Puyo Puyo Tetris may be old news to Japanese players but the fact that it's finally coming to the west is certainly something to celebrate - and if you're keen enough to be contemplating a pre-order then you'll be pleased to know a neat bonus is being offered in North America.
Pledge your cash now and when the game eventually arrives you'll become the proud owner of some rather fetching Puyo and Tetrimino keychains.
Is Puyo Puyo Tetris on your radar at the moment, or has this news been enough to push you over the edge and place a pre-order? Let us know with a comment.

I've not really payed any attention to this game. Must check out its price. Though going by all the other prices, it'll be expensive. I see $40 on Amazon. Don't see a physical release for Europe.
I would like to get this, no sign of a date for Europe though. Hope it's not too overpriced like '1,2' other games
This game seems like it will be a blast! I cant wait to play all the different modes this has to offer.
This is a £10 (roughly) digital download title, right? Right?
Sigh, Sega hates Europe. Shame the 3DS version isn't getting released here either.
So bored of every comments section being full of moaning about prices
@Vegaphil What are your views on the pricing? Is $40 a fair price in your opinion? I can't find a listing for the UK.
Date release for Puyo Puyo Tetris USA version ?
I'm looking for physical release.
So you buy the keychains and get the game!
Right?
Not my type of game but I'm glad someone will have great looking keys.
for 40 no thanks.
Not sure why people are complaining about prices for this game. If you do your research, you'll know that this game has online play, local play, party modes, AND an adventure mode with a story. So yes, I think 40 dollars is fair. 1,2 switch on the other hand...
I've been waiting for a Puyo Pop/Puyo Puyo entry to make it stateside after so long (I think the last one was Puyo Pop Fever for DS/GCN), so I'm definitely jumping on this.
But as tempting as the key chains are, I'll likely go digital for its pick-up-and-play, party game style.
Loved the Puyo series since I stumbled on Mean Bean Machine, all those many many many years ago.
I also had that moment of "Hey, they ripped off Dr Robotnik!" that I'm sure a lot of other folk had.
I'm not 100% sure about the addition of Tetris, but as long as there's a "Just let me play PuyoPop" mode, that'll do me.
.. It will have that, right!?
...
... Right!?!?
Well my mother would love the game, looks right up her street. However, can't say it's something that would keep me interested for too long.
@Jayenkai A lot of us are too old to make that mistake.
@DanteSolablood I'm 36.. I still made that mistake!
I blame the age-old argument of us Brits not being big console players. It's all about the Home Computers. (Or at least, it was for me!)
@Jayenkai Naw, I'm 35 and our family had been console players... and PC users (some of our family worked in computers). Must admit my younger brother had a thing for Sonic & Ol' Ovi Kintobor's Mean Bean Machine though!
@Shellcore
I think 40 bucks is a fair price for something like this, a game which, let's be honest, you can get hundreds of hours out of if this is your "thing."
But with today's consumer? If it's not less than 20 bucks, it's immediately accused of being overpriced simply because it's not Uncharted or Battlefield.
@DanteSolablood Can't remember exactly when it dawned on me, but it was probably when playing through one of those emulation CD's from back in the days. Pre-internet, grab a CD from the local computer fair, and sit playing through hundreds of roms!! Aaah, those were the days!
It was either that, or finding Puyo on the Dreamcast. They both happened more-or-less the same time for me.
I do like that developers so far are 9ffering physical goodies for preorders of retail copies of switch games. Puyo Puyo Tetris is getting Keychain, binding of Isaac first 1000 orders are getting a mystery prize. It's the little things like this that as a collector make me feel good about preordering. Unlike EA and others who publish a $60 game just to reduce the price by 50% a couple weeks later....looking at you Titan fall 2. When publishers do this, it makes people not want to preorder
I'll be getting this when it comes out, I think these types of games will be a blast on the switch.
Told this story before, but this game was my wife's only demand for the Switch — and before she said so I had already preordered it.
Some concern about price is justified I think. Everything has that "launch tax" of 20% or so to take advantage of early adopters who need some games for the console. Fortunately, this game starts at a more reasonable price and I won't lie, it's a relief to already have Amazon Prime in the US and shave that 20% off preordered games. Takes the sting off. $32 feels better than $40. Also, my wife might actually use that tetromino keychain.
It is a nice touch. Yes, SEGA is slapping the "launch tax" on the game but it's including a fun little physical item to make it a nicer experience for the early birds.
Aside: Only problem with Amazon preorder is that I'm obsessed with trying to get Zelda Special Edition on there to save money, but it hasn't been restocked since announcement night. The distance from $48 for the game Amazon preordered to regular Special Edition price (which I also have on preorder) makes the inclusions harder to justify. I mean, maybe get amiibo instead? Curse those savings!
I'm a sucker for puzzle games, so I'll probably end up getting this.
If the pre-order contains download code for that game and two of the keychains, I would get it.
@rallydefault I guess everyone has their own perception of value, however, they will have a specialised category team looking at pricing trends and how many sales could be generated at different price points. I refuse to believe what we are guessing is the RRP would be the optimum point of margin vs unit sales. From a business perspective, it doesn't make sense. From a "I would buy it" perspective, for you it completely does. I wouldn't buy it at $40, because for me it doesn't represent good value. However, at $20, I certainly would. Which price point would make them then most money? Well, that's what they pay many people to find out.
If this is as cheap as Has-Been Heroes here in Aus ($40) I'm in! If it starts breaking the $60 mark I think I'll pass. Kids love Tetris though so would be a winner if at the right price.
@Vegaphil If the title of the article talked about price, I would expect the comments section to be all about the price (ahem... cough, Bomberman R, cough). But this article only mentions the Puyo and Tetris keychains as preorder bonuses. I'm sure this won't cause mass preordering of the game, but for those on the fence about preordering it will likely be a good incentive to buy now. Personally as a launch title I don't think I'm on board, but I know some people who would so I think it's good to know.
I highly recommend everyone play this game if you like puzzle type games at all. I imported it for my PS4 and I absolutely love it.
its $30 digitally and $40 physical for all the people asking.
@Varelius I think that's fair. The digital discount is definitely welcome, since there's more cost that goes into a physical release. How many modes does it have? Tetris DS was well worth the $40 at launch with six modes and Axis even moreso. Never played a Puyo Puyo game, so I'm not sure what to expect.
Since it's $40 physically, that makes it about $32 with Prime discount (or Gamer's Club at Best Buy) so I'm torn, on one hand I think the keychains are cool and the limited physical release is fun, but it's also a puzzle and multiplayer game, so it might also be nice to have it digitally on the console always....
@Kilroy VS, Fusion, Swap, Big Bang, Party, endless an so on.
Ranked 1v1, 4p matches of 1v1v1v1/2v2/3v1.
Basically any puzzle fans dream. You can also play puyo vs tetris if you so want.
I've wanted a western release of it for years and now its happening.
Yeah I love Tetris and puyo pop so I'll definitely be looking out for this if it comes to the UK. On the subject of pricing I think £30 is about right for this. But I need more info as it could be worth more if theres lots to do. I play Tetris on 3DS loads with my wife so if the multiplayer is good then it will be great fun on switch.
Q) Is Puyo Puyo Tetris on your radar at the moment, or has this news been enough to push you over the edge and place a pre-order?
A) Puyo Puyo Tetris is on my radar, but it has yet to become available to pre-order at GAME, and I've heard nothing about any keychain being available with the game in the game. Hopefully when it does become available to pre-order, the keychain offer will also be there.
As usually I don't have the money to spend on preorder mumbo jumbo.
I don't even know If I will have the money for this game...
but damn, puyo puyo is softly whispering my ear everyday since I saw it at the switch presentation, telling me nast... erm I mean, telling me to buy it...
This is so hard =/
This is precisely the type of game I want to get digital. Only planning to get major games like Zelda on cartridge. Everything else is going on a 200GB sdcard.
Even though the keychains are very tempting this kind of game is better suited for a digital purchase. I want this bad boy available anytime I want to play it on the go.
I'm terrible at Puyo Puyo, but I adore Tetris, and this game looks fine. I'm heavily considering a purchase.
This game has a weird release. It's available on PS4 and Xbox One in Japan, and it's now coming to PS4 and Switch in the west. The PS4 version is physical only at $30, while the Switch gets it digitally for $30 and the physical version with the keychains for $40.
@IceClimbers So essentially, you're paying for the keychains.
