Beat DQ7 Reimagined on Monday night...71 hours total. Brilliant game. Better than XI S? In my opinion nah. Different story with nowhere near as many scenarios going off on tangents, but I still loved it. Now in post game territory - there's still a huge chunk of stuff to do, medals to collect, slabs to pick up, characters to level up.
I said I was going to play Dragon Quest 7 last weekend, I didn't, got sidetracked. This weekend I will, took a break from playing anything for a week so looking forward to catching back up. Really enjoying the Switch 2 so far...
@OldGamer999 this is true, but it is only games we're talking about at the end of the day. A form of light entertainment. A hobby. On that note I'm sure something will catch your eye soon! Nice to break up the comments with a lil philosophical discourse
Right, I want a new Zelda, a new Mario, Metroid Prime 5, a new Animal Crossing, a 4k model of the Switch 2, £500,000 in cash, an 8TB NAS drive, a hot Brazilian girlfriend, a constant 24/7 stream of updates from Nintendo or I will scream. I'm not being unreasonable.
@Duncanballs oh man, there’s some islands where the people are absolute idiots, one where they rewrote history and I sat there going “tossers!” 😆 (albeit a stronger version of the word) yet there’s still an overriding arc which sits in the background throughout the whole game.
@Duncanballs it’s superb. I love the whole future/past mechanic. No two islands work the same. There’s so many chests I still want to unlock that I can’t.
@Misima mad thought, but there's a huge amount of people out there who buy games that don't even give specialist sites like this a cursory glimpse, gaming sites are an absolute microcosm, basically a rag tag bunch of enthusiast social clubs. 99.99998% of the raging in here means nothing at all.
I walk past a Games Workshop every day, there's dudes in there who are probably at war with each other completely unaware of what goes on in here, I just walk past and don't give it a second thought.
@dew12333 It's always so black and white, no accounting for people who just don't care either way because it's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. It's just games.
@ThatOneLevel I would imagine most people get the bundle which would be seen as a digital sale, which won’t show up on these charts at all. Buying the bundle meant I got it for roughly £20 here. Saved about £40. Makes sense.
I’m not going blind. The SNES was left off the poll. For me it was Link to the Past. I never beat it but definitely admired it. Took a big break but never got truly into Zelda games until Wind Waker on the GameCube. After Jet Set Radio I knew cel shaded was a truly timeless art style. I didn’t beat it then either, I got to the triforce shards and gave up. Ocarina of Time came with the Wind Waker bundle, I tried it up to the Forest Temple, but after playing Wind Waker it felt primitive. I just never got on with the N64 at all.
The first Zelda I completely beat was Twilight Princess HD on the Wii U. Loved it. Which made me follow up and beat Wind Waker HD. Followed by BOTW, Link’s Awakening, Skyward Sword HD which I love, TOTK and I’m still not done with Echoes of Wisdom.
I had a huge gap where I didn’t care about games. Too many other things going on.
Much like last week, Dragon Quest 7. Too many things keep happening consecutively in the game but I have to make myself stop. 35 hours in plus my characters are levelling up nicely. Great game. Trying to be careful what I say so I don’t spoil it for people who are earlier into the story.
Great numbers for DQ7 on the OG Switch…from my experience with DQXI, handheld is the best way to grind these games. I spent most of my time levelling up on a couch or a bean bag not tied to the TV.

Re: PSA: Switch 2's "GameChat Welcome Offer" Ends This Month, Try It Out For Free While You Still Can
I keep meaning to use it, I just haven't got round to it yet...it's tricky when you have friends in different time zones.

Re: UK Charts: Pokémon Pokopia's Physical Troubles Continue As It Slips From The Podium
@atombomb66 They must have underestimated how popular it would end up being...be curious to see what happens after a restock.
Re: UK Charts: Pokémon Pokopia's Physical Troubles Continue As It Slips From The Podium
@Solid_Python Such martyrdom. Like a modern day Spartacus uprising.

Re: Pokémon Pokopia Sales Surpass 2.2 Million Units Globally In First Four Days
@progx I would be surprised if it was 10%.
Re: Pokémon Pokopia Sales Surpass 2.2 Million Units Globally In First Four Days
@Anti-Matter you don’t even have a Switch 2. It’s like me getting mad over a game on the PS5.
Re: Yoshi Popcorn Bucket Announced For The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
@Agent_P depends on the film of course! Could be something like Midsommar
Re: Yoshi Popcorn Bucket Announced For The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
@HandHeld3fectAce well you do get salted caramel, so it could work...not great for the blood pressure mind!
Re: Yoshi Popcorn Bucket Announced For The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
@Tempestryke That's a really good question. Sweet or savoury popcorn?
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Pokémon Pokopia?
@NintendoGlazer he would need to own a Switch 2 first. That might help.
Re: Nintendo Direct For The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Announced
@OldGamer999 I get the feeling they're sitting on some biggies...the partner and indie directs were path clearers I reckon...we shall see.

Re: Nintendo Direct For The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Announced
@OldGamer999 it’s trivial. First world nothingness. In the grand scheme of things it means nada.
Re: Nintendo Direct For The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Announced
@OldGamer999 Nintendo never reads the comments here.
Re: Pokémon Pokopia Limited-Time Special Event Announced - "More Spores For Hoppip"
@Willo567 KeyCardGate and FOMOGate in one game. These things always come in threes, looking forward to the third “Gate”…😄
To add to that, I probably did three SplatFests ever…

@Duncanballs yet here we are, week in, week out. Take your pick - Bluey, six pack kick boxers, I'll play it on the PS5 or key cards...

There it is, in all its glory…👆
Re: UK Charts: Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 Sales Comparable To Cyberpunk 2077
@chiptoon online discourse and real world sales are two different things. Comment section opinions rarely represent real life.

Poor Xbox. Only posting here in anticipation of the Bluey post.

@Folkloner Exactly. This only affects about 400 noisy online neckbeards worldwide who are emulating it anyway.
"$5!!??!?!?!? I'm not paying that much!!!!"
(buys a $1200 graphics card a week later..)
