You are ridiculous and the prime example of someone with more money than sense.
These games were eventually going to be re-released regardless. There's no point letting them die in obscurity with a system that was a massive failure when you have a system with a much larger install base.
As someone who has a wrist condition that makes playing with motion controls a painful experience, the Wii remote was a barrier that kept me from enjoying many games I would have otherwise enjoyed with a proper control scheme. I'm personally glad it has fallen by the wayside.
And we still don't get the new adventure mode and story missions on Wii U, which is really frustrating because I wanted to play those with people in co-op.
Co-op is the main reason why I have nearly 300 hours logged in Hyrule Warriors.
I won't use that mode but I don't have a problem with it being a thing. It would be a good way to introduce someone new to gaming and get them familiar with the controls and mechanics.
Can't say I'll miss the Wii controls, if it wasn't for the fact that I lost my Game Cube copy (and wasn't able to find a decent replacement at a reasonable price) I would have never gotten the Wii version of Twilight Princess.
The HD version being based on the Game Cube original was the biggest selling point for me, the cleaned up visuals and other improvements were just icing on the cake.
@edgedino It's not a bad place to start, the game largely assumes the player has at least played through Ocarina of Time so it doesn't really do a good job of explaining things like the origins of the goddesses and the Triforce (I don't think the Triforce is ever actually mentioned by name in Twilight Princess) so a few references may be lost on you, but I think it's one of the best games in the series.
I've been wanting an Arwing figure ever since the original Star Fox in 1993... it looks like I'm going to have to keep waiting because $300 is way too much.
I saw the thumbnail image in the link and my heart skipped a beat. I thought it was getting a re-release on the Virtual Console or something.
I used to rent this game all the time when I was a kid and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately when I've tried emulating the game in the past it just wasn't the same, the graphics and the audio were all kinds of messed up and I could never get it to work right.
I find it highly unlikely that they went without a power outage for 20 years. Unless the Japanese power grid is just that awesome compared to what we have in the US, where power outages occur whenever someone so much as farts on a pole across town.
It would be nice to have a choice between the new control scheme and the original, but screw it, I've been waiting years for a new Star Fox. I'll get used to the controls.
After playing the 3DS version i find it very difficult to go back to the original. It's got all of the best stuff of the original version with improved visuals and improvements to certain other aspects of the game (Iron Boots). So I'll just stick with the 3DS remake.
The only thing I don't like about the 3DS remake is the censorship. I can understand removing the chanting in the Fire Temple and the removal of the crescent moon and star symbol... but changing the blood in the final battles from red to green? Really? It's a nitpick but it annoys me.
@atomicjuicer I always loved that the original Star Fox felt so much like a space opera. The atmosphere was perfect and surprisingly dark for the time. Then there were the sweeping orchestral movements (as best as they could manage on the SNES at least) which have stuck with me for years. And there were actual consequences if you didn't protect your wing men, they didn't leave for repairs, they just straight up died. I'd love to see the series to go back in that direction.
If this turns out to be just Star Fox 64 HD with some new bells and whistles I'm going to be disappointed. I'll be even more disappointed if it turns out to be a multiplayer only game.
This announcement is what I'm looking forward to the most this E3 while simultaneously being the one I'm dreading the most.
When I was a kid I sunk so many hours into 'No Mercy' just creating my own wrestlers with their own little back stories, gimmicks and rivalries. It was like the ultimate combination of playing both a real and imaginary game at the same time.
Now I kind of want to go dig out my N64 and my copy of the game.

Re: Random: Turns Out Everyone's Favourite Video Game Analyst Was Right, Nintendo Fans Will Buy Cardboard
@mike_intv I actually just watched a documentary about Kenner's Star Wars toys on Netflix the other day. Interesting stuff.
Re: These New PlayStation-Themed Totaku Figurines Sure Do Remind Us Of Something
The Bloodborne one is cool, other than that I'm not too interested.
Now if they make one for Kat from Gravity Rush I'm sold.
Re: Capcom is Putting on a Sale on the North American eShops
If I didn't suck at classic Mega Man I'd consider the Legacy collection. There's nothing else there I am really interested in.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles Looks Set For The North American Wii U Virtual Console
Yeah I'm definitely going to pick this up, I've wanted to try it for years but could never find a copy at a decent price.

Re: Rumour Buster: Let's Have A Good Look At That "Leaked" NX Controller
The first thing I noticed was the "screen". It looks like it's just a piece of plastic with a printed image on it.
Then I noticed that the analog sticks look like solid pieces of plastic that can't move.
So I think this is definitely fake.

"Wait what!? Did it finally get localized"!?
clicks review and sees it's just for the Japanese version
"Oh... oh. /sigh"
Much like Turtles In Time this is among the games that if by some miracle made it onto the eShop, I'd buy without a second thought.
Re: Review: Project X Zone 2 (3DS)
I enjoyed the demo more than the demo for the first game. Also I hear that you can get X and Zero fairly early into the game so I'm sold.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Tackles the Native Resolution and Framerate in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
Wind Waker HD was locked at 30 as well, so I don't know why people are surprised by this.

I think the most surprising part if the direct for me was the Tower of Druaga representation. I definitely didn't see that coming.

Seriously, I didn't know Napster was still a thing.
