@Fiergala Haven't played either. I thought the same team that did the original Scott Pilgrim fighter went on to do things like Shredder's Revenge. I could be wrong. I didn't triple-verify my sources.
The first Scott Pilgrim 2D beat 'em up was dull garbage dressed up in video game references. In that way it's extremely faithful to what Scott Pilgrim is. They did way better in their future beat 'em ups.
I wonder if it's because a lot of women realize that most Mario games are overrated.
Yes, they pave the way for better things, but outside of some standouts (Yoshi's Island, Wonder, the Galaxy games, the DKC games and Bananza if we can count those), they're aggressively-just-okay.
@LazyDaisy This is wildly misleading. The Steam Deck doesn't have DLSS because it uses an AMD processor, which has its own variant called FSR. Don't spread misinformation please.
@Exerion76 Same here. I have both and each is used for different games and in different situations.
k. I respond to bad faith nonsense in kind, but believe what you like. As I said I'm not going to get another ban.
Anywho:
I've needed to fix multiple Nintendo controllers.
EVERY SNES controller I've had, every single one, needed repair. And for the record I'm super gentle on my controllers, and have been even as a kid. SNES pads have always been flimsy garbage, even out of the box. They feel cheap and over time they suuuuuck.
NES pads never needed repair, though even as a kid they were monstrously uncomfortable.
EVERY GameCube controller I've ever had, had its analog sticks degrade. Again: I treat my controllers well.
One of my Switch 1 Pro Controllers had its battery bloat; a potential fire hazard.
In this way Nintendo controllers are no different than their competitors. I've had good and bad controllers from Sony, MS, Sega, 8bitdo, GameSir, ASCII, Mad Catz, PDP, Hori, and so on ad infinitum.
I'd say overall the most reliable controllers I've ever had were Sega pads. Master System controllers felt more comfortable than NES, the Genesis pads (3- and 6-button) are legendary, the good Saturn pad is a joy, and even the Dreamcast pad (with hall effect sticks out of the box!) performs way better than it looks.
But rather than answer this mess the way it deserves and risk another ban, I'll give you this: you're right, it's subjective.
Me personally, controllers with awful d-pads (like the original Switch Pro Controller), sticks prone to drifts (like all of Nintendo's analog sticks post-N64, Switch 2 Pro included), and lacking an easy way to replace a failing battery (like this new controller, and most modern Nintendo hardware in general) are not good.
I don't have a favorite controller, because never in my life have I found the perfect one with ALL of the following: a good d-pad for platformers and fighters, two analog sticks, six face buttons, and either non-analog triggers or triggers with the option to change them to be non-analog.
@9_10DOH64 1983, for me. My first controller was an Atari 2600 joystick, and I've also used almost every controller imaginable. "THIS is the best controller ever made" is a laughable claim.
I trust that since you're the one who brought up years as though they mattered and claimed you've used every controller (lol), this settles the matter.
People saying the kid has to dye his hair to play Link. Um, no the hell he doesn't. Who cares what Link's hair color is. Link has had multiple hair colors over the years.
@MyMemory No problems here; Death Note is not difficult to understand. It is the product of an author who fundamentally misunderstands what stands between modern society and a better world. The Netflix series is faithful to that silly story.
Even if it wasn't (and it is), it's laughable to judge all adaptations based on the quality of one. That's a YOU problem.
@sethfranum Concerned about a lack of Japanese actors but absolutely refuses to spell out the word "Japanese."
Anywho, it's fine. Actors act. There are Japanese works set in Western settings filled with characters speaking Japanese (even in settings where the Japanese language is rare, like Guilty Gear) and even Japanese live action adaptations of said things with Western settings with Japanese actors. It ain't that big a deal.
Strive still looks super-good today. Like it is visually stunning even in 2025. If they want to add more characters and story they can do so as Strive DLC.
@CapAmerica I am not a Nintendo fan, and I definitely would get this on Steam if Nintendo ported their games to PC. But I don't think it's a matter of defending the performance dips here as much as expecting them. Voxel terrain chunking with more than just Minecraft details needs processing power, unfortunately.
Doesn't bother me as long as it doesn't negatively impact the experience. As long as it's still possible to read what's happening and as long as the performance dips aren't eating controller inputs, I'll live.
I'm no Miyamoto defender and in fact dislike quite a bit about his views and design philisophy.
But I do understand the position here. I also think there's overlap between product and art, and just because you view something as a product doesn't mean you cannot express yourself through it.
Said it before, saying it again: all the big game companies COLLUDE. Yes, including "good guy" Nintendo, as evidenced by this story among countless other things.

Re: Japanese Charts: Donkey Kong Bananza Sells A Bunch, But Can't Beat Mario Kart
Proof that sometimes sales don't reflect quality. Bananza deserves the accolades, Mario Kart World does not.
Re: Nintendo's LEGO Game Boy Officially Revealed, Releasing October 2025
Would be boss if it actually played games lol.
But still cool as a display piece.
Re: Best Donkey Kong Games Of All Time
DKC2 > DKC3 > DKC1 > Tropical Freeze = DK '94 > the rest.
Not sure where Bananza slots in yet. Might be tied with DKC3, might be on par with DKC2 even.
Re: New Pokémon Legends: Z-A Trailer Finally Gives Dragonite The Love He Deserves
Very long overdue Mega Evolution for the OG dragon boi.
Re: Best Virtual Boy Games
The Wario game is legitimately great and it's a crime it wasn't re-released elsewhere.

Re: Round Up: 10 Switch 1 & 2 Games We Played BitSummit 2025 - Here's What We Thought
At lot of these games look tight, and Steam Deck friendly.
I suspect that means they'll be right at home on Switch 2 as well.
Re: More Switch Games Reportedly Receive Switch 2 Compatibility Fixes
Would be nice if the YouTube app worked again.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Weaponlord (SNES)
Weaponlord deserved better. I'd love a remake.

@sethfranum It means exactly what I typed.

@MCHuddle I'm going to predict that you're entirely wrong and that it will print money.
Re: Sonic Racing: Crossworlds On Switch 2 Will Feature The Full Base Game On Cartridge
@AgentGuapo Literally every modern Nintendo game gets patched. They didn't invent QA ffs.

@Yalloo People who like fun.
Re: Review: Donkey Kong Bananza (Switch 2) - Absolutely Smashing, But Can It Beat Mario Odyssey?
I mean, I never played Odyssey nor did I ever care to. THIS however has me excited.
Re: Nintendo Announces First Cast Members For The Legend Of Zelda Movie
@MyMemory I don't see why. Netflix Death Note sucked, which makes it 100% faithful to the source material.

Re: Rumour: A Nintendo Direct Is Set To Take Place Later This Month, It's Claimed
Nate the Hate has been on-point before so I'm guessing the Direct is happening this month.
My wishlist is always out there, but here's hoping we see Mega Man X9, Final Fantasy VI-2, and Phantasy Star IV-2.
