I’m pretty early. I keep getting whooped by what seems to be a regular enemy. Way more tanky than even the Great Husk Sentry from City of Tears. Not sure if this is a mini-boss or something I’m not meant to face yet. Having a great time so far though!
Wow! I just finished Clair Obscur Expedition 33 last night and was worried there would be a huge void of games for a couple months. Already got a list of things to get today.
Mina the Hollower demo UFO 50 Heretic and Hexen I was about to start Undertale on Switch 1 too. This should keep me busy until Silksong, Prime 4, and FF Tactics remaster.
Fine with the hybrid model. I love it. Add a higher number to the next gen. Great! No problems here. Add little things like Joy Con mouse controls. Love it! But…. Here’s what I take out of this topic.
Loved the 3DS stuff. It had apps. It had themes. Things from the Wii and Wii U. Music would play on different channels or apps. I loved that stuff. It gave the consoles so much Nintendo personality. I’d also like them to open the system a bit more. I’m still begging to back up my game save files to my own disk. Not that I’m cancelling NSO, but give me control over that data. I put the time into it.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance PS5 Canon of Vengeance Fusing high level demons for the last boss and prepping to fight Demi-fiend. Then will start a NG+.
First party stuff:
A Kirby game
New Mario Party
New NSO additions (TurboGrafx16/ PC Engine)
Nintendo Switch Classics Series (price drops and repackaging for your Mario Kart’s, Zelda, etc. Set for holiday, no price drop in console)
Third party:
Dragon Quest III HD2D
Suikoden I&II Remasters (hopefully)
Stuff we won’t see:
Metroid (Prime 4 next year)
Zelda (WW, TP. They don’t exist and that double pack is a not realistic)
Silksong (Just no. Not happening here)
It would naturally make sense for all three. I’m not the biggest fan of the Roto/ Erdrick Trilogy, but I’d get this day 1. DQI would be interesting in HD2D.
And as other people already mentioned, the mobile ports on Switch are UGLY!!!!!! Ruins all three games.
Romancing SaGa 2 from the SFC era. This is the best game in the franchise IMO. It’s fun playing through generations and choosing who your Emperor/ Empress is (until the endgame). There’s some weird things that can happen to the Seven Heroes and the plot of the game is really interesting. Soundtrack is great too.
Romancing SaGa 3 is okay, but it seems buggy and rushed.
SaGa Frontier is good but frustrating. I like some of the character playthroughs, but not all of them.
SaGa Frontier 2 is great and needs a port or remaster for the Switch/ current gen hardware. Great OST and art design.
I haven’t played anything past the PS1 gen, so I don’t know about more current titles.
@LastFootnote That bothered me so much. I thought it would be something I got used to later in the game. Nope! I still loved my play through of it though. Even with the mess it’s still my favorite FF game. Overall the collection is everything I wanted. Some of my favorite games ever (coming from an older gamer).
Oh. I know. Believe me. I am older than you think. Atari 2600 in 87 was my first experience. Kaboom! Couldn’t get enough of it. NES around 88. Nintendo Power subscriber since day 1. Back in those days there was always something to play as a kid. Delays were nothing back then to me. Development doesn’t take 6 months to a year anymore. Seems to me they make a trailer, announce the title, then get to work. Could be 5 years before you see the game. By then you don’r care or forgot. Just my thoughts.
@wiiware Better delayed then a poor quality release? Publishers need to learn how to develop the product before marketing it to consumers. I am tired of excuses these days. Have something of quality to sell before you start hyping up a fanbase. Delays are bad for business in this crowded video game market. Just my thoughts.
I am honestly sick and tired of video game marketing. Just please stop showing games that are years out. I only want to see them when a firm release window is in place (your game has completed development and testing). I’m looking at you Konami and Team Cherry.
Oh please give us some SMT ports like IV and IV:A. Give us remakes of SMT I and II also. Won’t happen, but we can hope. TGS might finally show Suikoden I and II remasters from Konami. I’m excited.
I was really excited until I saw it. Is it just me or do the sprites colors seem very bland and blend into the scenery. I don’t like the character portraits either. Oh well, still picking this up day one.
Persona 3 Reload A bunch of DLC Dragon Quest III HD2D Konami said Suikoden I and II remasters for 2023, they didn’t show up at Sony, Xbox, or SGF. Now seems like the best time. Too early for FFT Remaster No way Silksong is here. That’s probably early next year. Anyways, I just want some cool games announced. We’ll see.
Lol. 4 grand will maybe cover rent, food, and gas for a month here in the Bay Area. All for being an actor in a game that will make millions and live on forever.
Top 10 games all time for me. Yes, it can take a while to eventually click with the player, but when it does, it makes it so worthwhile. I’ve done 4 play throughs now. All that’s left is to finally take down NKG and the Pantheons.
I’m not optimistic. I think they have their schedule loaded until early 2023. I’m guessing a Feb 2023 Direct will be the next general event. If we could get Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters and Silksong on Switch this year I’m good until 2023.
I don’t remember Team Cherry saying anything about Silksong being Switch exclusive. They planned on launching on PC, macOS, Linux, and Switch, and possibly Xbox and Playstation later on. Hollow Knight did really well on the Switch and the release there probably got the majority of the current fan base. Microsoft comes along and wants it on Gamepass. Rightfully so.
Maybe there was no release date or year because they already had a deal with Nintendo to have that a future Direct. Speaking of a Direct, can we please get the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters on Switch?
Saw a picture of Hornet on NL, immediately dropped my phone, then realized we got this “news” last week. Don’t expect this at an Indie Direct. They probably have the budget to market this game ahead of release.
To anyone who got lost in HK, no shame at looking at a guide on where to go. Once that game clicks with you, it hits hard. One of the best games ever made IMO.
Quick backstory Saw Pocket Monsters in a magazine in the mid 90’s. Wanted to import it. Didn’t do it. Got either Red or Blue US version. Never played it much. Got Shining Pearl today. Basically my first Pokemon game ever. Just waiting for this massive update file to download and install.
Trying to wrap up my backlog before SMT V in a couple weeks. Metroid Dread- searching for a few extra Energy Tanks for the last boss. Died a bunch of times already. Mario Party Superstars with friends Maybe a few rounds of Mario Golf. Then probably some N64 and Genesis. I caved and got the Expansion Pack. Have a good weekend everyone.

Re: Opinion: Ogre Battle 64: Person Of Lordly Caliber's Revolutionary Heart Still Burns Brightly
Please just bring all Quintet and Quest games to NSO. Just make it happen. At the very least let us buy some collection bundles.
Re: "I Have No Words" - Silksong Fans Are Losing Their Minds Over One Bench
Loving this game. Pharloom is deadly. Danger around every corner. Hallownest was sick and dying. It’s good world building.

Re: Hollow Knight Has Now Sold Almost 15 Million Copies
I’m doing my 10th playthrough of Hollow Knight right now. This game never gets old. I wonder if I can get through all the Pantheons before Sep 4th.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Finally Has A Release Date
It’s almost here!!!

Holy crap! I read this hours ago as “Mario Party added to NSO Music”. Now I’m all excited!!

Too early to tell for me. Canon of Vengeance about 10 hours in.

Waiting by the door for Amazon to drop off SMTV:V PS5 Steelbook.
Still playing TTYD and having fun.
Nearing the end of Chapter III Law Route on Tactics Ogre: Reborn as well.
Bring on that Direct!

Re: Soapbox: After Restarting My Save File, I Finally 'Get' Hollow Knight
Such a great game. Played it through on every console now. Still working on P5. It will be a while.
Re: Poll: What's The Best SaGa Game? Rate Your Favourites For Our Upcoming Ranking
SaGa II&III are good from the first trilogy.
Romancing SaGa 2 from the SFC era. This is the best game in the franchise IMO. It’s fun playing through generations and choosing who your Emperor/ Empress is (until the endgame). Not happening?
Silksong….
Re: Feature: "JRPG Isn't Just One Blanket Kind Of Game" - Star Ocean: The Second Story Returns 25 Years Later

I felt the same way at first. Then I played the demo and it changed my mind.
Re: Star Ocean The Second Story R Scores Free Demo On Switch Today
I love Star Ocean 2. When I saw the trailer for the remake I thought it looked bad and was disappointed. Just finished the demo. It was……
Freaking great. Now I can’t wait.

A bunch of DLC

Too early for FFT Remaster
No way Silksong is here. That’s probably early next year.
Anyways, I just want some cool games announced. We’ll see.
Re: Video: We Put Persona 5 Royal On Switch Through Its Paces
SMT mainline fan here. I haven’t played this spinoff since Revelations Persona and Persona 2 (both entries). I might give this a shot on Game Pass.
Re: Bayonetta's OG Voice Actor Asks Fans To "Boycott" Third Game After PlatinumGames Wage Fallout
Lol. 4 grand will maybe cover rent, food, and gas for a month here in the Bay Area. All for being an actor in a game that will make millions and live on forever.
Re: Konami Is Bringing Suikoden I & II Back With HD Remasters On Switch Next Year
Yes!!!
Suikoden was the reason I worked all Summer to save up for a Playstation back in the late 90’s.
Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think Of The September 2022 Nintendo Direct?
@AhabSpampurse and minimal hair if Prime HD doesn’t release this year.
Re: Game Journalist Doubles Down On Zelda News At Upcoming Nintendo Direct
Lol! None of this is happening. These people just make things up for clicks.
Re: Rumour: It's Not Even September And Nintendo Direct Rumours Have Already Started
My money is on no Direct.
Re: Nintendo Announces The Next N64 Game For Switch Online + Expansion Pack
Love this game! Just need Pilotwings 64 and the N64 Controller you can’t buy to play them!
Re: Switch Listing For Classic Square RPG SaGa Frontier 2 Surfaces Online
@wuntyme8
I’m with you there on the Pixel Remasters. Patiently waiting for those.
A “finished” version of Xenogears would be awesome too.
Re: Switch Listing For Classic Square RPG SaGa Frontier 2 Surfaces Online
Nice!
Seriously though, what ever happened to Star Ocean 2? Thought the PSP version was getting ported over.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 26th)
Mostly Elden Ring on the Series X.
Picking up Kirby this afternoon and will play that on the OLED in handheld mode here and there.
Re: Atlus Announces Soul Hackers 2, But It's Not Coming To Switch
Sees Xbox. Watched trailer.
Wait. Is this a Persona 6 fan demo? I failed to connect that to Soul Hackers or Devil Summoner.
Re: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Are Out Today On Switch, Which Version Are You Getting?
Quick backstory
Saw Pocket Monsters in a magazine in the mid 90’s. Wanted to import it. Didn’t do it.
Got either Red or Blue US version. Never played it much.
Got Shining Pearl today. Basically my first Pokemon game ever. Just waiting for this massive update file to download and install.
Re: Metroid Dread's Producer Would Like To See Samus In Her Own Movie One Day
I’d prefer it didn’t happen, but if it did, very little dialogue. Let the visuals and suspense tell the story.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 30th)
Trying to wrap up my backlog before SMT V in a couple weeks.
Metroid Dread- searching for a few extra Energy Tanks for the last boss. Died a bunch of times already.
Mario Party Superstars with friends
Maybe a few rounds of Mario Golf.
Then probably some N64 and Genesis. I caved and got the Expansion Pack.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 9th)
Dread. I think I’m about halfway through. Want to play some Actraiser Renaissance tonight also. Finishing up Kasandora there.
