Re: Review: Wild Guns Reloaded (Switch)

@Drac_Mazoku I don't understand any of it, and I agree on continuing and the beginner mode. Shared lives doesn't make sense to be because 4p means more targets. Even with skilled players, it doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

@Drac_Mazoku Natsume commented on the multiplayer in the Steam forums. They claimed that they used shared lives to keep the game balanced and challenging and were adamant on not changing it, despite the negative response to the change.

That said, the game is excellent in single player and I enjoyed it enough to purchase it a third time (first one PS4, second on Steam, and third on Switch).

Re: Nintendo Download: 5th April (North America)

Dragon's Blaze released today, but it only showed up in the eShop and still isn't listed on NoA's website. I bought it.

A couple games listed in this week's update, Punch Out and Lode Runner Legacy, actually released last week. Punch Out came out last Friday and Lode Runner Legacy came out last Thursday, but didn't appear on Nintendo's website until the eShop updates were available to purchase.

edit: Dragon Blaze showed up in Nintendo's website, I just mistyped it.

Re: Review: Arcade Archives Crazy Climber (Switch eShop)

I like this game quite a bit, but slightly disappointing that, like the PS4 version, there is no way to configure the controls to dpad (or arrow buttons) and buttons, which worked well on the JP SNES version. Especially disappointing if you want to play it with the RAP. The dual analog does work well, though.

Re: Random: Mother Orders Nintendo Switch From Amazon, Gets Box Of Washing Powder Instead

@readyletsgo "Amazon are the only company who just send another one."

Don't know about UK, but that's not true for the US. Best Buy once sent out an item after I cancelled it (and the website even showed that the item was cancelled).

I wish Amazon and other companies made marketplace sellers honor sale prices and offer items at non-inflated prices. I feel they are part of the reason items go out of stock so fast.

Re: SEGA 3D Classics Collection Has a Tenth Game to Unlock and Play

I had a felling FZ SMS with FM was in the US Sega Classics Collection when I read the translated interview at blogs.sega.com discussing it and saw English screenshots. The original game didn't have FM. The new FM is very well done and better than the FM on most SMS carts. According to the interview, the FM also works on real SMS hardware.

I wouldn't mind seeing a 3D remake of Gain Ground, Golden Axe, or Alien Syndrome.

Re: Review: Mega Man Legacy Collection (3DS)

brianvgplayer

The Anniversary Collection wasn't perfect either and had issues with input lag (at least with the PS2 version) and inaccurate sound in some games (especially with Mega Man 1). 7 had issues with the SNES mode 7 effects and cut out part of the ending. 8 had some slowdowns that weren't in the original game. Power Fighters also slows down quite a bit in the collection, which doesn't happen as much in MAME (not sure how it acts on a real arcade machine).

Re: Nintendo Has "Moved On" From Game Boy Games on the 3DS Virtual Console

@KnightRider666 I don't think the VC is missing much with MM Game Gear. It's a cookie cutter game that takes levels from some of the NES games and has odd scrolling. It doesn't have unique stages, features, and music like the GB games. Not to mention that all of the GB and NES MM games are on 3DS VC. Don't get me wrong, I would like to see more GG games on VC (Sonic Chaos is an odd exclusion), but MM isn't one of them.

I don't know why this is news. Natsume also said no more retro games were being released on the WiiU VC before Nintendo released Earthbound Beginnings and Vs. Excitebike.

Re: The YouTube Wii U App Has Another Update

brianvgplayer

Disappointing that the YouTube apps don't have the full features of the web version for consoles. It's a similar deal on 3DS where only the web version has 3D (and for some odd reason Miiverse links to the app version for its videos).

Re: Review: VS. Excitebike (Wii U eShop / NES)

brianvgplayer

@DarthNocturnal I don't suggest deciding whether it's something to write home about based on one review or the fact it was japan only. I like this version quite a bit myself. I prefer the best out of 5 of Vs. to the best out of 3 system of the NES version and the complete times for the stages actually seem to be more lenient in some cases in Vs. It's also worth mentioning that selection B of the original Excitebike is just as tricky with the computer AI as Vs. Excitebike.

Not to mention that the arcade Vs. Excitebike used to be fairly common in the US and is very similar to the main 1p mode of this version.
