Re: Nintendo's Pokémon Catching-Related Patent Has Been Rejected In Japan

@UpsideDownRowlet Plagiarism is pretend, and if those designs are "plagiarism" then 2D platformers are also "plagiarizing" Mario. It's just more nonsense in defense of IP law.

If it's found out that there's original Nintendo code in Palworld, then there's an argument to make. And even then, it isn't as if Nintendo hasn't done that themselves.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Pokémon Legends: Z-A?

5/10, tops.

It's fun, but cheaply made, and there's simply no excuse for the price. I bought it knowing my copy would be played by me and multiple others in my household; if it was just for me, I would've never.

Maybe if it a) didn't have PS2-looking textures, 2) had voice acting, and D) didn't cost like 3 Expedition 33s (an RPG that looks better, sounds better, plays better, and has voice acting), I'd rate it higher.

Re: The ROG Xbox Ally X Receives Glowing Reviews, But It's Still Pretty Pricey

I was eyeing one to replace my Steam Deck, but between the price, the recent MS nonsense, and my Deck still working fine, I opted to pass.

If it had included the ability to play all my past XB Original, 360, and Xbone games tied to my MS account though, natively on the device, I probably would've jumped immediately into a few rounds of Harmony of Despair.

Is the Switch 2 a bargain by comparison to the new XB handhelds? Probably, but still really lame that the Switch 2 didn't come with a proper glass screen and hall effect sticks on the joycons.

Nintendo fans when Breath of the Wild iterates on ideas from the Elder Scrolls games: "I can't believe Nintendo invented open world fantasy tropes like crafting and climbing."

Nintendo fans when other games iterate on ideas from Nintendo games: "WHIP THEM. WHIP THE PISS RIGHT OUT OF THEM. SUPPORT THE BILLIONAIRE ORGANIZATION AT ONCE."

Re: Nintendo's Out To Get $4,500,000 In Damages From Ongoing Switch Piracy Case

@Clammy Terrible analogy. The former is not denying Nintendo money; the pirate wasn't going to pay Nintendo anyway. The latter is not the same thing.

And even if you meant that example to be me developing a game that got pirated, your analogy would still be terrible because piracy has actually helped indie games find audiences. "Video Game Piracy Is Good, Actually" by Lextorias; look it up.
