Re: Reaction: Nintendo Surprises Us All With the 2DS and Wii U Price Cut

capitalism

@Dazza

I disagree with you, it's already been proven that Wii U is next gen caliber and the new engines that are coming to the system prove that.

COD: GHOSTS WII U - Uses the new next gen engine
New CryEngine — Coming to Wii U
Watch Dogs Wii U — Using the new next gen engine
Assassins Creed 4 Wii U — using the new next gen engine

What was that about Wii U having last gen tech again??
Watch the insults please, your points stand just fine without that initial jab — TBD

Re: Pure Chess Developer: Wii U Is "Quite A Beast Of A Machine"

capitalism

@MrWalkieTalkie

Yep you're missing the fact that PS4 and Xbox people love to come to Nintendo sites when they see an article saying that the "Wii U is a beast of a machine" and proclaim that's not the case because their machines are soooo much better. It's also multi-console owners that love to justify spending thousands of dollars on multiple systems because they believe owning a Nintendo console alone is not hardcore enough.

@element187

Damn right, couldn't have said it better myself. And I love it when someone proves that the Wii U is indeed a next gen machine that has some power behind it when people try to use the same little line "OMG Wii U is so underpowered and barely matches up to 360/ps3" bullpoopiedoodoodingdongdoodiepoops that we have to hear all the time when those claims have no evidence to back them up.

Re: Nintendo Finally Confirms Call of Duty: Ghosts Is Coming To Wii U

capitalism

Good to see Nintendo themselves finally confirmed it. Activision also put out a press release today mentioning the Wii U version so at least they're acknowledging it a lot sooner than in the past. I know I'll be getting it, I've been with the series since WAW on Wii and I want to see how the new engine looks and plays. It'll be interesting to see how the Wii U version compares to the PS4 and One version. This will be the first multi plat next gen game we can compare so like I said it'll be interesting. Anyways as far as DLC is concerned its as simple as this: Buy the game and the DLC will come.

Re: EA: Frostbite 3 On Wii U "Not Impossible"

capitalism

@MrGawain

This my friend is the real reason EA is back pedaling. You nailed it on the head.

@element187

You my friend have the specs mostly right, but you saying that Wii U is comparable to the 360 right afterwards kind of discredits your post. With the specs you gave the Wii U is roughly 2X the power of the 360. Mind you this doesn't count the unknowns that are still out there about the system. What that means is that Wii U is in the middle in terms of the power gap between current and next gen consoles. Yes it shares some similarities with the 360, but when those similarities are compared the Wii U outperforms the 360 almost every time.

Anyways, I want to have faith in EA again because I'm really enjoying Need for Speed U and would love to see the sports games return. Bring over the games and all will be forgiven, at least in my eyes.

Re: 3DS Tops NPD Hardware Sales for May

capitalism

@peach64

That data is January through May, you forgot to include November and December when Wii U was matching Wii's launch numbers. It's always good to list all the facts when making an argument.

Anyways, I thought Pachter and all these other so called professionals said the 3ds was doomed and mobile was taking over? You know the same people who are predicting Wii U's doom now. Lol its always fun to see Nintendo prove these idiots wrong.

Re: Retro Chose Donkey Kong Over Metroid as Its First Wii U Title

capitalism

For everybody bringing up that you wanted a new IP, X and Wonderful 101 say hello. I know it's not a new IP but it's only the second game in the series so Bayonetta 2 says hello as well. I would of liked to see Starfox today too, but DK was a nice surprise and we all know it's going to be one of the best 2D platformers on ANY system this year. It looks beautiful, has a lot of cool features and represents the DK franchise perfectly. I know I'll be there day one.

Re: Nintendo Reveal Why Its 3D Mario Title Isn't Super Mario Galaxy 3

capitalism

I love it, it had to grow on me a little but now that I've really checked it out I'm really in love with the game. Four player multiplayer in a 3D Mario game??!!!!!!!!!!!! It looks like a mix of Galaxy, 64, and 3D land which is a great thing and watching the video's in HD sold me on the graphics. CANT WAIT TO PLAY IT TOMORROW!!!

Re: Consumers Go Crazy For Wii U Following Xbox One Reveal

capitalism

@GamerJunkie

Once again, the article doesn't say currently(meaning today), it says directly after the conference. Also an 800% sales spike is not from a temporary price cut alone, once again if you think that then I believe you are wrong. Also Microsofts stock price dropped after the conference while Nintendo and Sony's went up. Do you need any more evidence that Nintendo and Sony benefited from this and that Microsoft botched their conference?

Re: Consumers Go Crazy For Wii U Following Xbox One Reveal

capitalism

@GamerJunkie

It's called the article clearly states that is was from Amazon UK, not the NA Amazon site. Also, One might be the most wished for, but with a 800% sales spike for Wii U, it's pretty foolish to think that MS' conference had no influence on that. Now why are you on a Nintendo site again?

Anyways, it seems like gamers have made up their minds since all three companies have shown off their next gen cards. People don't want overpriced TV tuners with a camera, they want a bad ass gaming console. A gaming console that lets you play used games without an extra fee and is backwards compatible.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's Next-Gen Challenge Starts to Take Shape

capitalism

I think the author was a little charitable to MS and Sony, especially MS. He must own a 360 lol. After MS' conference yesterday, I believe the Wii U is fine. If you want a toy for your entertainment center get a One, if you want to play some baddonkey , innovative video games that aren't all generic FPS', buy a Wii U

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Mixed Week With Wii U Third-Party Support

capitalism

In terms of third party support Nintendo's proving that they're more concerned with Indie devs than bigger third party publishers and I believe that can be the "thing" that sets Wii U apart from the rest. The e-shop already has some really good content and the way the big N has been trying to court indie and mobile devs with the web framework will make it even better. Just look at Festival of Magic and you can tell the e-shop has some really good content coming. Think about it, EA and other big publishers are choosing to neglect Nintendo and I think Nintendo realizes that, so they're looking to create business relationships with the start ups and the future of the industry which I think could be very lucrative and a good business decision for them. They have always been known as the innovator and disruptor in the industry and I think working with indie devs who have that same mindset will lead to great things. With that said, Ubisoft, Sega, and Activision are still on board and us Nintendo fans are eternally grateful for them sticking it out, not listening to the mob, seeing the systems potential, and realizing that it will hit it's stride THIS upcoming holiday season. Just look at the big third party games already confirmed

-Splinter Cell Blacklist
-Assassins Creed IV Black Flag
-Watch Dogs
-Sonic
-Call of Duty: Ghosts (its coming, we've already seen the box art and there's the response from the Activision rep)
-Rayman Legends

And everything that's going to be revealed at E3

And that's not including first party cannon which is a new 3D mario, Zelda Windwaker HD, Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, and maybe Mario Kart and that X game we were shown. Nintendo is far from doomed.

Re: Talking Point: Are Wii U Games Going To Be Too Expensive?

capitalism

Well since the wii u has double the power of the 360/ps3 and the games are still being priced the same I would say that's a great value for my money. Let's use our logic here people. This article only feeds into the misinformed or anti nintendo sites that have been reporting that the wii u is only on par performance wise with current gen consoles.

Re: Nintendo Unveils TVii Service for North America

capitalism

This really impressed me today. I never thought Nintendo would go all out on a service like this. It's innovative and it looks like something that I would use all the time. The sports section is perfect and I love the whole sharable and interactive nature to it. Being able to post polls about content is awesome and I see it as the spiritual successor to the Everybody Votes Channel on the Wii. Good job Nintendo.

Re: Wii U Power Lacks a 'Generational Leap'

capitalism

This article is opinion and not fact so the title should reflect that. Anyone who has seen Zombie U or Assassins Creed 3 running on Wii U knows that it's a more powerful and graphically capable console than whats available right now. Is it 5X more powerful no, but I DO believe it's about 2X as powerful which is fine by me. And I find it funny how they think that this is all the Wii U can push when the system isn't even out yet and we all know it takes a couple a years for developers to utilize the systems full potential. Give me a break.
