Re: Waluigi Is Getting His Very Own PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller For Switch

WrongChops

Got the Animal Crossing Power A controller to replace my 8BitDo SN30 Pro, which was a replacement for a Nintendo Pro that succumbed to drift.

They're nifty little controllers. Super light and have a nice hand feel. Downsides are lack of rumble and reliance on AAs (though some might see this as an advantage, I use rechargeables).

They have some really nice designs and are often discounted if you play the waiting game. In no rush for a new one, but this has my fancy tickled.

Re: Arika Announces Fighting EX Layer: Another Dash For Nintendo Switch

WrongChops

Hoping this comes with all characters, DLC etc.

I'm not a fan of the buying the base game without its full compliment of characters, then having to pay for additional releases.

This has been out for a good while so it would be nice to get the definitive, all-singing, all-dancing version for the Switch, right out of the gate.

Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Hits Switch This July Alongside Themed Joy-Con

WrongChops

If only we could harness the furious energy of a Nintendo fan's misplaced sense of entitlement...

I enjoyed Skyward Sword on the Wii. I'll play through again with button controls which is a great addition. If it's not for you don't bother with it. Writing off the entire year/company/console/universe because you feel slighted by game announcements is really odd.

Re: There Are No Plans Right Now For A Cyber Shadow Physical Release

WrongChops

The luxury of a substantial backlog means I can afford to play the waiting game.

Shovel Knight eventually got a physical release, so it's not as though Yacht Club don't have experience.

The game looks great. A physical edition would sell like some lovely, hot, retro-styled, collectable cakes that can sit on your shelf, handsomely, with the other...cakes.

Re: Feature: Ten Arcade Games We'd Love To See On Switch

WrongChops

Always wanted to play Red Earth/Warzard. One of the few Capcom fighters I've not managed to play and it's never had a port. Looks absolutely gorgeous!

Hoping one day for a 'Capcom Fighting Game Collection' that includes things like Rival Schools, Cyberbots and other rarer gems 🤞🤞🤞

Re: Huge Capcom Leak Suggests New Final Fight, Power Stone, Mega Man And Dragon's Dogma Games Are Coming

WrongChops

The multiple Street Fighter versions make this look incredibly suspect. After the noise they made about not doing this with 5, then pretty much botching the launch, I can't see them reverting back to what has essentially become a running joke.

A few of these are gimmes and others make it look like somebody's personal wish list.

I don't buy it, but I'll buy some of these if it turns out to be true 🥁

Re: Review: Hotshot Racing - A Fantastic Ode To The Days Of Virtua Racing, Ridge Racer And Daytona USA

WrongChops

Really interested in this but it's one of those games that I'd love a physical copy of so I'm faced with a dilemma of whether to bite now at the decent launch discount, or hang fire to see if a physical gets announced.

It seems as though the game had a decent following prior to launch and with the pedigree or Sumo Digital I'd be suprised if it didn't end up on a cart. Would be nice if it got a general release rather than a limited run.

Re: Nintendo Explains How Motion Controls Work In Super Mario Galaxy On Switch

WrongChops

Would personally prefer if motion controls were removed entirely, as an option obviously. I want to use a Pro Controller but the thought of having to use it as a pointer for Galaxy just isn't vibing with me, if that's what they're going with.

Going to wait on more details before pre-ordering as Galaxy is the main selling point for me. Had all three games at the times of release but have the fondest memories of SMG. I always found Sunshine too punishing, didn't like the FLUDD gimmick (yes, I said it) and it l always felt like it was missing something. Loved 64 at the time and like to think I'd get more out of it now I'm a more seasoned gamer with a few decades of 3D gaming under my belt.

Re: Hamster's Arcade Archives Brings A Konami "Masterpiece" To Switch This Week

WrongChops

Looks kinda slow to me. Plus I'm not a fan of shmups that kick you back to a checkpoint at the loss of every life, mainly because I'm not very good at them and can't spam continues to get through the game!

Reckon I'll stick with Twinbee for my Konami shmup fix on Switch. Plus I picked up a CoreGrafx Mini so I'm pretty much set for shooters for the rest of time 😂

Re: Streets Of Rage 4 Physical Editions Hit Stores Today

WrongChops

Got mine from Base.com yesterday with a dope keyring and mini artwork book, which was nice for a so-called 'standard edition'.

Glad I stuck it out and waited for the physical. Been itching to play this one since launch. It's going to be the feature of my weekend 👊👊👊👊

Re: Paper Mario Producer Says Team Is "No Longer Able To Graphically Represent Individual Characteristics" In Toad NPCs

WrongChops

I feel like Miyamato should only really be used as a spokesperson and consultant at this point, focussing on external projects like the Mario movie and theme park. The next Pikmin game too, obviously.

I tend to hear things about him that make his eccentricities seem like a hindrance these days. Let the developers do their thing. Consult and share ideas, sure, but don't be prohibitive and guarded when it comes to creativity. What would the gaming landscape look like now if he wasn't afforded certain creative freedoms that he is denying others?

I haven't really taken his ideas seriously since the Wii Music debacle to be honest, as much as I love the guy.

Re: Sega Just Announced A New Micro-Console, And It's Packed With 36 Arcade Gems

WrongChops

Definitely has my interest, especially if it lets you use your Megadrive Mini controllers. I have the six button Retrobit version for playing Street Fighter so if I could use that it would be a good investment. If it's yet another set of controllers to buy then it's too big of an outlay. The mini cab is cute but just doesn't look practical, same as the Neo Geo mini.

Re: Want To Go Swimming And Diving In Animal Crossing: New Horizons? This Is What It Will Cost You

WrongChops

I didn't think the base game was underdone, though I didn't play a lot of New Leaf. Before any of the updates came through I still felt like I had tons to do and there was plenty of depth. The updates via patches etc. makes sense to prevent people breaking the game and spoiling it for all. NL couldn't stop themselves doing this with only a week to wait 😏

I prefer to have as much of the game as possible on cart, sure. But as my first real experience of a 'games as a service' (albeit one that hasn't cost me extra, so far), I'm enjoying the steady introduction of new content. I've kept my village ticking over and was wondering where to go from here, so it's a welcome boost and will keep me motivated when the next inevitable lull comes and we await a new patch.

Good job Nintendo 👍

Re: Streets Of Rage 4 Dev Has Some Ideas For DLC, But Nothing Is Officially In The Works

WrongChops

@SuperWeird just my personal opinion, which is what the comments section is or. The article asks 'Would you like to see some DLC for Streets of Rage 4 later down the line? Share your thoughts below.' I did. I'd rather not. I don't expect anyone to be 'held back'. Are the devs listening to me specifically?

Most of my physical collection is ready to go right out of the box as I don't like buying an 'incomplete package'. Most don't offer DLC and those that do, I'm disinterested in it (looking at you, Luigi's Mansion). Plus I trade in regularly and I like the boxes 😊

I said I was old school. I don't mind being 'stuck in the past'. I have an extensive digital collection too. I don't need you to give me a rundown of the state of modern game distribution. I know what's going on.

I'd just like my physical copy of Streets of Rage to be complete, like it's forebears. Follow your own advice, 'get over it' and have a nice day 👍😉

Re: Streets Of Rage 4 Dev Has Some Ideas For DLC, But Nothing Is Officially In The Works

WrongChops

Incredibly selfish of me I know, but I like having a physical game that I know is complete so I'd prefer a straight up sequel or separate episode (3.5 anyone?) than having a physical copy without the additional content.

It all depends how it is implemented too. I know DLC is largely optional but I hate when they patch a game for DLC and you can see the locked content referenced somewhere every time you get into the game. Fighting games are the absolute worst for this, usually having greyed out character slots to remind you that you're not playing the definitive version. Feel like it started with SF X Tekken and has gotten worse since.

I'm old school really. I prefered it when games came out and that was it. No patches. No DLC. What you got was what you kept forever. Warts and all.

Re: Pixelheart Delays Upcoming Switch And Wii U Physical Editions, New Dates Revealed

WrongChops

Someone tweeted Pixel Heart asking why the announcement came so late when Shmup Collection physical was due out tomorrow (pre-ordered mine from Amazon on Monday and it still said Friday was the release date), they responded with:

"Hello, we had already announced that there would be a delay on the release of our games, but for a few days now we have known when the games will be released.

Difficult to plan dates in advance when the entire production chain is blocked or production work is slowed down."

Re: 3D Realms' Ion Fury Brings Old-School FPS To Switch Next Month

WrongChops

Wow. Never been more embarasssed to be an NL visitor. Both sides of the argument re: controversy have been woefully represented, other than a few well-considered posts.

In other news, I'm likely going to pick this up if the port has been well-handled.

I queried why this has been omitted from the list of games to look out for in May and now this article magically appears.

You're welcome 😘

Physical release still showing as 29th May on Base.com

Re: UK Charts: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Absolutely Smashes It Out Of The Park

WrongChops

Have played a few AC games and this has its hooks into more than any other. Feels like they've really taken the time to perfect the formula and I'm excited to see how it all plays out.

I was waiting on reviews and then if all was well I'd pick up for my birthday next month. With all the uncertainty and prospects of having to spend more time than usual indoors, I took the plunge. It's pefect for whittling away the hours, escaping from real world stressors and still feeling like you're being productive with your time. I'm really glad it's in my collection.
