me. I felt the same exact same way about Splatoon when it was initially shown and that turned out great so I have high hopes for this now.

Good point but they could do a portable "focused" version where it doesn't come with a dock, grip, and has non detachable joy-cons. It could still connect to a friend's dock or separately purchased one but it would have a lower price point and cater to the dedicated handheld market i.e. kids and budget buyers. I could definitely see them doing this when/if they launch the supplemental computing device for the original Switch.

Also a hybrid console like the Switch is what Nintendo fans have been dreaming of for a long time. I can see them doing a portable focused version of the Switch though especially when they decide to show/launch the supplemental computing device which will be Switch 1.5.

I would advise all Nintendo fans to ignore any Kickstarter campaigns that aren't Switch exclusive. Nintendo fans have gotten the shaft too many times and we shouldn't be spending our hard earned cash on empty promises and pipe dreams.

With that said I'll download the game when it comes to Switch, but only if it's released within a month of the other versions.

Even though the keychains are very tempting this kind of game is better suited for a digital purchase. I want this bad boy available anytime I want to play it on the go.

I never thought SoS had a feminine style. It's basically the same as the earlier HM games that came out on 3DS, but once again to each their own. I will say though if they brought back the Magical Melody style in HD i would freak out with joy. I'm definitely with you on that.

I have the original SoS on 3DS and I liked the character designs in that. I also liked the character designs in Tree of Tranquility and Magical Melody, but honestly I wouldn't mind if they kept the same style from the last SoS game, just with better textures and graphics for the Switch version. And a Harvest Moon with photo realistic graphics would look weird to me, especially since I've been with the franchise since 64. I actually like the anime/cutesy graphics. If you want realism, Farming Simulator is also coming out for the Switch.

And yeah, Story of Seasons on Switch sounds awesome to me since I can play Harvest Moon on the TV again and in full HD. To each their own I guess.
