Re: Full-Scale Development Of Shin Megami Tensei V Has Finally Begun

@SLIGEACH_EIRE

You are ridiculous and the prime example of someone with more money than sense.

These games were eventually going to be re-released regardless. There's no point letting them die in obscurity with a system that was a massive failure when you have a system with a much larger install base.

Re: Twilight Princess HD Nearly Had Wii Remote Controls

Zeraki

Can't say I'll miss the Wii controls, if it wasn't for the fact that I lost my Game Cube copy (and wasn't able to find a decent replacement at a reasonable price) I would have never gotten the Wii version of Twilight Princess.

The HD version being based on the Game Cube original was the biggest selling point for me, the cleaned up visuals and other improvements were just icing on the cake.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Official Website Has Gone Live in North America

Zeraki

@edgedino It's not a bad place to start, the game largely assumes the player has at least played through Ocarina of Time so it doesn't really do a good job of explaining things like the origins of the goddesses and the Triforce (I don't think the Triforce is ever actually mentioned by name in Twilight Princess) so a few references may be lost on you, but I think it's one of the best games in the series.

Sees Endless Duel review
"Wait what!? Did it finally get localized"!?
clicks review and sees it's just for the Japanese version
"Oh... oh. /sigh"

Much like Turtles In Time this is among the games that if by some miracle made it onto the eShop, I'd buy without a second thought.

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Time Gets CD Quality Audio Hack

Zeraki

I saw the thumbnail image in the link and my heart skipped a beat. I thought it was getting a re-release on the Virtual Console or something.

I used to rent this game all the time when I was a kid and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately when I've tried emulating the game in the past it just wasn't the same, the graphics and the audio were all kinds of messed up and I could never get it to work right.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is Hitting the Wii U Virtual Console Very Soon

Zeraki

After playing the 3DS version i find it very difficult to go back to the original. It's got all of the best stuff of the original version with improved visuals and improvements to certain other aspects of the game (Iron Boots). So I'll just stick with the 3DS remake.

The only thing I don't like about the 3DS remake is the censorship. I can understand removing the chanting in the Fire Temple and the removal of the crescent moon and star symbol... but changing the blood in the final battles from red to green? Really? It's a nitpick but it annoys me.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Franchises We Want to See at E3 - Star Fox

Zeraki

@atomicjuicer I always loved that the original Star Fox felt so much like a space opera. The atmosphere was perfect and surprisingly dark for the time. Then there were the sweeping orchestral movements (as best as they could manage on the SNES at least) which have stuck with me for years. And there were actual consequences if you didn't protect your wing men, they didn't leave for repairs, they just straight up died. I'd love to see the series to go back in that direction.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Franchises We Want to See at E3 - Star Fox

Zeraki

If this turns out to be just Star Fox 64 HD with some new bells and whistles I'm going to be disappointed. I'll be even more disappointed if it turns out to be a multiplayer only game.

This announcement is what I'm looking forward to the most this E3 while simultaneously being the one I'm dreading the most.

Re: Feature: The Best Pro Wrestling Games That the N64 Has to Offer

Zeraki

When I was a kid I sunk so many hours into 'No Mercy' just creating my own wrestlers with their own little back stories, gimmicks and rivalries. It was like the ultimate combination of playing both a real and imaginary game at the same time.

Now I kind of want to go dig out my N64 and my copy of the game.
