Without a doubt, one of the worst in the series, down there with Pinball Land and Drum Dash Deluxe. The fact that this was the only Kirby game on Wii U shows that HAL saw the writing on the wall for the console before anyone else did.
@GamerJunkie 10 years later, no one likes this game. I'm a Nintendo fan until the end, but that doesn't mean I won't be brutally critical of games that deserve far lower scores.
@cvrator I understand that. I love gaming history, and I give credit where credit is due, but that doesn't mean I have to unwillingly love and cherish every game I play, old or new. I know the importance of LTTP, and it may have been a 10/10 game in 1992, but when weighed against the rest of the franchise, it's not one of my favorites to go back to. Keep in mind, this is from someone who still has Super Mario World in their top 30 games of all time (which is a high bar, given how many I've played).
@Bret yeah, Paradise burned (HA) me out, too. Then again, FH5 had fast traveling, which definitely made things easier. I'm also a fan of PVZ GW2, which had an open playground hub you could goof around with your friends in.
As someone who bought FH5 Early Access when it came out and sunk dozens of hours into it, I'm long past the point of playing it again, but I would recommend it to anyone interested. The only issues I and others had were the corny story and (to an extent) the base game world map (even then the desert and volcano areas were, heh, PEAK). I'd also recommend the DLC, as the Hotwheels and rally races were very fun.
Just finished a race, and. . .yeah, add that one to the "better than MK64 by a mile" list. Only issues I had were the stupid first person view and the fact you can't cut corners through the grass. Very solid racer otherwise.
Doesn't apply to me. I've never even attempted to switch regions. Only reason I would do that is Mother 3, and I think I would rather wait for a remake.
@Crumpet123 no, you're not. It's likely that some aspects of the footage shown will be in the final game, but I'm waiting until that April Direct for real info.
Only 2D platformers I would ever want to play with friends are Mario Wonder, Kirby Star Allies, and Kirbys Return to Dreamland Deluxe. Still, this should be fixed.
Last week, my family found out they couldn't play most of the digital games on our family Switch due to my Switch Lite being registered as the primary and the fact that I bought most of the games on there.
@ClickBrick the thing is, though, those "distinct" features ended up not being very useful. Streetpass is somehow less useful than amiibo outside of Streetpass Mii Plaza (and even then, you can just grind Play Coins and buy your way through every game in the plaza), and the only games that actually used the Gamepad in meaningful ways were Nintendo Land (a launch title), Game & Wario (a mid game), Splatoon (a dead game with Switch sequels), and Color Splash (another mid game), not counting DS VC (just use your 3DS at that point). The Labo kits were more useful, tbh.
Did the Switch era have a slow OS, game droughts, or lack of good games in general? Then no, it's not Nintendo at their worst. I'm thankful I never bought a Wii U.
@Banjo- after the double bombshell of Nintendo Switch Sports and Mario Strikers Battle League in 2022, plus Splatoon 3s declining popularity, I don't think Nintendo will ever go back to rushing games and free content updates. In addition, rarely in Nintendo's history have they ever rereleased a game you could already play it on. The NPC series was done for people who didn't want a bunch of GameCube gear hooked up to their Wii, and TPHD was a special scenario. I'm not defending Wii Sports Club or Bowsers Inside Story + Bowser Jrs Journey, as those had absolutely no excuse, but otherwise, nothing Nintendo has ever done would lead me to believe they would ever rerelease Switch games on Switch 2.

Re: Review: Paper Mario: Color Splash (Wii U)
9 years and a TTYD remake later, I don't think we will ever see this game again.
Re: Talking Point: Where Should 'Luigi's Mansion 4' Take Place?
@Ironcore LM3 isn't THAT crusty, dude.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (8th February)
Taking a break from Zelda and beating some games I started months ago (or over a year ago, on Superstar Saga's case).
Re: Opinion: Miiverse Was Fine, But Does Anybody Really Want It Back In 2025?
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha NO

Re: Review: Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (Wii U)
@RainbowGazelle 10 years later, that's how the entire fanbase views this game. Mass Attack was an infinitely better use of the touchscreen.

@JackieCMarlow well, this one did give us Pizza Tower and Antonblast.

I'm terrified that Nintendolife knows of the existence of Scott the Woz.

@the_beaver so basically just like Splatoon.
Re: Switch Is Getting A New Manga Reader This March
"CoroCoro"
CoroCoro Splat Roller for S3 confirmed?
Re: Review: Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon (Wii U eShop / DS)
That fact that people called this their least favorite is enough to tell me that this came out before Fates, Heroes, the original, and Engage.
Re: Review: Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon (DS)
All those complaints about not including the Gaiden chapters, only for Echoes of Valentia to be released 8 years later.
Re: Zelda Dev "Wasn't Too Pleased" About Working On 'A Link To The Past'
If I'm being honest, Links Awakening and A Link Between Worlds were better, anyway.
Re: Nintendo Music Adds Classic Super Mario SNES Soundtrack, Here's Every Song Included
@Weeze86 nah, they should just straight up put all versions of Masked Dedede on there.
Re: Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games - Every First-Party Title To Pass One Million Sales
No OG Fire Emblem Warriors?
Re: Nintendo Music Adds Classic Super Mario SNES Soundtrack, Here's Every Song Included
Better than Mario 3. Just like the game itself.
Re: Feature: 12 Things Switch 2's Mysterious Not-C-Button Might Do, Maybe
#3 got me good 🤣🤣🤣🤣
And then, Miyamoto cutscene skip button 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Re: "Nintendo Is Probably The Easiest To Scam" - Devs Discuss The Current State Of The eShop
Something tells me the target demographic isn't the only reason the Switch has the highest concentration of physical games. . .
Re: Mysterious Patent Hints At "Predictive Input" For Nintendo Switch 2
They took those complaints personally.
Re: Nintendo's Punch-Out!! Series May Be Dead And Buried For Good
@Turbo857 I agreed until you said P Diddy. After what happened, putting him in anything would result in more backlash than Concord.
Re: Ex-PlayStation Boss On Switch 2's Name: Nintendo Created So Much "Brand Value"
@Coalescence I think they'll still be an outlier in the crowd. It was always about the games, anyway.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Has Been Rated For Switch
Rerelease of a T-rated game in a T-rated series is rated Teen. What a surprise.
Re: Kirby: Planet Robobot Figure Returns As A Good Smile Re-Release
$54.99 😭😭😭😭
WHHYYYYYYY?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st February)
Gonna finish Spirit Tracks so that I can move on to Majora's Mask. I'm playing through both versions to see if the 3DS version was really that bad.
Re: Random: Takaya Imamura Says Nintendo Never Celebrated Its 100th Birthday
Better that than what Disney did for THEIR centennial (though Once Upon a Studio was really good).

Don't care how big, as long as it exists.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's N64 Library With Namco Classic 'Ridge Racer 64'
WHY DID THE N64 HAVE SO MANY RACING GAMES?!?!
I'm not complaining, I'm just curious.

Re: GameCube 'Space World' Prototype Listed On eBay For A Whopping $100,000
You GameCube fanboys would totally buy it.
Re: Talking Point: What Do We Actually Want From 'Mario Kart 9'?
@Bret dunno about that, man. It made Forza Horizon fun.
At the very least, they should separate the open world and grand prix mode like what 2K did with Lego 2K Drive.

@BoostPower based pfp and username
Re: Talking Point: What Do We Actually Want From 'Mario Kart 9'?
Tbh, I don't care what happens, as long as:
1. It's still a good racing game, and
2. We also get a new Fzero. They can coexist, Nintendo. Make it happen.

SNES NSO update. Might wanna get that checked.

In other news, grass is green.
Re: Random: Astro Bot "Almost Outdid Nintendo At Its Own Game", Jokes Reggie
The one thing that makes me want a PS5. Don't know if it would ever top Galaxy or 3D World + Bowsers Fury, but it looks good nonetheless.
