@Dalamar that's ironic, considering Canvas Curse (and Rainbow Curse, by extension) is widely considered by the Kirby community to be one of the worst games in the franchise (a sentiment I myself share).
After doing everything except 10 of the Vol. 2 gacha figures, I can safely say that there was no low point in the DLC. It was completely fun from start to finish. The problem is that it could've been $15. I normally don't criticize cost, since that's subjective, but Kirby Fighters 2, which was its own game, released 5 years earlier for $20 and had more to offer. Again, I don't regret my purchase, especially after the crazy lore drops (which I won't spoil). I just think I could've saved some cash if the price was a bit more reasonable.
Too bad the game controls like molasses. I'm all for atmosphere, but only if the gameplay is also good, i.e. Link's Awakening, which came out the following year.
I will admit that the remake lost some of that atmosphere, though (as opposed to the Link's Awakening remake, which, imo, did not).
I'll believe it when I see it. Save Gatling Pea's return in PVZ2, I've been disappointed by the handling of this franchise since BFN's release. The series peaked with 1 (console version), 2, and GW2.
First off, Bananza in first is insane, and I'm genuinely intrigued by it now.
Second, DK'94 and DKC2 should be lower and DKC3 and DKJB should be higher. I found the former two heavily overrated by nostalgia (though both still have their merits) while I found the latter two actually quite fun.
@Anachronism if I'm being honest, 1's ending didn't exactly set a high bar to begin with. Oh, it was good, but it also (to me) felt like they planned on expanding the world from the beginning. Melia looks in the direction of the Bionis ruins, foreshadowing Future Connected, and Shulk mentions how he can't wait to meet the new world's people, foreshadowing 3 and Future Redeemed. Tbh, I've seen more conclusive endings in Mario and Kirby games (esp. Galaxy and Star Allies). Therefore, imo, Xenoblade expanding its lore is a good thing.
Gonna go ahead and say that I might actually prefer base 2 over Torna, for a couple reasons. For one, base 2's cast was more likeable and in depth for me, and I actually really liked the humor. For another, Torna's community system is the worst thing I have ever seen in an RPG (like, Temple of the Ocean King bad). No game should ever have you put up with that, especially since you've already had time to spend with the people of Torna, making it worthless. It got so bad that I stopped after making Lora a Tornan Knight and just watched the rest of Torna's cutscenes on YouTube (something I have never done with any other game). Yes, Torna's mechanics cannot be understated, but looking back, base 2 was just overall better, even without Nia.
Finally, after all these years, the FBI actually does something worthwhile. I guess that's what happens when you're not trying to protect your name on. . .THAT list.
@Fiergala you make a lot of fair points, though I've seen footage of Engage's gameplay (I also don't have it yet), and it looks fun. And yeah, the story is stupid, but it kinda has that Shark Tale/Bee Movie appeal where it's so laughably stupid that it's almost worth it.
@WiiHawk that depends on who you're asking. For instance, I actually liked the gameplay of FE11 and FE15 (the two DS remakes) when everyone else didn't.

FYI, Mario and Wario does not have an entry in your database, NL. the link above takes you to the original Wario Land instead.
Re: Nintendo Music Adds Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Switch & GameCube Albums
@nessisonett they did change the soundtrack. . .and in the style of Origami King, no less (that's a positive change, imo).
Re: Nintendo Music Adds Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Switch & GameCube Albums
as someone who has yet to play this game, this is a sign.

@depwnz you should listen to Kid Icarus Uprising. Most of that game was Sakuraba's work.

Not because I don't want a celebration of any kind, but because going in with expectations at all is unwise. I'll let them surprise me.

Re: Random: Here's A Few Of Our Favourite Donkey Kong Bananza Easter Eggs
@9_10DOH64 not counting DK'94, DK has ELEVEN 2D platformers in comparison to two 3D platformers. I think this is a fair trade-off.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Donkey Kong Bananza?
9.1 currently. Wow. Just. . .wow.

I'll say no more.

I genuinely believe Wind Waker and FE9 are the best games on the system, with GX a close third. Sunshine can go take a hike, though.
