@OctolingKing13 Ironically the fanbase rabidly tying itself in knots at every possible opportunity is likely the reason that we've heard so little from the game so far. Why bother spending years writing up blog posts, making new trailers, doing interviews and so on when the sheer absence of the game is enough to keep it relevant?
@Damo Lovely machines. Great homebrew community. Probably couldn't have done with the company that made them essentially cracking in two and competing with itself for an already tiny market, but them's the breaks.
You're also missing the Tapwave Zodiac, the GamePark GP32 (and its even less successful successors), and the Nokia N-Gages, but that Gizmondo is a bit of a rarity!
@ear_wig Ah, but if the screen was face down it would detract from that wow moment when you first unbox it. You'd be surprised by how much thought companies put into things like that.
Feels like this isn't just wholesale ripping off Goldeneye, but is also trying to eat lunch of the still-in-production Goldeneye love letter 'Agent 64'
@LEGEND_MARIOID They have a history of quality issues, especially when it comes to the more niche things that aren't mass-produced any more.
But stuff like their switch cartridges and Blu-Ray discs are all just manufactured on the same production lines as all the other switch cartridges and Blu-Ray discs. They're basically an extension of Embracer Group's publishing arm at this point.
@VoidofLight @N00BisH It's not just the fans though. When it comes to stuff like the Genki mockups it's also the fact that they left it past CES, when a bunch of companies that produce accessories for Nintendo systems needed to show their upcoming wares to new investors. Nintendo are in no way in the wrong per se, but they surely have to realise that they don't operate in a vacuum.
@Yosher It's a bit of fun, innit. It's not like there's been any crucial new 3DS games that fishguy really needed to play, so why not leave it on in the corner just to see how long it can stay 'connected'.
@Hoshiko @anoyonmus The engine it's built in (Ren'Py) doesn't actually support Switch, so even getting it to run on Switch is a bit of a hack job that's mostly been covered by the homebrew community.
@RainbowGazelle Online only, by the looks of things. Also the site suggests that they're catering worldwide and advertising international shipping, but a look into the shipping policy shows that they're not registering any kind of tax or customs registration so expect to be hit with a hefty import fee if you do buy one of these!
@Erigen I'm not even that sure it was ever going to be an end of year release. Consoles releasing for Christmas just means you get rid of the little bit of product you managed to produce before then, and then have no games to sell anyone. Not only does a 9-month ramp-up mean that the doting parents aren't having to fight the die-hard core audience for systems, it means there's a decent pile of games to upsell to new users. Plus launching in the first three months of the year makes for an extremely strong end-of-year (Nintendo's fiscal year ends in March) investor report.
@Rhaoulos Generally speaking the point of offering games like these at a ludicrously low price point isn't to make money from them, but to drive their position in the charts up, making them more visible in the store.
@XenoShaun The fact that the Americans seem to have to own a specific title suggests that they're exploiting some kind of loophole on the US store to get stuff that low. I guess maybe that loophole doesn't exist outside of the North American store?
@OctolingKing13 Not impossible, just invalid; the creator used an experimental tool to validate it (you have to be able to beat a level to upload it, so the fact that it wasn't actually beaten before uploading made it technically illegitimate), but there was never anything that a person couldn't technically do in the level. It was just stupidly, astonishingly difficult.
I've only watched the first episode so far, but it's utterly charming. Very much along the lines of that stop motion animated Rilakkuma series Netflix put out a few years back.
@EarthboundBenjy Square Enix is having a moment where they've been looking at that Dark Souls money, and are saying 'we could do that...', which is why both FF16 and the next Dragon Quest are darker, edgier, more adult takes on the formula. And I'm not sure anyone actually wants this for either franchise?
@blindsquarel Because those are the two game series he had the most input on, and Nintendo tends to be more willing to give StarFox another try every few years.
@themightyant Nah. One of the neutral endings is a far more likely outcome than Genocide. You have to very specifically go out of your way to not just killing every monster you come across, but every single monster on every map in order to get Genocide.

@romanista HYPER METEOR from Season 1 is also on Switch, as is The Fall of Elena Temple, so it's maybe the third?
Re: Review: Blippo+ (Switch) - An Uncanny Channel-Surfing Sim That Perfectly Captures '90s TV
@Elektrogeist1287 On that basis, why buy any form of linear media? If you can't affect the outcomes of a TV show why bother?

Re: Capcom Is Recording Switch 2 Game-Key Card Purchases As "Digital Sales"
That's quite interesting, actually. That implies that the production cost of these things is so incredibly low as to be nearly negligible.

@mariomaster96 A lot of it was just room to house the 6 AA Batteries it burned through every 3 hours!
