I only have the one set of joycons that came with the system and don't really feel a need to buy another set(I already have 2 pro controllers)... thinking I'm gonna pass on this one for now.
Hopefully they fix the sync issues with some of the music in the second game though. There were some issues with the PC(steam) version that they could never quite get ironed out.
@Shade_Koopa That was one of the problems I had with Bloodborne, the game looks fantastic but the choppiness of the framerate would give me a headache. Really wish there was an option to lower the resolution in order to improve the performance.
@Cobalt Year 3 will probably be better in the exclusives department since we've got games like Bayo 3, Prime 4, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Daemon X Machina and other things coming (not sure if those are games you're interested in, but I am).
I had figured year 2 would be a bit slow considering how Nintendo basically brought out all their heavy hitters right out of the gate and third parties were still leary of supporting the system after the Wii U.
Still, I haven't really had a shortage of things to play. Even if some of the games are ports (Hyrule Warriors for example), being able to play certain games in bed to wind down at night is a godsend.
Glad they prioritized the framerate (hell the Switch will probably run the game better than my laptop can these days), hopefully it's stable in both modes though.
I took apart an N64 controller once. There were so many plastic shavings inside the housing for the analogue stick/Z button, it was mind blowing. It's no wonder those things wore out so easily.
@garydbz25 The Messenger, Dragon Ball Fighterz, Yomawari collection, Monster Hunter Ultimate, The World Ends With You, Dark Souls Remastered, Mega Man 11, Starlink, Valkyria Chronicles 4, Mario Party.
Those are just some off the top of my head.
The release schedule for the next few months is packed.
Too much stuff coming in such a short time frame. Think I'll just stick to Octopath Traveler and Okami for the time being, but I will definitely be picking this up at some point.
@rjejr From what I've seen of DBZ it has a dynamic resolution that changes during gameplay. It runs at 60 but in the beta there were apparently some dropped frames.
@Orin41
The Wii U ports exist for the people who didn't own the Wii U, which at this point is likely quite a few people since the Switch blasted past the Wii U's sales in less than a year.
There's certain ports I wouldn't mind double dipping on though... like a version of Tokyo Mirage Sessions that doesn't require the gamepad to play. Still annoyed that game didn't have off-TV play.
The only Wii U game I've double dipped on so far was Hyrule Warriors. That was mostly because I missed out on all the extra content from the 3DS and it had a bump in performance.
@BladedKnight Pretty sure he's just trying to get a rise out of people, it's best to just ignore people like that. Don't give them the satisfaction of a reply.
@carlos82 Also, it's really cool that Metroid has two new reps this game and they're both villains.
As for that single-player mode, that blurred out section on the menu has to be it. I really hope we get something akin to the Subspace Emissary, but considering how massive this roster is getting that will be quite an undertaking for the developers.
@zool Last year we were spoiled with first party games. It had one of the best launch years I've seen since probably the 90's, so I decided to temper my expectations, thinking there was no way they'd be able to follow up on that in the second year.
There's still enough games coming out on it that are keeping me busy for the meantime. I'm still chipping away at Octopath Traveler.
I'm just glad the Switch mostly managed to avoid the misery that was the first few years of the PS4's life cycle (people seem to forget how barren the PS4 was its first 3 years... when "PS4 has no games" jokes were a thing). Up until 2017 really my PS4 was mostly a paperweight and streaming box.
I've got my copy on pre-order from Amazon Japan, should be getting it anytime between Sunday and Wednesday.
This is actually the first time I've ever imported a video game. Now here's hoping when I switch the game to English that doesn't change the credits music to the "localized" version.
Main reason for me importing was to get it physically though. Missed the boat on it with PS2 and I didn't like that the PS3 was digital only.

Re: Streets Of Rage 4 Is Really Happening, Thanks To The Team Behind The Wonder Boy Reboot
@Mach_Rider Yeah the Streets of Rage 3 soundtrack is... yikes.
Bloody Ears.
It's a far cry from how incredible the music for the first two games was.
Re: Fox McCloud Won't Be Flying Solo In Ubisoft's Starlink: Battle For Atlas
This already looks like a better Star Fox game than Zero... that's not exactly a very high bar but still.
Re: French Video Game Retailer Lists Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove Physical Release
If King of Cards and the battle mode are on the cart then sure... I'll buy this game for a fifth time.
Re: Saints Row: The Third Will Include All DLC On Switch
I would hope so.
Re: Interview: Daemon X Machina Producer Kenichiro Tsukuda On Cooking Up An Authentic Mech Game For Everyone
Just put it in my veins.
Re: Super Mario Party On Switch Won't Include Pro Controller Support
I was worried they'd Nintendo this up.
I only have the one set of joycons that came with the system and don't really feel a need to buy another set(I already have 2 pro controllers)... thinking I'm gonna pass on this one for now.
Re: Video: Mech Your Day With This New DAEMON X MACHINA Gamescom Footage
This game looks so fun, can't wait for it to come out. Hopefully the wait won't be too long.
Re: Nintendo Switch Nindies Showcase Summer 2018 Announced For 28th August
@Cobalt I had no idea the Wii U had that many games.
I don't even have a quarter of that.
Re: Nintendo Switch Nindies Showcase Summer 2018 Announced For 28th August
Hopefully there's some information on Shovel Knight: King of Cards and confirmation that the Amiibo will finally be shipping soon.
I've had those on pre-order since November of last year.
Re: The Diablo III Physical Release On Switch Won't Require Any Downloads To Play
@Whalehome it is on PC and least. I can't speak for the console versions as I have never played them.
Re: Random: Amazon's Gaming Pre-Order Discount Cancellation Sparks Nintendo Sale Surge
Amazon keeps raising their Prime price and removes more and more benefits.
I'm not paying $20 extra for less benefits, so I'm not renewing my sub in January. The 20% discount was one of the last things keeping me there.
Re: The Diablo III Physical Release On Switch Won't Require Any Downloads To Play
@Whalehome Diablo 3 still gets frequent updates with new content and seasons. So there will most certainly be updates in the future.
Re: HD Remaster Of Grandia And Dreamcast Sequel Revealed For Nintendo Switch
I'm extremely happy about this.
Hopefully they fix the sync issues with some of the music in the second game though. There were some issues with the PC(steam) version that they could never quite get ironed out.
Re: Well Would You Look At That, A Hat In Time Is Coming To Switch
@the_beaver I just saw the Grandia announcement and got so excited.
Grandia 2 was one of my favorite games on PS2 and I really enjoyed the first game when it finally came out on PSN a few years back.
Re: Blizzard Would "Love" To Have Diablo In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
I think just about any developer would love to have their character/series represented in Smash.
Smash Bros. at this point is the ultimate celebration of video game history.
Re: Diablo III Will Run At 60fps In Docked And Portable Mode On Nintendo Switch
@MagicEmperor I just noticed your screen name and avatar. Loved Lunar back in the day, never finished it though.

Re: Blizzard's StarCraft Series Unlikely To Be Released On Nintendo Switch
@wollywoo RTS is a genre that really doesn't work on console.

Re: Overwatch For Nintendo Switch Is Feasible, According to Blizzard Senior Producer
@Heavyarms55 Heroes of The Storm could potentially be possible as well. I could see that working similarly to the Diablo III console ports.
Re: Overwatch For Nintendo Switch Is Feasible, According to Blizzard Senior Producer
@WreckItRyan Maybe we can finally get a version of StarCraft Ghost... made by Platinum.
I need to lie down.

Re: Blizzard's StarCraft Series Unlikely To Be Released On Nintendo Switch
I couldn't even imagine trying to play StarCraft 2 on console. Outside of the pointer there's a ton of other stuff they would have to account for.
That would probably be a ton more work than they're really willing to put into it.
Re: Diablo III Eternal Collection Officially Announced For Nintendo Switch
They put a massive story spoiler in the trailer, just warning those who haven't played the game before.
Re: Nintendo Download: 16th August (North America)
@garydbz25 The Messenger, Dragon Ball Fighterz, Yomawari collection, Monster Hunter Ultimate, The World Ends With You, Dark Souls Remastered, Mega Man 11, Starlink, Valkyria Chronicles 4, Mario Party.

Re: ESRB Rating Reveals Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams Is Switch-Bound
Pretty sure there was an old hack on Commodore 64 that took a Giana Sisters game and reskined it as Mario.
I used to play it on my C64 when I was very, very young. I remember it being fun.
Re: Rumour: Leak Signals Blizzard's Diablo 3 Will Unleash Hell On Switch This Year
@Orin41 I'm sorry I completely misread that one line in your comment. My apologies.

Re: Rumour: Leak Signals Blizzard's Diablo 3 Will Unleash Hell On Switch This Year
@JaxonH There's that Motorhead ARPG game coming out soon as well. Victor Vran I think it was called.
Re: Rumour: Leak Signals Blizzard's Diablo 3 Will Unleash Hell On Switch This Year
@gortsi Wow... you're right. There hasn't been a Blizzard game on a Nintendo platform since StarCraft 64.
Pretty sure they're doing this to test the waters.
Re: Rumour: Leak Signals Blizzard's Diablo 3 Will Unleash Hell On Switch This Year
@HollowGrapeJ I'd say look up some gameplay and see if it's something you would be interested in.
This is also a game that's better played with other people.
Re: Rumour: Leak Signals Blizzard's Diablo 3 Will Unleash Hell On Switch This Year
@HollowGrapeJ At initial release? No it wasn't.
Since then they've improved it a lot. I've never played any of the console versions however so I can't tell you how the console experience is.
Re: Switch Continues Its Hardware Dominance In Japanese Charts, Games Fill 16 Of Top 20 Spots
It seems in Japan Splatoon is a beast which can not be fed.
Impressive seeing how much of a stranglehold the game still has over the Japanese market.
Also it's nice seeing Okami at number 11.
Re: Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate Is Getting A Free Demo On Switch Tomorrow
I'm so glad demos are becoming a thing again... on console anyway.
Re: Review: Cosmic Star Heroine (Switch eShop)
Zeboyd Games?
As in the people who made Cthulhu Saves The World?
That's awesome.
Re: Random: Shovel Knight "Coming Soon" To Competitive Brawler Rivals Of Aether
@JayJ
They've got one last campaign in the works and they're working on releasing the battle mode around the same time as that.

Re: Ubisoft Is Releasing Two Hand-Drawn Adventures On Switch Later This Year
I played a bit of Child of Light on PS4.
The Grandia style combat was actually the biggest thing that drew me to it.

Re: New Smash Bros. Ultimate Assist Trophies Include Shovel Knight And Monster Hunter's Rathalos
@MarioLover92
I feel you.
I flipped out so hard when I saw Zero, only to be let down when I realized he was an assist trophy. So close, yet so far.
At least he and Shovel Knight have representation other than a collectible trophy.
Re: Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth Will Be Released In Japan On 29th November
This will likely be my last 3DS game.
Re: Review: Titan Quest (Switch)
@Switcher I think the price just went that low at some point after I pre-ordered and that got applied to my order.
It was back in December so my memory is a bit hazy.
Re: Star Fox, Metroid And Fire Emblem Star In The Latest North American My Nintendo Rewards
I haven't touched Star Fox Zero since I beat it on release day.
Can't remember the last time I was that disappointed in a game, I really wanted to love it too.
Re: Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Summer Surprise Adds Free Blaster Master DLC And New "Jammies Mode"
I adore this series and all of its weirdness.
Re: Review: Titan Quest (Switch)
@Agramonte Fortunately I got it for $25 thanks to pre-ordering back in December on Amazon.
If I had to spend $40 for this I'd pass until it was on sale.
Re: Hori's Mario And Zelda Themed D-Pad Joy-Con Limited To Handheld Mode Arrives Locally This September
@Sun-WuGoku I'd say it's possible they might.
