@Zufolobelisk I like how you say few Sonic games are good and you include actually-some-of-the-worst-level-design-ever-put-to-disc Sonic CD in the list of good ones.
@CC13 They act the same as every other "honest business" and they've proven time and time again that they do NOT care about game preservation. Bad companies aren't less bad because you happen to like them.
@FormerGameAddict I would love a BoF collection but only if the games got some retranslating to unify spell/location/etc. names and concepts. Not character names though: I love the Western names.
And also some of the translation hiccups besides, like the hella compressed item names in 1 and 2.
But that's a LOT of text to parse...
That said, BoF4 got a GoG release recently. It's good! You should check it out.
There are way, waaaaaaaaaay worse games than anything in this collection, all of which are maybe a couple of degrees away from being great. And for some folks they are great already.
Way worse games than this. Have you ever played Smash Bros. Brawl? In that game, a basic movement option (dashing) coin-flips to screw you over with no input from you. Bubsy's level design may be questionable and they may put offscreen threats in evil places, but at least Bubsy doesn't trip over his own feet randomly.
No, but I'm grateful that I only buy things I know I'll play. I don't care if something is on sale for $0.99; if I know I'll never play it and don't have some other motive like supporting a specific dev, I'll keep my $0.99.
@Satans_Therapist Sorry to hear about your carpal tunnel.
That said, I once knew a local player who played high level MvC3 (he's beaten Filipino Champ) on an XB360 gamepad, using the analog stick. So I'm confident that enough practice on ANY controller will let you enjoy a fighter.
@Satans_Therapist Yeah the Pro Controller d-pad is horrendous. It looks like it should be great but it is way, way, way to easy to either hit or miss a diagonal when you don't need it. Fighting game inputs are tough, but accidentally hard-dropping in Tetris 99 is easy. I actually have an easier time in the latter with the left freakin' Joy Con's directional buttons.
@Scollurio I love how you wax poetic over how a particular course in a phony racing sim that'll never match how it works IRL must have an analog accelerator but the entire notion that I might not want one of my 6-button fighting game inputs to be in the left shoulder as opposed to the right is alien.
Double lol @ your frustrated dismissal at the end of this tepid rebuttal over people prioritizing their own preferences over yours.
Like, just say you have zero desire to hear what other people have to say instead of pretending otherwise. That way I can dismiss you outright instead of wasting keystrokes.
@Scollurio Six button fighters on traditional controllers map HP and HK to R1 and R2. There is nothing worse than an analog button for a binary action.
Even something like Halo played Boxer-style makes use of all the shoulders, and they feel way better for me when every action is on a non-analog button.
Racing games that put accelerators on shoulders get mapped to the face buttons with the swiftness.
@SirLink Interesting. I could see that because apparently the Switch needs the battery to power up even when docked, which seems like an odd limitation should something happen to said battery. Not unlike the controller having some one-off tech just to wake a Switch 1...
I managed to pre-order both a Switch 2 MKW bundle AND a Pro Controller 2, but couldn't get the powered grip nor the extra dock. Will have to snag those later.
I've yet to play Odyssey and I don't care to. Most Mario games are overrated (fight me). I DID enjoy Wonder an awful lot though; another one like THAT would rule.
This means nothing. If they aren't hall effect sticks, or aren't designed with the gear system used by the N64 controller, they're at greater risk of developing drift.
(The N64 controller blows, but the mechanism under the hood of the stick is actually great, even if the all-plastic design leads to wobbliness over time.)
@Giancarlothomaz Nao sou Brazileiro mas eu estou triste para ti. And I'll stop there because my Portuguese is of the European variety and I'm not sure how much translates to the Brazilian flavor lol.
I feel bad for you and hope things improve in terms of pricing, though I believe expensive electronics in Brazil has been a thing for a while now. :'(

Re: Unlike Nintendo, EA's Game Prices Apparently Won't Be Rising Any Time Soon
@StyrofoamCup Yes, I will hold the sins of the future against them now. Good comeback.
Re: Unlike Nintendo, EA's Game Prices Apparently Won't Be Rising Any Time Soon
When EA has the moral high ground over Nintendo.
Wow.
Re: Nintendo May Record Video And Audio From GameChat Sessions On Switch 2
@Purgatorium Right?
"Violating privacy is bad unless Nintendo does it" is quite the take, not only from commenters but from the article itself.

Re: Full Game List Revealed For Atari's Upcoming Bubsy Collection
@Puddle Agreed, but so is Nintendo and we're all still here.
There is a 99.6% chance any company you give money to is supporting something awful.
Moral grandstanding accomplishes nothing.
Re: Full Game List Revealed For Atari's Upcoming Bubsy Collection
@StewdaMegaManNerd Why not ALL of them having collections?

People mad about this:

@Smithicus Same.

Re: Xbox Is Raising The Price Of Consoles, Accessories, And Games Worldwide

All collusion, mark my words. MS, Nintendo, and Sony; all of them.

Re: Opinion: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's Best Gameplay Feature Is Straight Out Of Mario's Playbook
@Spider-Kev The whole reason they're considered bad in the first place is because they're in places they don't belong to pad things out.
When a game is designed around them, they're just as good as any other game mechanic.
Re: Nintendo Today Video Showcases The New Switch 2 Pro Controller
@Scollurio Yes, because having two non-analog buttons instead of four is the same thing. Good counter.
Re: Grant Kirkhope Apparently Got A Bananas Reason For His Missing Mario Movie Credit
Nintendo execs being petty when it comes to Rare? Must be a day of the week ending in "day."
Re: Yes, You Can Adjust The Camera In Mario Kart World
Cool and all but I want my Double Dash double karts back, complete with the ability to have two human players controlling one double kart.

@kuu_nousee Pretty much.
Re: Nintendo Today Video Showcases The New Switch 2 Pro Controller
@Jalex_64 Pretty sure you can only pair a Pro Controller to one console at a time, so this bit of Nintendo Defense Force propaganda falls flat.
Re: Poll: Which Switch 2 Accessories Are You Picking Up At Launch?
I managed to pre-order both a Switch 2 MKW bundle AND a Pro Controller 2, but couldn't get the powered grip nor the extra dock. Will have to snag those later.
Re: Nintendo Today Video Showcases The New Switch 2 Pro Controller
@SirLink I am 100% certain the old controllers have the capability to wake a Switch 2 but that Nintendo won't allow it.
Hoping the new Pro Controller has a better d-pad.
Re: Random: Missed Out On A Switch 2 Pre-Order? Sakurai Has The Perfect Solution
I am 100% certain Sakurai has access to a dev unit and that he entered the lottery purely for a personal Switch 2.

Depends on the game.

@jfp Honestly no. Just pointing it out.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 US Pre-Orders Start 24th April, System & Launch Game Pricing Unchanged
Everything either went up in price or stayed the same. Nothing went down.
Also no announcement for Canada.
EDIT - nvm, it's April 24 for Canada too: https://www.nintendo.com/en-ca/whatsnew/nintendo-maintains-nintendo-switch-2-pricing-retail-pre-orders-to-begin-april-24-in-canada/

Now if only the Pro Controllers had better d-pads...
