@jsty3105 I didn’t even mention the N64 stuff I have sitting in a box file in my mum’s house that I will never touch. It’s the one console I felt I got really burned with. There’s about 3-4 games I enjoyed.

@kmtrain83 “if we zoom in 300% on that tree….” Even though the tree does nothing to enhance the gameplay. They’ve got people fighting online over a random boulder or bush, or in this case…hair. Hair. There could be horribly convoluted play mechanics but let’s focus on the hair. That’s why I categorised a lot of games as “rubble and stubble”. 😄

@jsty3105 there must be something wrong with me, I find the whole thing a complete non-issue. People getting their knickers in a twist over something that hasn’t happened and won’t happen for years, when they could be enjoying themselves now. Speaking as someone who has Gamecube, Dreamcast and Saturn games sitting there doing absolutely nothing and have done for decades.

@Dr_Wright I would play Daytona on the Saturn for hours on end and that was only 20fps. It played like a dream.

@johnedwin I'm with you on that, it absolutely ruins the gameplay.

@h3s If they left the DLC off, people would kick off about it being a paltry bare bones title I'm sure. No matter how it releases I don't think they will win with this lot.

I saw someone post the file size on Twitter. 75GB. Wouldn't have fitted on a cartridge anyway by the looks of things, unless they made the DLC a download...but that would cause another outcry I reckon.

I beat Yakuza Kiwami last weekend, there's still some stuff hanging over I want to take care of before moving on to something else...plus VF5 is such a great game to play in bursts after such a big time sink. I still need to finish Echoes of Wisdom as well, near the end but there's one echo I've seen I definitely want to take into the final battle with me. If you know you know.

I'll wait and see what happens in the sales...Souls games have never truly been on the radar for me, it would be nice if there was a demo to help me decide whether or not to splash out.

Yakuza Kiwami for me, with some VF5 REVO as a side dish. On chapter 11 of Yakuza Kiwami and taking a breather after 2 chapters of absolute non-stop carnage where people have been getting killed all over the place. Time for some chilled side quests, some bowling and an occasional bout of fisticuffs with Majima.

@DennisLofgren I'd put that down to it being a Switch 1 game which has zero mouse support. I wouldn't be surprised if a Switch 2 version ends up being in the works down the line.

That thumbnail for that episode screams to me: click on the "do not recommend channel" button on YouTube. Horrible clickbait garbage vibes emanate. The excessive red, the facial expressions, the big outlined type. Nah. Never watched any of their vids. Straight in the bin.

Picked up VF5 REVO today after umming and ahhing, it's superb...plays really well with the OG Switch pro controller d-pad, it's been too long since VF3 on the DC and in the arcade for me.

I beat DQ7 Reimagined, did loads of post-game stuff which gets rock hard towards the end, I think I can happily move on now...loved it, 9/10 for me, need more Dragon Quest. VF5 for £16 is really tempting - I also need to go back into Yakuza Kiwami.

Now there's a turn up for the books...

I was trying Arcade Mode on the recent beta - playing it with joy cons isn’t ideal but I nearly beat Dural with Lion (my old main character). Need to try it again but with my megadrive pad…missing the dodge button from VF3! The old muscle memory is still there from over 20 years ago.

PS5 struggling against a dead console…Switch 2 looks like it could outsell the PS5 completely by the end of 2026. All it will take is a few big titles this year.

@jsty3105 I worked out prices in Canadian dollars for a Switch 2 once, the Mario Kart bundle works out to roughly £380-390. It's like Aussie dollaridoos, they always sound frighteningly high.

@CaptainQuo fellow Brit, no problem with free speech here at all, depends on what certain branches of the media here put out to the rest of the world, I saw some nonsense about tens of thousands of people being jailed over here for what they said on social media, absolute nonsense...Twitter and the Meta based sites let people happily flood their feeds with misinformation without a care in the world.

And to add to that I have to worry about my social accounts getting vetted before being allowed back into the states...

@spiderman0616 yep, just getting through DQ7 which has been a huge time sink. Then I need to finish off Yakuza Kiwami and Echoes of Wisdom, plus I still have tons to do in Mario Kart World. I can wait. It’s only games.
