Heck yes!!!! Flying through Sky Sanctuary was magical, simply magical, as a Genesis-era Sonic fan. My only concern is that they’ll focus on locations from modern games. That would suck big time.
Cool project. I'm kinda clueless about this sorta thing, should the fact that Nintendo doesn't seem to care be taken as a sign that they're not currently interested in remaking 64?
Thank you my switch sistas and brothas for supporting Xenoverse 2. I'm content with my $60 ps4 purchase of it but I was hoping it would sell well on Switch so we get the option of Switch DBZ games in the future
I'm extremely pleased to say that this seems like the best possible port they could've done. 1080/60 and 720/60 is optimized for switch. All unique switch features included (they confirmed HD rumble too, right?) Only absent feature is the new story mode cause that only works on frostbite. Small, necessary sacrifice, IMO.
Cool! It probably helps that it always seems to be one of the like 6 games on Switch shelves in stores. Great game, deserves the sales, although a price drop would be nice
Yeah it does. It's not just that the games are better looking, it's that these other developers can't even get their significantly less visually demanding games working on the thing (without delays and public admittance and whatnot). Maybe they're all just used to being really sloppy with optimization
It amazes me that Nintendo can pump out titles as good looking as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe but 3rd party developers always seem to be struggling and toiling to get their unimpressive-looking games even functionally running on it
I just hope that you can crank up the difficulty for the campaign mode. I don't want challenge shoehorned in with ranking systems. I wanna die when I don't strategize well enough and have to scrape my way through the battles.
I CANNOT BELIEVE you need multiple switches for Salmon run locally. That is so completely, arbitrarily anti-consumer that I am definitely not supporting this game. If Nintendo is going to market Switch as a home console how about treating it like one? Smh
I don't really understand where the frustration with this version is coming from. It looks like EA only chopped what couldn't run on antiquated hardware and delivered a solid port (which is commendable, it probably takes a LOT more work to port from PC to Xbox or whatever than from Xbox to Switch). It's really quite simple: If you already own a current gen machine and care more about graphics than portability, don't buy. Otherwise, enjoy!
I play a decent number of fighting games so it's kinda weird for me to watch a trailer like this and not see what's different about the character lol. All of my siblings have ARMS and say it's awesome but man it sure looks samey in trailers
note: I bet there are plenty of nuisances that ARMS-players pick up right away about the character, I'm just saying from an outsider prospective it all pretty much looks the same. Whereas in, say, Pokken or Smash or even MK all the play styles look distinct right away even to an untrained eye
Great package for anyone who hasn't played it. As a Wii U owner though...wow. Nintendo (and Gamefreak I guess) always manage to undercut my already low expectations for these Directs lol
I'm just really hoping for at least one great surprise. The last time Nintendo surprised me with something that really got me excited was that 2012 show where they desperately through every Wii U game in development at us.
How about remastering some N64 and Gamecube gems...DK64 (enable Kong switching with d pad and that game is amazing), Paper Mario TYD, Super Mario 64, and Mario Party 3 would be my top choices.
Yup it's smart. Few people will have the spare funds to pick up a Switch PLUS Zelda PLUS another game like Mario Kart or Splatoon PLUS any other desired accessories all at launch. Milk 'em slowly
Within launch year this system will already have more "must-play" games (BoTW and Odyssey at least) than the whole Wii U Library. As long as Nintendo keeps being ambitious with its beloved IP this time around I don't see this system selling under 40m
Regarding the crying scene, I actually think the English one is much better than people are giving it credit for. It's going for a different, more subtle vibe than the others. In the trailer with the epic music the Japanese one has the most impact for sure, but I think in-game the more realistic sobbing will actually be better. Overall, really, really impressed by the voice acting so far. I hope it's in more than just the major cutscenes (although I still hope that minor interactions in the gameplay setting still have text)
@NEStalgia Very well reasoned response, particularly about the stagnating player base. I guess you want to keep the momentum for it going, being a new hit franchise and all. And I agree more or less about Metroid, however I think that the general feeling about the Switch's launch lineup would be drastically different with Metroid in there instead. That would mean they have the new Zelda, a new Mario, definitive Mario Kart, and a brand new Metroid all in launch year (and probably Pokemon and Smash to be announced later). I think that sends a much stronger message than Splatoon 2, which is generally more of the same with some minor changes and improvements.
Happy that Splatoon 2 is coming, but I would honestly much prefer if they had targeted a summer 2018 release and worked on a more traditional Nintendo franchise for this coming summer. Like Animal Crossing (!!) or Metroid. It's a bit early for a sequel methinks, plus it would give them time get all the post-release content in for launch.
Just a dumb decision by Nintendo. For $50, this game will probably sell no more than 200k. Either drop the price to better match demand or pack it in to sell more switches
Nintendo is kinda dropping the ball on their pricing. Not so much on the console itself, but the games and controllers. $70 for a Pro Controller and $50 for a Joy-Con? $50 for 1-2 Switch and $60 for Arms? Those are major barriers. What makes them think people will pay the same price for something like Arms as Zelda?

Why is the middle-ground answer "I dunno"? I know exactly how I felt about it, and that is that it was average. Stupid poll lol

I personally think they'll realize that they'd be competing with BoTW if they priced it at 60, so more likely they go for a complimentary $40.
