Ugh. Last couple times Capcom made a deal like this with iam8bit, I heard the carts could set fire to a real SNES if played on it. Not to mention that SFII isn't exactly a rare cart either. I also have both games (as well as SFII and Turbo) on their original carts. I also have Rockman X2.
@Drac_Mazoku I don't understand any of it, and I agree on continuing and the beginner mode. Shared lives doesn't make sense to be because 4p means more targets. Even with skilled players, it doesn't sound like a good idea to me.
@Drac_Mazoku Natsume commented on the multiplayer in the Steam forums. They claimed that they used shared lives to keep the game balanced and challenging and were adamant on not changing it, despite the negative response to the change.
That said, the game is excellent in single player and I enjoyed it enough to purchase it a third time (first one PS4, second on Steam, and third on Switch).
Dragon's Blaze released today, but it only showed up in the eShop and still isn't listed on NoA's website. I bought it.
A couple games listed in this week's update, Punch Out and Lode Runner Legacy, actually released last week. Punch Out came out last Friday and Lode Runner Legacy came out last Thursday, but didn't appear on Nintendo's website until the eShop updates were available to purchase.
edit: Dragon Blaze showed up in Nintendo's website, I just mistyped it.
I'll definitely be picking up Star Force! Odd that it has been on JPS4 for awhile, but hasn't yet been released in the US on PS4. Definitely getting it for the Switch.
Is the PS4 version also missing the level editor? I tried looking up reviews, twitter, and using search engines and no mention at all of the level editor.
I like this game quite a bit, but slightly disappointing that, like the PS4 version, there is no way to configure the controls to dpad (or arrow buttons) and buttons, which worked well on the JP SNES version. Especially disappointing if you want to play it with the RAP. The dual analog does work well, though.
I went ahead and bought Gunbird from the JP eShop with eShop credit from Play-Asia. I also bought Zero Gunner 2. The good news is that the menus are completely in English when the language is set to English for both, unlike some shmups I bought from the JP PS Store.
@Blister Is Gunbird available to download in Europe? It was taken down on the US eShop and is still not available to purchase. Nintendolife, any news on when Gunbird is coming back to the US eShop?
I watched some videos of the game and was not impressed. Some levels end abruptly and the framerate is bad in places, often when there is little on screen.
@readyletsgo "Amazon are the only company who just send another one."
Don't know about UK, but that's not true for the US. Best Buy once sent out an item after I cancelled it (and the website even showed that the item was cancelled).
I wish Amazon and other companies made marketplace sellers honor sale prices and offer items at non-inflated prices. I feel they are part of the reason items go out of stock so fast.
Filler instead of news on whether or not Sega 3D Classics Collection Final is still coming to the US/Europe? There was that Miiverse page named 3D Classics Collection 2 and then nothing since, not even at E3.
Speaking of botched. Why is there STILL no US/EU announcement of something well emulated like the second (third in Japan) SEGA 3D Classics collection for 3DS? Nothing at E3, AFAIK.
I'm disappointed that there still isn't news on a US release of the SEGA 3D Classics Collection with Alien Syndrome and Thunder Force III. I was hoping it would be in the Nintendo Direct, but it wasn't. I hope that is one of the games that will be announced soon.
While the GBC only screen itself isn't interesting, Pokemon Puzzle Challenge has a hidden mini Panel de Pon version on b/w GB by pressing A 24 times and then B 24 times at the GBC only screen.
I had a felling FZ SMS with FM was in the US Sega Classics Collection when I read the translated interview at blogs.sega.com discussing it and saw English screenshots. The original game didn't have FM. The new FM is very well done and better than the FM on most SMS carts. According to the interview, the FM also works on real SMS hardware.
I wouldn't mind seeing a 3D remake of Gain Ground, Golden Axe, or Alien Syndrome.
The Anniversary Collection wasn't perfect either and had issues with input lag (at least with the PS2 version) and inaccurate sound in some games (especially with Mega Man 1). 7 had issues with the SNES mode 7 effects and cut out part of the ending. 8 had some slowdowns that weren't in the original game. Power Fighters also slows down quite a bit in the collection, which doesn't happen as much in MAME (not sure how it acts on a real arcade machine).
Nice interview, but it's misquoted. Kitamura is referring to other games as being unfair and absurd, not Mega Man. It's also misleading and untrue to call Mega Man one of the most brutal platformers.
I'm thinking of getting Mad City on the Famicom since the fighting parts are less tedious in that version (and I will be getting a FC Zapper for Christmas).
@ChessboardMan Some Codemasters carts were available for an accessory called the Aladdin Deck Enhancer, as well as a version on a stand alone NES cart. Dizzy the Adventurer is only available as an Aladdin cartridge.
@JJtheTexan They were released in the US. I have Quattro Adventure on cart and I have seen Fantastic Dizzy in stores. I used to see ads for them in magazines like EGM too. The cart shape of Codemasters NES games is different since they weren't licensed by Nintendo.
@JJtheTexan Incorrect. Fantasic Adventures of Dizzy, Dizzy Prince of the Yolkfolk (under the name Dizzy the Adventurer), Treasure Island Dizzy (on the Quatto Adventure cart), and Go Dizzy Go (on the Quattro Arcade Cart) were released for NES.
@KnightRider666 I don't think the VC is missing much with MM Game Gear. It's a cookie cutter game that takes levels from some of the NES games and has odd scrolling. It doesn't have unique stages, features, and music like the GB games. Not to mention that all of the GB and NES MM games are on 3DS VC. Don't get me wrong, I would like to see more GG games on VC (Sonic Chaos is an odd exclusion), but MM isn't one of them.
I don't know why this is news. Natsume also said no more retro games were being released on the WiiU VC before Nintendo released Earthbound Beginnings and Vs. Excitebike.
Natsume also said something similar about the WiiU VC. Not too long afterwards, Metal Marines got released for it, a game I never expected to see on VC.
At least it's not the same deal as iPad 1 where the YouTube App doesn't play videos any more, but links in the web browser still try to open it instead of going to the YouTube website.
Disappointing that the YouTube apps don't have the full features of the web version for consoles. It's a similar deal on 3DS where only the web version has 3D (and for some odd reason Miiverse links to the app version for its videos).
I hope they add Super Mario Land items as DLC. It would be nice to make levels with bomb koopas (Nokobon), Goombos (Chibibo), and the bounce ball power up.
@DarthNocturnal I don't suggest deciding whether it's something to write home about based on one review or the fact it was japan only. I like this version quite a bit myself. I prefer the best out of 5 of Vs. to the best out of 3 system of the NES version and the complete times for the stages actually seem to be more lenient in some cases in Vs. It's also worth mentioning that selection B of the original Excitebike is just as tricky with the computer AI as Vs. Excitebike.
Not to mention that the arcade Vs. Excitebike used to be fairly common in the US and is very similar to the main 1p mode of this version.

Doh. It is on the US eShop, but wasn't on NoA's website earlier. odd. Looks like it just didn't show until the eShop updates went live.
Re: Lode Runner Legacy Sneaks Onto The Switch eShop Today
No mention in the title that this is for EU, not US? It's not even listed on the NoA website.
Re: Review: Bad Dudes (Switch eShop)
Sounds like I'll be sticking to the Data East collection for Wii, which at least has the charge intact.
Re: Video: Get To Know The Cast Of Upcoming Switch RPG Penny-Punching Princess
First the calculator class in FFT and now an action RPG starting a character with a calculator.
Re: Random: Bad Dudes vs. DragonNinja Fan Art Is Being Used To Promote eShop Release
I also noticed the icon image for the game uses art from one of the computer versions. If you look closely, you can see the "imagine" logo.

Re: Review: Arcade Archives Crazy Climber (Switch eShop)
@guamyankee Funny you mention that since there is an Atari 2600 version of Crazy Climber. I disagree that it looks like an Atari 2600 game, though.
