As someone who grinded a ton of Angry Birds in my younger years (as in, before I got a 3DS younger years). . .Goldeneye is the only one on that podium that deserves the honor. I had more fun with that than I ever did with any Angry Birds game.

DK94 was good, but I think it's a bit overrated. It got very tedious in the later worlds, to the point where I didn't even finish it. Still worth playing, though.

@DTFaux oh, I'm aware of that. Problem is, I don't we would've been much better off with Kamala. People voted for Trump because they were tired of the mess that was the Biden administration. This isn't even the first time this has happened in our country (look up the presidencies of Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan).

First off, how is Nintendo lower than they were in 2016? That was their worst year ever, even taking FE Fates and TPHD into account.

Second, I know 2024 was still an average year for Nintendo, but outside of them and SEGA, I smell heavy corporate bias in this ranking.

Honestly, we did this to ourselves. In fact, we've BEEN doing it to ourselves even before videogames were even a thing, thanks to dogwater government policies in the 60s, 70s, and beyond. In order to heal, our nation needs to suffer.

@Bluerangervegeta obviously I didn't do my research, but saying Game Pass still far exceed NSO is laughable. It's far more pricey, and the only reason I would get it is for Halo and Rare. Nothing else Game Pass has to offer ever appealed to me when I had it, not to mention it took up so much space (in comparison to the NSO apps, which are mere specks on a 256 GB SD card). What's worse is that any game on Game Pass is at far more risk of being removed than anything on NSO.

@Tasuki it's the second most faithful remake they've ever done after Ocarina 3D. It only adds, honestly, especially with the soundtrack. Shimoura came back and cooked with this one.

just like the actual game, the soundtrack of A Link Between Worlds was far better. I actually dont like the soundfont of this game's soundtrack, which is just one of numerous issues I had with this game (don't worry, difficulty was not one of them).

@Wisestfool It's genuinely hilarious how people criticized Nintendo for throwing garbage NES and SNES games onto the service, but then when said games get taken down, they criticize Nintendo for doing that.

In all seriousness. . .I dont care. Nintendo will most likely ensure all of their games will be available on future devices, and since I sure dont have an NSO sub for the third parties. . .yeah, I'm good.

Ah, early 2017. Back when I was too busy with Minecraft and Lego Dimensions to care about Nintendo. Nowadays, that couldn't be further from the truth, but it makes me look back on years gone by and realize how good I had it back then.

Also, the Mother series is the one Nintendo series I'm ok with getting HD-2D remakes of. I could see myself genuinely enjoying that.

And yet diehards treat their games like dirt.

Yes, Kirby is easy. Yes, Earthbound is extremely simplistic. And yes, Smash Bros was never that great for single player. But in each game this studio pumps out, I see a vision, a charming, cozy world, and a magical adventure so distinctly Nintendo, yet so different from their other outings. Out of all of Nintendos subdivisions, HAL has always been the most consistent, and they have my respect for that.

@Coalescence which would you rather have? Weather effects? Or all the changes made in the 3DS version, plus all content from both previous versions on one card?

Xenoblade 3D had stereoscopic 3D, a music player, and support for the Shulk Amiibo. Does that mean the Switch version, with remastered music, improved visuals, and an extra story, isn't definitive? Is Kirby RTDLD not definitive without Scope Shot?

@RadioHedgeFund technically Forza DOES do that, since rewinding cuts your pay each time you use it in a race.

Between this and my recently acquired copies of Wario Land 1 and Kid Icarus Uprising, I'm finally stepping out of my comfort zone this year when it comes to Nintendo. Fire Emblem 30th Anniversary box, here I come!

Cartridges/cards age better, anyway.

@Zeebor15 no, that would be Tomodachi Collection DS. Since then, we have also gotten Wind Waker, Nintendogs, and Wii Sports.

@Dev-N Smash 4 had some crappy remixes, but Save the World, Heroes and Dark Lord were among the best.

I'm not worried at all. All of this will subsidize in due time, and we will all be better for it. Besides, Nintendo needs incentive to make better quality products.

@NintendoArchive you're telling me. MK64 has a higher ranking than MK7, Kirby Star Allies is the lowest mainline Kirby (it should not be below Pinball Land, Canvas Curse, or even Dream Land 1 and 2, let alone under half the Kirby list), and Fire Emblem Fates has a score of 8.3. I think nostalgia is getting the better of some people (though I have no explanation for Fates other than good gameplay).

Also, pretty sure Wario Land II should be one entry.

I'm actually playing through the first game, but I think it might be over praised. It's definitely good, and I can see why many still cherish it, but man, some of those secrets are Dream Land 2 levels of maddening, and unless I'm using the jetpack or constantly dashing, Wario moves at a snails pace. I unironically still like it more than SMB3 and Yoshi's Island, and I do also think it's a little better than Mario Land 2, but chances are high that this will be my least favorite Wario Land (still very good, though).

@Neckcrane funny thing, something similar happened to me when I got Lego Star Wars III: the Clone Wars instead of the Complete Saga, yet to this day, I've always preferred Clone Wars over Complete Saga (which is actually how I feel about the actual show in comparison to the original trilogy, even though those movies are still top notch).

I'm actually playing the first Wario Land, which I bought before the WL4 announcement but didn't come until this week.

On one hand, NSO enabled me to play through many of Nintendo's finest games in a way Virtual Console probably wouldn't have.

On the other, though, you know you have a problem with your service when a higher up wants something back.

@tweaknmod I've seen some playthroughs on it and understand the gist of what it offers. I'm saying a run through of the N64 original with all 24 masks (which is what I'm going to attempt for both versions) is a good idea to do once in your life.

Haven't played much of either, but here's my takeaway:

N64 version is worth 100%ing at least once in your life.

3DS version is what you play afterward when you want some Majora but don't want the extreme frustration.

@Mz3player they should at least include "Super Sonic Racing" as an available song.

Screw you for making me want this as a Transformed fan, SEGA.

Seems like Nintendo needs to up their ante with the next Mariokart. . .and perhaps a new Fzero.

Only ones I've played are the ones on Switch Online and Battle League, and I did not care about ANY of them.

Also, pretty sure Hoops 3 on 3 should be #1.

Sigh, why even bother with any of the others when Wii Sports Resort exists.

@andyg1412 Forgotten Land sold more than Metroid Dread, dude. This game in particular far exceeded the 1 million mark in its runtime.

@PepperMintRex what you on about? Magoland is insanely fun for multiplayer, and it actually gave me a reason to play the sub games more than once. Not to mention the picks were incredible (Checkerboard Chase HD. Aw yeah.).

By the proclamation of the Haltmann Works Company, I command you to pick this game up.
