A special physical release of Hyper Light Drifter is now available to pre-order on Nintendo Switch.
Called 'Hyper Light Drifter – Special Edition Collector’s Set', this lovely physical bundle includes everything listed below. Pre-orders are open right now in Europe, with the first 5,000 orders set to be shipped in January.
- Poster: A full colour illustration sized 51 x 31 cm.
- Key-chain: The Drifter’s Companion sized 4 cm.
- Lenticular Card: A Rosetta Stone card to interpret the forgotten language of the land.
- 2 CD: Original Soundtrack by Disasterpeace.
- Sticker: Circular sticker sized 6 cm diameter.
- Manual: A full colour booklet of 24 pages.
- Inlay: Reversible print of the game cover.
- Game cartridge: Cartridge for Nintendo Switch™
Those of you in North America won't miss out, as the bundle will also be available there thanks to a partnership with Limited Run Games. Pre-orders aren't live at the time of writing, but make sure to keep an eye out on the company's site and socials if you're keen on picking this up.
If you haven't played this one already, you really, really, should. We awarded the game a stupendous 9/10 in our review back in 2018, so we'd certainly recommend picking it up in one form or another.

Oh happy day!! I've held off on getting this game for so long, even resisted the 50% off black Friday sale recently. (But mainly I think that was due to breaking down and picking up Hades instead, which I am absolutely loving.)
I will certainly be preordering this from LRG.

Already own this on PC from when it first released as well as the physical PS4 version from Iam8bit but I will gladly buy this a third time for a physical Switch Version. One of my all time favorite games.
I mean I love getting games physically, but for Indies I find it so much more expensive that I'm usually put off.
I just want a normal physical edition, wife is getting annoyed with all the extra stuff that comes with special editions.

The trend seems to be that the extra stuff is inexpensive enough that it offsets the cost of manufacturing the game itself.
It helps keep smaller operations afloat.

I think I'd have bitten at 50, but 65 feels too much to me.

@Bunkerneath A standard edition of a successful indie game, with a pedigree of multiple successful years on the market, is just as honourable to me as any special edition. I treasure my physical copies of Hollow Knight, Shovel Knight and Axiom Verge. You speak for me here!
I want this even though I already have it downloaded on my switch hard drive.
If they included a book full of concept art for the game, that would really sweeten the pot!
Not fan of Collectors Ed. but i will like a normal physical edition instead. Just the game, booklet, maybe a poster.

I feel like if I'm truly in love with a game, it is worth double-dipping (buying it physically after you:ve already bought the eShop release).
I splurged like that for Enter the Gungeon, Crypt of the Necrodancer, and Sayonara Wild Hearts, and anticipate doing so again for Hades when that comes out physically. Of course, it was for standard editions of those games, which weren't as expensive as this Hyper Light collector's edition.

@0blivion Fangamer sold a Hard Cover Artbook thats 220 pages however its sold out now and I don't see it going back into stock any time soon
I hate all of the extra stuff, most of it goes in the bin as the larger boxes don't fit in my drawer. I just want the cartridge to save some space on my SD card so a basic edition would do for me on all of these releases - apart from silksong, I want the ultimate edition of that game with a lifesize Hornet plushie, a wearable Knight helmet and cloak!
