Re: Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Description May Suggest A Faithful 1:1 Remake

@Pillowpants I gave up on OOT, as I tried playing it after Wind Waker (came packed in with Wind Waker). It was just way too clunky. Tried again on Wii U Virtual Console, but again it was off the back of Twilight Princess HD. It's a game that definitely needed an overhaul to smooth things out, and to rework some of the artificial length they added to the game.

Re: Nintendo Combats Scalpers With New Switch 2 Purchase Requirements In Japan

@nukatha yeah that happened back in the Megadrive/Super Nintendo/PC Engine era, back when people used to have to get region switches fitted. Although I suspect in this day and age with the Japanese Switch 2, no such regional option exists inside the unit. I've bought devices in Japan in the past and I knew I was pretty much on my own once I got back home.

Re: Reaction: A Direct That Picked Up Pace For A Breathtaking Finish

I came away impressed and surprised. The third party support is far better than the Switch 1 got. A lot of posts in here complaining about old games need to realise that not everyone has every box under their TV and a gaming rig. Some people just have either a Switch 1/2 and are over the moon about not having to spend a fortune on kit to play these titles. Not forgetting all those people for whom a Switch is the only practical way to squeeze a game in these days. Who gives a damn about not getting brownie points from a bunch of miserable people you don't know anyway.

Good to see so many people thinking they speak for everyone yet again!

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch 2: Year One - Looking Back, How Would You Rate It So Far?

Loving it. It feels like a leap up in comparison to the Switch in every way. Migrating everything over was so easy. So far I've been mainly playing third party games, currently working my way through the Yakuza series which Sega kindly furnished us with, along with titles like VF5 and Dragon Quest 7. I was pleased as well about getting Mario Kart World so cheap as part of the bundle. The backwards compatibility is also a huge plus as it means I can return to games I didn't finish.

Re: Talking Point: One Year On, How Pristine Is Your Switch 2?

WiltonRoots

Mine's still in pristine condition, bear in mind I doubt I game as much as a lot of the punters on this site...got mine in January but I do have to say the build quality overall compared to the OG Switch is leaps and bounds above. Joycons feel like silk, they've taken one of my favourite controllers and made it better.

Had virtually no issues with my OG Switch since October 2017, the only issue I had was a bit of faint drift which I rectified with contact cleaner solution. Other than that, still looks new!

@michellelynn0976 It’s been 7 years since I played through it on the Switch. I want to replay it and start from scratch on my new console. I doubt I will struggle to raise the funds between now and then but yeah a discount for Switch owners would have been a nice touch. Sega did that with Yakuza Kiwami. Key card doesn’t bother me in the slightest either as I have it digitally on the Switch 1.
