You don't know how bad I want Link in this film to be either a) completely silent other than combat noises, OR 2) have an attitude and say "excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me, princess!" often. I am not joking.
People saying they've no love for Krafton as if Nintendo's own evil practices prevented them from purchasing a Switch 2. Stop playing at being a puritan and just get the things you like if indeed you like them. Here's hoping Hi-Fi Rush comes out on Switch 2 so more people can play it, as it's a good game. Chai for Smash.
@ElRoberico Yup. They're playing the game, so to speak, and they rely on us to take up arms against each other as if any of them are truly on our side.
@progx You COULD'VE said, "I'd still want Nintendo, and even EA, to exist in a world where they weren't encouraged to become what they are now," and I'd've conceded the point to you. But oh well. What could've been.
Not wrong to talk about all publishers screwing up. People mad because they're lumping Nintendo in with EA as if both aren't ultra-rich multi-national corpos that the world would honestly be a better place without.
@boxyguy "you talk a lot about what goes into the mindset and practice of being creative, but I'm starting to think you don't really have any creative hobbies at all"

@Polvasti I like how you cherry-picked the part where the author discusses energy use as an issue but completely ignore, like, most of the article, including everywhere else energy use is discussed.
Data centers use the same energy everything else uses, so not sure where this "most of the energy data centers use isn't sustainable" nonsense comes from. The negative environmental impact of energy production is a byproduct of class society and capitalism, where the choices are made by the tiny few who own everything. It's a much, much more complex issue than just AI or data centers.
@Zuljaras Yes, it is 100% in the editing. That is where ALL creativity happens. Nothing is truly (un)original; we iterate on and are inspired by what came before and put our own spin on it.
The thing you can draw with a simple pen can still be rough and in need of editing to shine. And it can be slop, just like AI slop.
Yes, those are all tools. And it would be as silly for someone to decry using an e-pen and a tablet instead of pencil and paper as it is for someone to decry using AI to assist today.
Creativity is in editing. Raw AI output needs editing as much as the rough draft as a manuscript or rough storyboard sketches.
That so many Nintendo first party titles have the philosophy that people should just adjust to what the developer thinks is the best control scheme is disgusting.
Talks about AI, debunks many of the common arguments against, and while a long video, unlike many other long droning-on YT videos, this one is actually both informative and entertaining.
@Swiggity_Swanky This would be a fantastic analogy if it wasn't terrible in every conceivable way.
The strawman you set up about me creating art with AI when I specifically talked about AI as one tool in the whole process is chef's kiss, as is the notion that someone who never used it will automatically find success BECAUSE of that alone.
Please don't respond if you don't understand what's being discussed, with thanks.
Not even remotely. Generative AI never was the problem, is not theft, and is a fantastic tool for brainstorming, researching, and basically all the things you can already do with Google and other tools, but way faster.
@B3RTAY I don't find it lackluster, I find it deliberate. I like the run cycle I've seen in Dual Override way more, mind you, and my favorite of the classic series is MM7, which is the first time a classic Mega Man title felt super premium. But anytime I play 11, which is fairly often actually, I don't feel like I'm looking at something that animates poorly.
Played the Pragmata demo on Steam and Capcom has something special here. Deliberate movement, needing to do a hacking puzzle while also dodging enemies, a cool boss to cap things off, compelling worldbuilding; the works. Y'all should try it.
For the price point, it should've had: a proper glass screen and not this wafer-thin glass with a scratch-prone plastic layer; handheld ergonomics at least a quarter as good as the Steam Deck's; games that aren't as egregiously expensive as they are.
I don't regret the purchase, but I still wish Nintendo was a third party dev, so I could've enjoyed games like Bananza and Metroid Prime 4 on my PC.

Not a fan of Returns, but that's a cool update!

I think I'd prefer if they went with the more direct, in-your-face approach with her. Like have her devour a Goomba whole in a Direct.

@TerribleTerabytes Even if that's true, and I doubt it, lesser evil is still evil.

@snil4 Yes, that completely invalidates what I said. Strong rebuttal. Also anybody who drives a car can't want better for the environment. Much logic.

If AI is "theft" then so is any inspiration and iteration. Very good video on the topic that debunks common arguments:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XegV-KnmxqU
Speaking of debunking, the "AI is destroying the environment" claim is bogus:

@AStupidID AI being bad for the environment is a myth; you're thinking of crypto.
RAM prices are the fault of class society and capitalism, not the fault of automation (which is what AI is). You are blaming the wrong thing.

@B3RTAY People also don't have robotic bodies, arm cannons, and nemeses with names like Wily.

Dual Override looks great so far. Loooooooooong wait though.

@B3RTAY He has a wider body and it looks like a more dynamic run cycle. 11 went with something more deliberately robotic.
Re: Round Up: Everything Announced At The Game Awards 2025 - All Switch 1 & 2 Reveals
Star Wars Episode 1 Racer is the best F-Zero game that isn't F-Zero and if Galactic Racer is anything like it, it'll rock.
Re: The Game Awards GOTY For 2025 Is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
@Axecon E33 is technically an indie title.
Should another game have been there? Sure. I'd've nominated Quartet myself. But E33 is still indie by TGA's definition.
Re: The Game Awards GOTY For 2025 Is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Well earned by Expedition 33.
MKW winning best racing is a disappointment. CrossWorlds is leagues better.
Re: Mega Man Returns In 2027 With A "Brand-New Entry" For Switch And Switch 2
Apparently this is the "12th entry" so I got the Mega Man 12 I wanted.

Re: Random: Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour Wins GameStop's "Worst Game Of The Year" Award

@Spider-Kev I didn't think that far ahead. I dunno, HBO?

I mean, there are two Warner Bros. right? Netflix gets one, Paramount gets the other. Problem solved.

@Spider-Kev You're correct about how they play people against each other, but I don't think you'll find much buy-in in this comment section.
