The collections I have for both Zelda and Super Show include all the live action stuff, but not instances in the Mario cartoon that used licensed music; it's all original music. Otherwise they're intact. It's the DVD collections from like a decade ago.

@Regalia776 Bandai Namco is a rich multi-national corporation. Even if this is based on the PSP version they have the resources to ensure local co-op at the very least is added. Given the standards set by games like Baldur's Gate 3, LAN/client-host games should be a thing, too.

@EVIL-C It's a part of nearly every non-portable entry, with mechanics and camera movement that accomodates for it. It is a cornerstone of the series, full stop.

Even if it wasn't, and it is, the original Eternia had it while this "remaster" does not. If that's not a dealbreaker for someone, all good; enjoy the game. But it won't get money from me.

Re-releasing a Tales game that originally had co-op is like releasing a Double Dragon game without co-op.

I've zero interest giving them money for this if I can't play it co-op with my family and friends like I did the original when it was called Tales of Destiny II on PS1.

@OorWullie Its story beyond the first game is basically just trying to one-up itself over and over. Always some great cosmic something that was ACTUALLY the thing behind the last great cosmic something. Like World of Warcraft's story but less compelling.

The first game's story was cool. Everything since has been... mid. YMMV of course; maybe you'd like them?

Now, the games PLAY just fine. If you're looking for a fun action RPG you can do way worse. But still, there's better.

@ParsnipHero Square Enix ignores 100% of the "constructive cumulative backlash." They don't care. A campaign, a boycott, a series of reviews, whatever: do them if you like but you're accomplishing nothing and serving no one.

Making the general public aware of this will get far fewer people on your side than it will just annoy people minding their own business.

There are bigger fish to fry, ones upstream of big corpos like SE. Getting to know your neighbors and talking to people is a much more constructive use of people's time, and something that will cascade into a system and society where people are valued over profit.

@swoose While I also haven't had very many issues with Nintendo batteries, they're still lithium and even well-tested batteries can start to bloat. In my household we had it happen to both a 3DS and a Switch 1 Pro Controller.

@Duncanballs As someone who grew up in the 80s and 90s, and gamed on a CRT for many years:

CRTs are garbage and I'm glad they are no longer the norm.

I've always hated them, and am glad I can play classic games in their crunchy, blocky pixel glory.

The arguments CRT purists make about how the blur is always objectively superior while showing a blown up blurry vs. pixelated picture of Crono or Dracula are cringe.

Get a CRT if you like the look, or if you have no better solution to reduce input lag, but it's hardly a requirement.

If counting things that are pretty much part of the Nintendo ecosystem only, it's a tie between Star Fox and Pokemon Champions (yes I also play it on Android, no it doesn't disqualify it, it's freaking Pokemon).

If counting things that are multiplatform, Pragmata, despite having played it on Steam. From what I've seen the S2 version performs well enough that if it was an exclusive I would've had a good time.
