The demo was really good, and since Nintendo is allergic to releasing Zelda games without sometimes ill-thought-out gimmicks, games like this and Girl From Arkanya scratch the itch.
@kmtrain83 Demand our governments focus on people and infrastructure. Talk to your neighbors. Believe in your fellow man. Don't buy into the misanthropy the richest and worst among us want us to believe. That's all we can do, ultimately. I realize that's not much of a solution, but a solution won't come from just one person.
At the very least, we can and should stop the AI fearmongering hysteria, which is ultimately just degrowther nonsense.
Hooray for more AI fearmongering. Can't have enough.
"Should we encourage more usage of AI as infrastructure, in the hopes AI will be aligned with aiding people, and specifically in game development per what our family of websites is about?"
"Nah just put out more of the myth that AI is plagiarism. Full day's work."
I didn't watch it because it's not my kind of game, but based on what I read it would be a fun time for people who enjoy SIMS-style distraction. Nothing wrong with that.
Now includes Bonkers and Goof Troop. I'd've preferred also including the SNES Aladdin, which is vastly superior to Virgin Game's version, but I'll still take this.
Enjoyed the first movie, despite it not being quite as good as the Sonic films, mostly due to actors sounding like they don't want to be there. Suspect I'll enjoy the second, and I'm hoping said actors have found their enthusiasm.
@Pho Wildly incorrect. If AI is "theft" then so is any inspiration and iteration. Very good video on the topic that debunks common arguments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XegV-KnmxqU
You don't know how bad I want Link in this film to be either a) completely silent other than combat noises, OR 2) have an attitude and say "excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me, princess!" often. I am not joking.
People saying they've no love for Krafton as if Nintendo's own evil practices prevented them from purchasing a Switch 2. Stop playing at being a puritan and just get the things you like if indeed you like them. Here's hoping Hi-Fi Rush comes out on Switch 2 so more people can play it, as it's a good game. Chai for Smash.
@ElRoberico Yup. They're playing the game, so to speak, and they rely on us to take up arms against each other as if any of them are truly on our side.
@progx You COULD'VE said, "I'd still want Nintendo, and even EA, to exist in a world where they weren't encouraged to become what they are now," and I'd've conceded the point to you. But oh well. What could've been.
Not wrong to talk about all publishers screwing up. People mad because they're lumping Nintendo in with EA as if both aren't ultra-rich multi-national corpos that the world would honestly be a better place without.
@boxyguy "you talk a lot about what goes into the mindset and practice of being creative, but I'm starting to think you don't really have any creative hobbies at all"
Translation: "I am committed to misunderstanding you, and seek to make dialogue impossible, so you can dismiss me and I can claim you've nothing to say."
@Polvasti I like how you cherry-picked the part where the author discusses energy use as an issue but completely ignore, like, most of the article, including everywhere else energy use is discussed.
Data centers use the same energy everything else uses, so not sure where this "most of the energy data centers use isn't sustainable" nonsense comes from. The negative environmental impact of energy production is a byproduct of class society and capitalism, where the choices are made by the tiny few who own everything. It's a much, much more complex issue than just AI or data centers.
@Zuljaras Yes, it is 100% in the editing. That is where ALL creativity happens. Nothing is truly (un)original; we iterate on and are inspired by what came before and put our own spin on it.
The thing you can draw with a simple pen can still be rough and in need of editing to shine. And it can be slop, just like AI slop.
Yes, those are all tools. And it would be as silly for someone to decry using an e-pen and a tablet instead of pencil and paper as it is for someone to decry using AI to assist today.
Creativity is in editing. Raw AI output needs editing as much as the rough draft as a manuscript or rough storyboard sketches.
That so many Nintendo first party titles have the philosophy that people should just adjust to what the developer thinks is the best control scheme is disgusting.

In the store because why waste the money.

Unfortunate considering how much better it is than Mario Kart World.

Re: Mega Man: Dual Override Robot Master Design Contest - Top 20 Designs Revealed, Voting Now Open
I voted for Cactus Man, and I wish I could've had two votes because Valve Man is rad as sin.
Most of the cleaner robots are meh. Vac Woman is the coolest among them.
Re: Google's 'Project Genie' Is Basically A Huge Plagiarism Tool, So When Will Nintendo's Legal Ninjas Strike?
There are places on Earth (eg, China) that align technology and automation (AI included) with people and infrastructure.
Tech bros are an aberration; tech itself is not. Growth never was and never will be the problem.
Re: Google's 'Project Genie' Is Basically A Huge Plagiarism Tool, So When Will Nintendo's Legal Ninjas Strike?
@kmtrain83 This cynical, misanthropic nonsense accomplishes nothing and serves only the worst among us.

I want Sally Acorn and that one buff superhero version of Tails from the Archie Comics.

Re: Pokémon Developer Game Freak To Reveal More About 'Beast Of Reincarnation' Later This Month
@PinderSchloss AI fearmongering so out of control that comments like this are commonplace.
Re: Pokémon Developer Game Freak To Reveal More About 'Beast Of Reincarnation' Later This Month
This game has the visual fidelity and production values that Legends Z-A should've had, especially for the criminally high price Legends sold for.
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder + Meetup In Bellabel Park Arrives On Switch 2 In March
I really liked Wonder so more content for it is a plus. I'll likely nab this. I do pine for a SMB Wonder 2 though.

@Tempestryke The demo of 4D is quite good, so not sure where the "allergic to improving" comment is coming from.
