Re: Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns Secures North American Release Date

capitalism

The Japanese Nintendo website has confirmed Story of Seasons is coming to Switch so I'm pumped I'll be able to play Harvest Moon on the TV again. Hopefully it's a brand new entry that takes advantage of Switch's hardware. Could you imagine HD Rumble with tilling the land, brushing animals, and yes cow milking??!!! Tree of Tranquility on Wii was such an awesome game so hopefully it's a sequel to that.

Re: Guide: The Best Nintendo Switch Micro SD Cards

capitalism

Got a SanDisk 128gb Extreme microsdxc card for 56.99 on Walmart dot com and that'll hold me over for a long time. I'll be buying mostly retail for the big games so I won't need to worry until a year or two in which prices will be even lower.

As I explained in the other storage article just remember to pay attention to the WRITE speeds on micro SD cards and your internet connection speed. Most of the cheapies only have a 20mb write speed and if you're like me who has a 30mb internet connection your download speeds would be held back by the card. If you have a fast internet connection look for the cards that support 4K that have 60 - 90mb write speeds that make them a little more future proof. I learned this from Spawn Wave who had a whole video on the subject.

Re: Talking Point: Let's Explore What Could Be Done with HD Rumble on the Nintendo Switch

capitalism

If it has a counter force feature then I definitely want that included in racing games. Imagine feeling like you're really making a hard turn as the controller's pull the opposite way.

Or how about in a game like steep you can feel the air going through your squirrel suit or the powdered snow hitting your hands when you snowboard.

Or in wave race being able to feel water splash when landing a jump.

Or in a shooter actually feeling the different kicks of multiple guns. Hard kicks for snipers and tiny yet fast kicks for machine guns.

Those are my wishes for HD Rumble.

Re: Nintendo Switch Won't Have Video Streaming Services At Launch, But They're Being Considered

capitalism

For streaming services, I could care less as I have a 4K Smart TV that I've been using for Netflix, Amazon Video etc. as it's a lot easier to access then turning on a video game console to do so. It also has access to 4K content which I doubt Nintendo will make a priority.

On the storage front I just bought a 128gb SanDisk Extreme microsdxc for $56.99 on Walmart's website for my launch day Switch. Even though I'm mostly going to be gaming at home on the big screen I wouldn't want to have a hard drive that I could only access from the dock. When I game in bed or off the TV on the couch then I want easy access to all my data. 128gb should last me until the next console as I plan on buying mostly retail, but if I do need more space another 128gb should be even cheaper by the time I need it.

Also note: when buying micro SD cards pay attention to the WRITE speed because a lot of the cheaper ones only have 20mb write speeds. This is fine if your internet connection is below 20mb, but if you're like me who has a 30mb internet connection then it can be a problem for download speeds. The micro sd cards that support 4K video have anywhere from 60mb to 90mb write speeds which make them a little bit more future proof, especially in my case. Just wanted to share that little nugget of info with everyone.

Re: Reggie on Wii U Support Going Forward

capitalism

Wii U was a great console with great games in my opinion, but the name sucked and it never caught on commercially. As much as it hurts to say that as a Nintendo fan it's true. Wii U did give me some great gaming moments though so I will always be grateful for that. Zelda will look better on the Switch and I can take it anywhere on the go so I'll be picking it up on Switch. When I finish Paper Mario Color Splash it will be my last game on Wii U and I think it's a very appropriate game to end the system with. It's an underappreciated, unique, hidden gem that sadly a lot of people will never experience.

Re: First Impressions: 1-2-Switch is an Ideal Pack-In Game That's Missing Its Chance

capitalism

The Switch has more advanced tech in it than the Wii did. Different times yes but the Wii was running on old Gamecube architecture. Thats why Wii Sports could be packed in at $250. So if either Arms or 1-2 Switch was packed in we would of been paying $350 and all the haters would be complaining because of that. It was reported today that 1-2 Switch will have over 20 mini games on it so I believe that $1.50 - $2.00 per mini game is a good value proposition(1-2 Switch is $49.99). I think the casual gamer and Nintendo fans alike who are buying a Switch and want to see what the HD Rumble is all about will agree with me.

Re: Nintendo Switch Pre-Order Stock - Tough to Find in the US, Easier in the UK

capitalism

@UK-Nintendo

Exactly, I stated my opinion about how Switch pre order numbers are looking great and multiple people wanted to debate about it. Nothing wrong with a a healthy debate but the only people getting butt hurt about it are Sony bots who "already own a PS4" and are "skeptical". Also, I think somebody's mad the Switch is looking to match or exceed Playstation 4 pre order numbers. And yep Wii U did fall off after 3 months but Wii U didn't have Splatoon 2 and Mario Odyssey releasing on it in the months following release. See you in December when you make your "decision"

Re: Nintendo Switch Pre-Order Stock - Tough to Find in the US, Easier in the UK

capitalism

@Achoo

Amen and I've been getting the same vibe too. Sites like Eurogamer and Digital Foundry(which is a Eurogamer division) seem to have so much disdain for Nintendo. That Phillips guy from Eurogamer was the one who started all that Fifa version BS and supposedly he is a Sony bot. North America, Germany, France and Japan all have big Nintendo followings so I agree with you that Nintendo should be putting most of its resources in those countries.

Re: Nintendo Switch Pre-Order Stock - Tough to Find in the US, Easier in the UK

@UK-Nintendo

Coming from one of the usual negative Nancy's on the website. 😂😂 Go find something else to do with your time bub. Being negative all the time on a fansite for a company that you clearly dislike isn't productive nor does it add to the discussion in any way especially when you do it over and over again. I've been critical of Nintendo for a lot of the things they've done, but that doesn't mean I have to scream from the hill tops on every single post about how horrible they are and how I'm going to hold off on getting the Switch. Give me a break. Go get a PS4 if you're so turned off by the company, then we won't have to deal with people like you around here. Oh wait......

@aaronsullivan

That's fine if both of you want to be critical of Nintendo and want to wait and see if you're going to pick up the system. Doesn't hurt me none. I got mine all reserved. I think my big gripe with people like him/her is IN EVERY SINGLE ARTICLE on Nintendolife we have to hear about how Nintendo is doomed or stupid and then the said person says they're holding off for a year to see if they want the system. It's a little bit excessive. If they think the PS4 is so much better and they're going to spend their money on games for it instead of the Switch then the push square website is a click away at the bottom of the screen. Then they can come back in a year when they make their carefully thought out decision and add to the discussion again. It's hardly necessary that they need to complain and whine in every single article until they make their decision though.

Re: Nintendo Switch Pre-Order Stock - Tough to Find in the US, Easier in the UK

@Hotfusion

Aww, look at you up there on that pedestal you made for yourself. Well you can call it fanboys buying the system all you want, but the fact of the matter is that Switch already has a broader appeal than Wii U and that's showing with the enthusiasm for the console and pre order numbers. Also, Wii U didn't have the best looking Mario ever for its first holiday season along with all the other games coming out around that time. Just imagine if the rumored Pokemon for the Switch gets revealed at E3 for a holiday 2017 release. You can be "cautiously optimistic" all you want which I guess is the buzzword for all the haters around here, but that doesn't mean everybody has to be as skeptical as you. Especially when it's coming from the usual negative Nancys around here.

Was so excited when this was announced! Pre ordered this along with Zelda and 1-2 Switch for my launch games. Its good to hear Lee enjoyed the time he spent with the game and I'm pumped the old Hudson gang is developing it. Thank you Konami and Nintendo! Can't wait for me and my brothers to play drinking games with this and 1-2 Switch on launch day!

Re: Nintendo Switch Pre-Order Stock - Tough to Find in the US, Easier in the UK

capitalism

@Yorumi

No it's a lot simpler than that: I see you on here everyday bashing Nintendo and the Switch. Go find something else better to do with your time. Go comment on a website where you actually like the product and/or company instead of being negative on this one every day. Criticism is fine buts it's also a lot different from chronic cynicism, which makes you sound like a fanboy from another company or just a really negative person in general. I have issues with other companies and even Nintendo themselves sometimes, but I don't devote my time to going to fansites of those companies to constantly complain and whine. It's pretty childish and petty if you ask me.

Re: Nintendo Switch Pre-Order Stock - Tough to Find in the US, Easier in the UK

capitalism

Sold out everywhere in the US in a matter of two days so I think that's a very good sign for the system especially since the US is the biggest market for video games. It's looking like the Switch will outperform the Wii U at launch by a good margin which I think is a good sign for long term success. The Switch is appealing to a much more broader audience which will only be a good thing for Nintendo. IMO this is mainly because the name, marketing, and messaging have been spot on. Also, I think Zelda fans are driving those numbers as well. Then we have Splatoon 2 for Summer and Mario Odyssey for the holidays which will ensure big sales for the system later this year. And yes I expect Nintendo to have some lucrative bundles for the holidays. Also note that we have E3 and a number of Directs to look forward to that will reveal more games and some surprises. On the other hand no wonder we see a bunch of complaining on this site. We have a bunch of self entitled Brits who are still sour over the SNES/Genesis era. 😂😂 I kid, I kid.

@Yorumi

We get it bro, you don't like Nintendo, their decisions, or the Switch. You don't need to comment on every post and say the exact same thing over and over again. Go play your PS4 and hop on over to Push Square since you're so adamantly against Nintendo.

@NEStalgia

Was going to say the same thing. Here in the US, we don't believe in screwing people over by letting them pre order something that may not be available come launch day. Americans would riot. Lol GameStop ties their pre orders to a launch day inventory number that NOA sets for each store. When I went to pre order mine at GS they had a sign on the door with the exact amount of Switch's they had for pre order. The store by my house was alloted 34.

Re: Guide: A Breakdown of Confirmed Nintendo Switch Games and Release Dates

capitalism

Zelda, Bomberman, and 1-2 Switch will be my launch games. Let the haters hate. All I know is I'm going to be throwing a party and having a blast come March 3rd. Sonic Mania, Puyo Puyo Tetris, and Fast RMX will be more than enough for Spring. Splatoon comes out in Summer and then Fall/Holiday will be Fifa, NBA, Skyrim, Xenoblade 2, Street Fighter, Steep, Fire Emblem Warriors, and Mario for me. With all those games I barely will have any gaming time left. And that's before E3 where we'll have a bunch of big announcements.

And for all the people saying you can just buy Zelda on Wii U: Have fun playing in 720p because I'll be playing Zelda in near 4K on my new new UHD TV which can upscale 1080p to near 4K quality.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Switch Presentation Summary

@darthstuey

But they have revamped their online which is why we're gonna have to pay now but I agree with other people that they should have showed it off last night. I'm thinking we'll get more info before release though. All your other gripes are petty though and $300 is peferect for a brand new hybrid console release. Just because YOU wanted to pay $200 for a "second console" doesn't mean that $300 is too much for EVERYBODY. I put money on Switch being sold out of all preorders by tomorrow and being sold out for weeks after release. Would you put money down to back your claim? I think it's funny too that people are whining about accessories prices but these are the same people who give Sony a pass and will pay $400 for VR or their first child for Vita's proprietary memory. Give me a break. You can be done all you want but I'll be sitting on my couch with a big smile on my face with a brand new Switch and a brand new Zelda on launch day.

@darthstuey

Actually yes I have. Had the original NES and Gameboy and have been a Nintendo fan ever since. I bet people thought Duck Hunt was weird when they first seen it too. Man all these no names around here are coming out of the woodwork. I wonder what their favorite console is and where they're coming from?

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Switch Presentation Summary

@PlywoodStick

Yeah because Windows 95 had haptic feedback, HD Rumble, motion controls, and an interactive camera. Hey, maybe people who don't socialize or party with other people might see it as a negative, but that's not MOST people. LMAO at bringing up people being negative in a comments section on the internet. Maybe you don't like it, but thinking you're cool for ripping on something you don't find interesting that other people do is quite childish and dumb in my opinion. Personally if I didn't like something, I wouldn't be in the comments section writing multiple posts about how horrible the product is. Maybe it's just me but I have better things to do.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Switch Presentation Summary

@PlywoodStick

Uhm I watched the stream and it wasn't bad at all. Just because you don't have a taste for something doesn't mean it's worse than Wii Music. I could definitely see me and my friends popping this game in at a party and having a blast. To each their own though.

Re: Hori Has A Wide Range Of Nintendo Switch Accessories On The Way

I only buy Hori or Nintendo when it comes to accessories so I'm definitely getting that starter kit. Can't wait to put my Switch in that case! Probably gonna pick up the multiple joy con charger and the trigger/joy stick caps too.

Edit: Actually I think I'm just gonna go with the rigid case instead and buy the screen protector film separately.
