Though honestly after getting away with charging money for Swtich 2 Welcome Tour, a game that should've been free, and also cheaping out on the Switch 2's screen and not-hall-effect analog sticks, I really shouldn't be surprised.
"We want more of your money than we already have, and we hope to convince more of our audience that Nintendo truly cares about its fans, so when people rightfully point out that we're just as bad as our competitors, our unpaid zealots will defend us."
These limited-time events are absolutely unnecessary for a single player game. Terrible FOMO practice you normally see in MMOs (and it sucks there too). Bananza is a great game but this practice is a mark against.
@Wexter Their government made their bed, yes, but I don't ascribe their sins to their people. As for RAM just sitting in a warehouse, yeah, I'm not surprised.
@Wexter I'm lucky that when I built my latest PC a couple years back I opted to slap 64 GB of RAM in it. At the time I thought it was overkill. Now I'm glad I did it.
@NPC411 I do play mine and enjoy it, but that I have housemates who also play it justifies the cost. For me alone I wouldn't have bothered, or at least it would've been a harder sell.
If Nintendo really tries to raise prices, whatever the excuse, that's an aggressively evil move.
@Mommar It takes way more effort to admit you're wrong than it does to just cry "bot" at someone. But I guess some just prefer the path of least resistance. /shrug
Here's something you can latch onto the "bot" strawman with: Chinese RAM is what is going to drive our RAM prices down, and it'll be better quality than what you can get outside of it. In fact some people are already saving money buying RAM directly from China even with high shipping costs.
@neogyo Problem isn't AI, the problem is class society and the drive for profit over helping people. In China, AI is broadly popular because it's used to aid people and develop infrastructure. Here, it's used as a money printing scheme. The tech itself is not the problem.
@jake1421 A 3-day "strike" is not "withholding labor," it's LARPing. No deals will be signed, no negotiations will happen, no meaningful change will occur.
@Tyranexx Loads of Japanese companies are as bad, or worse. But even if some use a better pay structure that won't solve the underlying, systemic problem.
Though my opinion of Braid has tanked in the past few years, I still think it would be funny if Braidman showed up in Smash and had a nuke as his Final Smash.
Haven't played Silksong. I played Hollow Knight for the first time late last year and enjoyed it for a while, but got bored and stopped. And if Silksong is more like it, I'll pass. So where's the "neither" option?
The open world Zelda games (TotK and BotW) are fun to be sure, but both still feel half-baked, like tech demos meant to showcase that the right dev team can work wonders with less powerful hardware and still make a good game. And that's awesome! ... But something feels lacking about both, and I hope the next attempt nails it.
@Kestrel The best mobile RPGs are the ones that are just good mobile ports of good console RPGs, like the first 3 Dragon Quest games on Android, or Vay on iPhone from like 150 years ago.
@voidemissary Being an "outlier" invalidates what I feel about the game and makes my opinion "ignorant?" lol k. Not everyone universally feels the same way about everything. I accept this sidestep as your surrender.
@voidemissary I've played the game multiple times and missed nothing. It's ostensibly a love story where the love is mired by societal pressures, imperialism, a machine literally named Deus (aka God), and Evangelion-esque sequences inside people's heads which are about as meaningful here as they were in Evangelion (ie not at all), and all in service of a cynical person's unflattering thesis of humanity. I like how it plays and I like most of the characters but it is a Kato story through and through, for better and (mostly) worse.
Not a fan of Kato's storytelling. I love Chrono Trigger and get that he had the difficult task of consolidating many storytellers' visions into a cohesive whole, but Trigger rocks BECAUSE it's more than just his vision. When it's Kato on his own, you get, depressing, cynical stories like Chrono Cross and Xenogears.

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite 3DS Model?
New 3DS XL. Good 3D. Great otherwise. Still have mine. Need to test its battery before selling it. Lots of good memories.
Re: Poll: Will You Be Getting Pokémon FireRed Or LeafGreen On Switch?
Absolutely not.
Re: "Please Don't Post Or Share Pre-Release Leaks And Spoilers" - Capcom Sets Its Sights On Resident Evil Requiem Leakers
Agreed, please don't leak things. Especially not directly to me. In detail.
Re: Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen Is Getting A Stunning 'Special Edition' Release In Japan
Cool. Still a ripoff.
Re: Pokémon FireRed And LeafGreen Officially Revealed For Switch
@Don "The leak said $30 so being $20 is actually good" is not the flex you think it is.
Re: Pokémon FireRed And LeafGreen Officially Revealed For Switch
@Don What do you mean what do I mean?
I think you know full well.

Nintendo has needed to be humbled for years over their greed.

Re: Nintendo Is Considering A Switch 2 Price Hike This Year, According To New Report
@Novuscourvous Welp, you're wrong. They don't care about you other than that you keep lining their coffers. Sorry you had to find out this way.

@Novuscourvous Sincerely hope you're joking.

Disgusting.
Remember: Nintendo is as evil as Sony and Microsoft. There's this myth that they're "less evil" and that they truly care about you. They do not.
Re: Opinion: This Is The First Game That's Come Close To Rivalling The Best Paper Mario
Paper Mario games aren't for me. The demo of this also wasn't, but it's charming and I wish it all the best.

@OldManHermit The demo on Steam involves the "old god' storyline, if you're curious.

@BrazilRules Yup. He's behind quite a few very pretty games, sometimes with amazing OSTs and fun mechanics, but the stories are... messy.
